EZ with CZ: Easy Emboss Resist Backgrounds

Hi friends! Happy Saturday! Please join me in a warm welcome back to special guest Cathy Zielske! Read on and be sure to check out the video! Enjoy!

Hi crafty friends! It’s Cathy Z. here back with another installment of EZ with CZ. Today I’m sharing an easy emboss resist background using the always forgiving Distress Oxide inks!

I have an ever growing stash of red rubber cling background stamps (like this Deco Squares cling stamp) and they stamp so wonderfully every time! Stamp with some embossing ink and add some clear embossing powder, heat, and start adding your color!

I used to use white embossing powder for this technique but lately I’ve switched over the the Simon Says Stamp Clear Embossing Powder. When you’re using a bright white cardstock, it simply preserves that white color below the stamped and embossed image. Here’s my tutorial to show you how simple this can be.

Funny Friday with Art Impressions: Stretching Stamps + Mini Slimline Card!

Hello friends, it’s Nina-Marie Trapani here with you! Welcome back to another Funny Friday with Art Impressions! We’re going to “stretch” our stamps across a mini slimline card for a unique and fun design.

This playful Koalas set has this sweet koala in a pair of tea cups. I thought he was so cute and would be even funnier if I stacked him higher on the tea cups! That of course required a little more height than a standard A2 card, which inspired me to make this a mini slimline design! Mini slimline cards are becoming extremely popular. Side note if you missed it – we now carry mini slimline envelopes at Simon Says Stamp! I’ll be using a Lemon Chiffon envelope when I mail this card. :)

Behind my stack of koala and tea cups, I ink blended the I Like Big Dots and Slimline Falling Snow stencils for some texture. The Distress Oxide ink colors I used include the new Kitsch Flamingo, as well as Wild Honey, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet.
