This is Alison’s\u00a0last week with us in the Designer Spotlight. We would like to say a huge thank you for all of your creations over the past month. It has been a great pleasure to have you along with us!<\/p>\n

Alison\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0I took the Tic Tac Toe diagonal of Stamp-Stencil-Spray and played in one of my favourite altered book art journals.<\/p>\n

\"SSS<\/a><\/p>\n

The lush meadow is created with lots of layers, from the Wildflower Stencil<\/a> inked in Peeled Paint Distress Ink<\/a>, to multiple stamping with the Tim Holtz Twigs<\/a> and Dried Flower stamps<\/a>, and then some of the Wildflower Thinlits<\/a> over the top, altered with embossing powder. \u00a0I used the Blossom Layering Stencil<\/a> with Ranger Transparent Matte Texture Paste <\/a>to add my cloudy blossoms at the top, and heat-embossed them with off-white powder, before spritzing around them with Tumbled Glass<\/a> and Stormy Sky Distress Spray Stains<\/a>. \u00a0The Layered Dragonfly<\/a> was made with a layer of embossed acetate so he is mouldable and catches the sunlight, as does the Large Butterfly Punch<\/a> at the foot of the Found Relatives Occasions<\/a> vintage photo. \u00a0A couple of Small Talk<\/a> sentiments and lots of inky shading and splatter finish the pages off. \u00a0I’ve had a wonderful time here this month – thank you so much for having me!<\/p>\n

Andrea<\/a> went with a stamp, cardboard, washi combo to create a fat little notebook.<\/p>\n

In all my days of crafting, this is the very first tic tac toe challenge I’ve ever done!\u00a0 And I loved it!\u00a0 Thanks, Maura, for the clever bingo grid and for helping me create something I never would’ve thought of otherwise.\u00a0 I used some of my favorite new Tim Holtz stamps for the background, namely Halftone and Rings<\/a> and Sideshow<\/a>, along with a great little stamp set from Hero Arts called My Words<\/a>.\u00a0 And I think I’ve established that I would never last long without my hand-dandy book-binding Cinch tool<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Anna-Karin<\/a> went with the first row: sequins, gold and stamps.<\/p>\n

I like to make notebooks and thought the Tim Holtz Evolution stamps<\/a> were perfect for a notebook cover. The notebook itself was made from Dina Wakley’s Media Boards<\/a>. Idea-ology metallic pieces, such as a Gadget Gear<\/a>, were coloured with Gold Alcohol Ink Mixative<\/a>. I also coloured some sequins the same way.<\/p>\n

Barbara<\/a> this week works with her favorite products!<\/p>\n

For our TIC TAC TOE I chose a diagonal line: stamp, stencil and spray! I created a mini canvas with black background , I love \u00a0the contrast with bright colors! Tim Holtz stamps HALFTONE AND RINGS\u00a0<\/a>and Dylusions paints<\/a> for the colorful \u00a0background, \u00a0Tim Holtz mini stencil set 8<\/a> \u00a0helped me to give some lights in my project with \u00a0the white Texture paste<\/a>! I used Tim Holtz’s \u00a0Butterfly <\/a>\u00a0and \u00a0Distress sprays<\/a> as watercolors to color it! I utilized the wonderful stamp \u00a0Brave by Seth Apter<\/a> \u00a0 and Tim Holtz Sizzix Die Believe<\/a> (obviously a little bit changed!) to create \u00a0my sentiment!<\/p>\n

Cathie<\/a>\u00a0decided to try a little doodling along with some of her favorite stamps.<\/div>\n

The spray, doodle and washi combination was one I wanted to try. I love to doodle and I have to admit, I spent most of my time in class doodling instead of taking notes when I was a kid. I used Dyan Reaveley’s Fancy Florals<\/a> and Background Love<\/a> stamp sets to get the doodling started and then added my own doodles. The adorable little bird is from Dina Wakley’s Scibbly Small Birdies<\/a> stamp set and painted with Paper Artsy Fresco Finish<\/a> paints. I love birds and they always make me smile which led to the sentiment I chose for my mixed media panel. I used Dyan Reaveley’s Dy’s Alphabet<\/a> stamp set for part of the sentiment.<\/div>\n

