This week we are challenging you to create a project<\/p>\n

Based On A Book \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

You can interpret this challenge in many ways, you can use pages of a book as part of your project or use the theme of a book as your inspiration. We will be looking forward to seeing where this challenge takes you!<\/p>\n

This is Nicola’s<\/a> last week with us in the Designer Spotlight and we would like to say a huge thank you for all of your creations over the past few weeks. It has been a great pleasure to have you along with us :-)<\/p>\n

Nicola <\/a>has altered a book box following the theme of The Secret Garden. For the cover, She has used Tim Holtz Grit Paste<\/a> with The Crafter’s Workshop Mini Bricks Stencil<\/a>. The bricks are then coloured using Prima Marketing ‘Earth Tones’ Watercolor pencils <\/a>and several Tim Holtz Distress Inks<\/a>. The inside of the book box is decorated using Graphic 45 ‘Secret Garden’ papers<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Andrea<\/a> literally based her project on a book since its base is<\/em> a book!\u00a0 She transformed a book into a Rolodex-like file folder with plenty of files (made with We R Memory Keepers Tab Punch Board<\/a> and Penny Black’s Tabs and Toggles die<\/a>) and lots of fun embellishments like Tim Holtz’s Paper Dolls<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Anna-Karin<\/a> is an avid reader and this week’s project is inspired by Stephen King’s Dark Tower series. Every detail on this altered Tim Holtz Assemblage Clock<\/a> has to do with the story. She used\u00a0alcohol inks<\/a>, various stamps, and\u00a0Letterpress letters<\/a>. There is a coordinating necklace and bracelet too.<\/p>\n

Barbara<\/a> has created a card inspired by one of her favorite novels: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Victorian set by Tim Holtz \u00a0<\/a>is perfect to represent this novel. Distress ink pads<\/a>, \u00a0Tim Holtz Layering Stencil Ornate<\/a> and Crinkle ribbon<\/a> to add a vintage feel to this project!<\/p>\n

Cathie<\/a>\u00a0was inspired by the book, Beauty and the Beast. She used several Distress inks<\/a> and paint<\/a> along the Tim Holtz Flourish background stamp<\/a> to create the background for her mixed media panel and added the Tim Holtz Trellis Frameworks<\/a> die behind the vintage enchanted rose focal point.<\/p>\n

Emma<\/a>\u00a0based her project on Charles Dickens’, The Old Curiosity Shop and created a Vignette Box<\/a> of curiosities, using plenty of\u00a0Tim Holtz idea-ology pieces including Quote Chips<\/a>, Finials<\/a> and Snippets<\/a> to bring her “shop” to life!<\/p>\n

Kath<\/a> chose “The Cat In The Hat” by Dr Seuss and had lots of fun with the new Distress Oxides<\/a>, a Crazy Cat<\/a> and Tim Holtz Cling Foam Stamps<\/a><\/p>\n

One of Lols’s<\/a> favorite books is The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy and she thought that such a magnificent book should have its very own bespoke bookmark! She used a\u00a0Ringer\u00a0Stencil<\/a> and Bubble Stencil<\/a>\u00a0along with a Simon’s exclusive Ring Frame Die<\/a>\u00a0embossed in gold.<\/p>\n

Macarena<\/a>\u00a0is addicted to Robert Ludlum’s books about spies and secret agents so she made a very masculine and misteriuos card using Dapper Bigz Die<\/a> and Gadget Gears Bigz Die<\/a>\u00a0and gave it color with Dylusions Vibrant Turquoise<\/a>, Distress Ground Espresso<\/a>\u00a0and Lindy’s Tibetan Poppy Teal<\/a> sprays.<\/p>\n

Maura<\/a> went right to her favorite books from childhood, The Chronicles of Narnia, for her inspiration this week, using the Tim Holtz Framed Panel<\/a>, Darkroom Door Bookworm stamp set<\/a>, and Seth Apter’s new Limited Edition Paper Artsy Set 2<\/a> to create her wintry scene.<\/p>\n

Meihsia<\/a> created a mixed media card with an old book page and embellished it using Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Buckle<\/a> and Prima Flowers Tin Heart<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sandra’s<\/a> favorite book is The Secret Garden, she loved it since she read it as a kid. She used lots of washi tape as the base on the Distress Mixed Media #8 tag<\/a>, that she covered with Opal Magic Blue-Gold Paint<\/a> and A Bit Jaded<\/a>, Emerald Isle<\/a> and The Sage<\/a> Infusions.
