Ink Blending and Layering Templates featuring our February 2026 Card Kit!
Hello everyone! Heather Hoffman here today, and I just can’t get enough of the amazing February 2026 Card Kit: The Small Things! There really are endless possibilities with the innovative designs in this months kit, and I’ve used them so many ways already! For today’s cards, I decided to take them a bit of a different – and FUN – direction!
I chose a couple of the Artful Palette layering templates that I thought would work well together for some layered stenciling, then chose two color palettes that would work well together and be complimentary where they overlapped. The cooler colors I chose were Surf and Dublin, and the warmer tones were Sunbeam and Grapefruit. I stenciled them, one over the other, on panels of white cardstock, blending softly to keep the colors from getting to deep and dark.
Next, I selected some sentiments from the Be Your Beautiful Self set in the kit, and stamped them directly over that stenciling. You can see how I chose something in the stenciled grid to center each of them – they really provided the perfect guidelines for where to add those sentiments! I also die cut some of the tiny hearts and butterflies from white cardstock with the Artful Palette coordinating dies, and popped them up with foam adhesive on that panel.
I chose some coordinating cardbases from my stash – Mint and Cotton Candy – and added those panels over top with foam adhesive. To add a bit of sparkle, I added some Dazzling Gems in black to each card, and then covered the die cut hearts and butterflies with some sparkly Nuvo Glitter Drops in Blizzard!

Basic Supplies to Have for Class:
- Die cut machine
- Stamp Positioner, such as MISTI or Stampwheel
- Trimmer
- Scissors
- Adhesives: Tape runner, strong liquid glue, double sided tape and foam tape
- Strong tape, such as scotch tape
- Temporary tape (to help with die cutting)
- Dry cloth or paper towels
- Ruler to measure
- Mist bottle with water (for clean up)
- Score board and bone folder
- Post-it notes for masking
- Tweezer or wax pick-up tool
- Optional: Blending brushes (if you prefer to use more than what is in the kit, or different)
