Throwback Thursday – Earth Day Edition!
Welcome to another edition of Throwback Thursday—a trip back in time!
A new exclusive Simon brand release is headed your way next week (YAY!), but today we’d like to take a look back at some recycled and repurposed projects in celebration of Earth Day! Below you’ll find three inspiring and unique projects that are beautiful AND earth friendly!
First off is this sweet altered clipboard by Shari Carroll:

Shari’s cute project is not only darling, but she was able to use a drinking straw, cardboard, and pop tops to create the petals of the flower. You can see the details of this design by Shari on our blog HERE and of course, she’s made a video showing her process which you can see on YouTube HERE.

Next, let’s throw it back to this fabulous blender brush holder by Lorraine Aquilina:

Lorraine transformed an empty cocoa container into this wow-factor blender brush holder. She used two beautiful and intricate Prima Marketing Moulds and had a blast painting, inking, and stenciling. Lorraine shared this project HERE on her blog where you will find the details of her process.

Lawn Fawn Slimline Birthday Card
Hi friends! Happy Tuesday! Please join me in welcoming back special guest Tammy Stark with an adorable card featuring lots of sweet Lawn Fawn goodies! Read on to learn more and enjoy!

Hi guys! I’m so excited to be over on the Simon Says Stamp blog with a fun birthday card, featuring Lawn Fawn. My slimline card is a nice mix of new and older products, showing how seamlessly all the sets combine to create a unique scene!
To begin, I cut Bristol smooth cardstock using the Portrait Scalloped Slimline Die. I taped off the scalloped edges with washi tape, then ink blended the background with Salty Ocean, Broken China, and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide inks. Next, I placed the Starry Sky Stencil over the top portion of the background and applied a layer of Gina K Iridescent Glitz Glitter Gel to add some shimmer and texture to my background.

Next, I stamped, colored with Copic markers, and die cut images from the following sets:
- Blue Skies
- Virtual Friends/ Coordinating Dies
- Easter Before ‘N Afters (basket for hot air balloon)
- All the Clouds
After I die cut the baskets from the Easter Before ‘N Afters, I simply cut the handle off to create a fun little basket for the critters! Next, I arranged the colored images onto my card, attaching some with foam tape for dimension.
I then stamped the Happy Birthday from Really High Five in Jet Black Premium Ink along the bottom of my card. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of Black Licorice cardstock using Clear Embossing Ink and embossed it with White Embossing Powder to complete my card.