Cheiron<\/a> chose her favorite combo of spray, stencil and stamp.<\/p>\n

I decided to break out Tim’s Crazy Cats<\/a> this week to create a fun tag. I created the base of my page with Distress Spray Stains in Tumbled Glass<\/a> and Peacock Feathers<\/a>. I “stamped” onto my tag using a stencil from the Mini Stencil Set 7<\/a> using Blueprint Sketch <\/a>Distress Spray Stain. I added some Crazy Things <\/a>(tie and sunnies) and a Numbers remnant rub<\/a> and a quote band<\/a> colored in with a picket fence Distress Crayon then tied on with linen ribbon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Emma<\/a>\u00a0felt adventurous and decided to go for a full house!<\/p>\n

\"TicTacToe\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The combinations for this challenge are limitless but this week I felt adventurous and decided to go for a full house, creating a tile panel using all nine options! I started with a piece of watercolour card and spritzed the moistened card with Broken China Distress Spray Ink<\/a> and Gold Foil Color Bloom Spray<\/a>, letting the spray drip and run around the cardstock. I then added Tissue Tape<\/a> to my background before stamping with the Type stamp<\/a> and applying Texture Paste through the Tim Holtz Herringbone Layering Stencil<\/a>. Once dry, I spritzed over the top with some more sprays and added highlights of paint to create a shimmer to the background. I used the Tim Holtz Sand & Sea die<\/a> to die cut cardboard and added these together with Wildflowers<\/a>, die cut from gold metallic kraft core cardstock<\/a>. As a finishing touch, I added a scattering of sequins from the\u00a028 Lilac Lane Minty Fresh Embellishment Bottle<\/a>\u00a0and doodled around the edge with a black pen.<\/p>\n

Kath<\/a> chose the bottom line to create an art journal page with lots of doodling and washi tape on a spray background<\/p>\n

I covered the pages with a layer of White Gesso<\/a> and spritzed with Hickory Smoke Distress Stain Spray<\/a>, spritzed with water letting it run and do it’s own thing, then patted with a paper towel to lighten up the colour. I stamped the images from Hero Arts Friend Collage<\/a> randomly over the background using Hickory Smoke Distress Ink<\/a> and Ranger Wendy Vecchi Orange Blossom Archival Ink<\/a>. I then applied lots of \u00a0Idea-ology Tissue Tape<\/a> and covered the surface with Distress Collage Medium<\/a>. I stamped Hero Arts Painted Poppy<\/a> with Ranger Wendy Vecchi Tea Rose Archival<\/a> and the small flower image from Friend Collage with Sky Blue Archival <\/a>on to white cardstock and used a Fine Black Liner Pen<\/a> to doodle around the edges and in the centres of the blue flowers, cut them out and fixed to the page. I coloured strips of white card with Orange Blossom and Sky Blue Archival using the direct to paper method and doodled the sentiment with the Black Fine Liner Pen, cut them out and fixed to the page. I used the Black Soot Distress Marker<\/a> and Detailer Water Brush<\/a> to create shadows around the flowers and tissue tape and added Ranger Black Enamel Accents<\/a> to the large flower and some circle rub-ons I found in my stash.<\/p>\n

Lols\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0used the sequins\/stencil\/washi diagonal<\/p>\n

I was going to try for the full house but chickened out *wink*. I used a Tim Holtz Baby Blueprints<\/a> Stroller to make this card and made an envelope to go with it. I started by blending Tumbled Glass Distress Ink<\/a> and then stencilled Falling Hearts<\/a> over the top. I splattered Lindy’s Gang Hibiscus Rose<\/a> and Creme Br\u00fbl\u00e9e<\/a> over the top, I also used the\u00a0Hibiscus Rose<\/a>\u00a0for colouring the pram. I finished with a few Gold Sequins<\/a> and String and a strip of washi tape to finish.<\/p>\n

