Challenge: Anything Goes

You know the drill here – no rules just crafting! Enjoy making something new and share it with us.

Sandra Mouwen is moving!

Yes, I’m moving and I wanted to make a fun planner to organize all the million things I need to do. As covers I used canvas boards, painted them black with Charcoal Black. The holes I punched with my Cinch. I started out with a blanc piece of Neenah Solar White Cardstock to go onto the front cover. With the Simon Says Stamp Blocked Circles I began to build up the background. I can’t get enough of Neon Pink and made some splashes with it and painted the letters.

Ashli has LOTS of scraps and needs to use them!

With my scrap pile growing larger and larger, I decided to put some of those bits to use this week! I had more fun layering up papers to create these whimsical houses. A variety of paints, mists and stencils were put to use to create the mixed media background. With the houses in place, a finishing touch of clouds does the trick!

Meihsia created a mixed media tag using the new carved instrument stamps.

My children play musical instruments and I love these Tim Holtz Carved Instrument Stamps, so I decided to use these stamps to create a mixed media tag this week. The texture on the background of this tag was stenciled using Tim Holtz Layering Stencil and Modeling Paste. Those two stamped instrument images were cut and attached on the tag with Foam Squares to give a touch of dimension.

Mona was in the mood to sew.

Now that Autumn has arrived, I was in the mood to create a mini rag quilt using various Eclectic Elements fabrics. I also stitched together an iPhone pouch using Eclectic Elements fabrics which is embellished with a Fanciful Button and Buckle.

With Food, Friends, and Fun, Anything Goes at Michelle‘s House.

I don’t usually have formal dinner parties. At our house, a bowl of homemade stew and microbrew is more likely to be on the menu. The place cards should be relaxed and fun too! The sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Thanksgiving Table set is fun addition to the Tim Holtz Journaling Tickets. So come on over and grab a spoon!

Anna-Karin made a layout about a happy Halloween meeting.

The high point of last year’s Halloween celebration was definitely meeting Spider-Man, although it was a little hard to understand why Spider-Man was standing around chatting with the scary guys. I used Tim Holtz Laboratorie paper as my background and stamped quite a bit on it. The cool orange and black images are from the new Halftone Halloween set.

Three different takes on the same ATC was Suzz’s inspiration this week.

I was cleaning up after trying a few ideas. I cut down my scraps into ATC size and decided to make 3 different ATC all using the same stamps (Darkroom Door – Dashing, Stampers Anonymous – Tiny Things, Darkroom Door – New York Volume I) I loved playing with different backgrounds and mixing the elements and coming out with something slightly different.

Emma was in the mood for some tricks and treats.

I adore Artist Trading Blocks but just never got around to creating one ~ until today, when I decided it would be perfect for this challenge and the spooky thoughts that were running through my head about what I wanted to create. So with this in mind, I created my first ATB full of mystery. I covered the sides of the ATB with Tim Holtz Motif Resist Cardstock, inked with Peeled Paint, Spiced Marmalade and Dusty Concord Distress Inks and added various pieces of Idea-ology, including crackled corked vials and letterpress numbers before completing the box with die cut bats and a rosette.

I (May) took the challenge theme and gathered some supplies.

I know it sounds crazy, but the time to prepare for the holidays is upon us! I’ve created a video and gathered some of my favorite supplies including a few new treats like an Avery Elle stamp set and a Memory Box stencil. While I might not be ready, at least I’ve got the supplies to get started!

Tune back in Wednesday for Andrea’s tips and tutorial…

As always, Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $50 gift voucher that will go to a random entry chosen by random generator. To qualify all you need to do is create a new project that ties in (in any way!) with our theme and post it, along with a link back to this challenge, and add a link here. This challenge will end at 11:59pm on Sunday October 26th Eastern time. We will also be choosing some of our entries to put in the spotlight – a special honor where we talk about why we loved that entry in particular and award a special badge too! For the full rules, read the “challenge rules” posted in the side-bar here on our blog.
