Watercolored Roses Tag by Sarah Gough<\/h4>\n

Hi there! I’m so excited to be joining May and the team this week! I love tags, especially big bold tags that can dress up a gift or a plain card base in a second. Today I’ve created a tag using die cut roses and watercolour paper with distress products, I hope you like it!<\/p>\n

Here’s a closer look at how I made this tag…<\/p>\n

Ink a manila craft tag with Antique Linen, Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed and Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink<\/a>. Add drops of Pearl Perfect Pearls Mist <\/a>by flicking the straw from the bottle onto the tag.<\/p>\n

Using a torn piece of scrap paper as a mask, stamp a text image<\/a> over the bottom of the tag in Walnut Distress ink.<\/p>\n

Ink the torn edge lightly before removing the scrap paper.<\/p>\n

Your tag base is finished – time to get decorating!<\/p>\n

Cut the large Hybrid Heirloom Rose<\/a> Die-namics from watercolor paper. Ink the base with Fired Brick<\/a>, the middle section with Barn Door<\/a> and the central section with Tattered Rose<\/a> and Barn Door. Remember to also ink the back.<\/p>\n

Assemble the rose, shaping the petals as you go. Spray with the pearl mist.<\/p>\n

Cut the Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose<\/a> Die-namics from watercolor paper. Ink in the same fashion and when dry, stamp with the text background.<\/p>\n

Cut the Large Leaf Filled Flourish Die-namics<\/a> from watercolor paper. Color with Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint and Crushed Olive Distress Markers <\/a>and blend with a water brush. Spray with the pearl mist.<\/p>\n

Using Stardust Stickles,<\/a> edge the leaves and rose petals. I like to use a rubber brush (for smudging pastels and chalks) for applying the Stickles with more control. A toothpick would do the same job!<\/p>\n

Swipe a Picket Fence Distress Marker<\/a> over the leaf tips and some of the rose petals to add highlights.<\/p>\n

Stamp the gorgeous sentiments from Fanciful Feathers by WPlus9<\/a> in Walnut Stain and Fired Brick<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Embellish your tag! I’ve added some Hemptique Twine<\/a> under the roses. I dotted around the edge of the tag with the Picket Fence marker. The tag is topped with a twill bow and some scattered jewels add a little more sparkle!<\/p>\n