Macarena<\/a>‘s choice is Spray-Stencil-Stamp (with some doodling)<\/p>\n

The whole work is done on a heavy\u00a0watercolor paper<\/a>\u00a0covered randomly with\u00a0white gesso<\/a>\u00a0and with little dots made with the\u00a0Mini Tiny Circles<\/a>. The same stencil is used on the\u00a0butterflies<\/a>‘ wings but only touched with a\u00a0Hickory Smoke Distress Ink<\/a>. The butterflies are cut out and partly glued to make a very 3D effect. I love to play with sprays on wtercolor paper and gesso. The crazy effects are so inspiring that I just can’t stop! I spried some pink shades with Lindy’s \u00a0Spray (Salt Water), Dylusions Ink Spray (Cherry Pie) and lastly add some\u00a0Bubble Gum Paint<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Magicals Powder (Raspberry Lemonade)<\/a>. The glitter grey is made with Lindy’s Spray (Midnight Rendezvous)<\/a>. After have all that dry, I gentle smoothed it with\u00a0White Dylusions Paint<\/a>\u00a0and I stamped the\u00a0Out Loud<\/a>\u00a0text randomly and doodled with\u00a0Black Chaleleon.<\/a><\/p>\n

Maura<\/a> is playing high fashion bingo.<\/p>\n

I am probably the last person to ask for fashion advice unless you might be asking me about color, but Dina Wakley makes it so easy to be a fashionista with her Silhouetted Women stamps<\/a>. Pair a lovely lady with a great script background like the one from Paper Artsy Hot Picks<\/a>, dyed in Simon Says Stamp High Dive<\/a> and Jellybean <\/a>inks, and topped off with Tim Holtz’s Cracked Pistachio distress ink<\/a>, and I think we are ready for the runway. Oh, I can’t forget some blitz and bling with 28 Lilac Lane French Quarter<\/a> and Heidi Swapp Gold Lame<\/a>, and now she is ready to step out!<\/p>\n

Meihsia<\/a> created a mixed media tag using stamps, stencils and sprays.<\/div>\n

\nI really had fun creating this mixed media tag using Distress Sprays<\/a> over Tim Holtz Stencil Valentine<\/a>\u00a0on the background. There are text patterns stamped with Perfectly Stamper Anonymous<\/a>\u00a0on the tag. I adhered some metal embellishments<\/a> and Prima Flowers<\/a>\u00a0using Tombow Mono Glue.<\/a><\/p>\n

Sandra<\/a> went for sequins-stencil-washi combo<\/p>\n

\nHad so much fun with this challenge.\u00a0I’ve started with creating the background of the tag. With Frayed Burlap<\/a> and Broken China<\/a> I’ve build up the first layer to create a sandy beach scene. Then I’ve used the Ringer<\/a> stencil and went over it with the same Distress colors. The whimsical beach house is from Simon Says Stamps newest release Amongst the Stars<\/a>. It’s one of Suzy’s Sizzling Water Color Paintable Prints<\/a>. I’ve colored it in with Prima Water Color Pencils<\/a>. The look was a bit to bright so I went over it with Antique Linen<\/a> Distress Ink.<\/p>\n

Zoey<\/a>\u00a0choose the trio Blue\/Stencil\/Cardboard and made this tag<\/p>\n

I used a bunch of Distress Paint<\/a>\u00a0in the range of blue green and yellow to create my backrgound, then I used two stencils by Tim Holtz<\/a>…and of course the base of my tag was cardboard! I used a sizzix die to cut my tag shape from the cardboard. as always to finish it off I used a stickers from the Tim Holtz ideaology stickers sheets.<\/p>\n
