MAKE A WISH\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

We usually \u00a0‘Make A Wish’ before blowing out the birthday candles, but you could create something with a wish in mind. I wish I was lying on a beach listening to the waves and reading a good book. What is YOUR wish? We will look forward to seeing what you make!<\/p>\n

Kassa<\/a>\u00a0created a postcard sized birthday party!<\/p>\n

I used a piece of\u00a0Dina Wakley’s Media Board<\/a>\u00a0trimmed to postcard size and I coated with \u00a0Ranger Texture Paste<\/a>,\u00a0Tim Holtz’s\u00a0Crazing Medium<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0Distress Paint<\/a>,\u00a0Distress ink Spray<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Distress Crayons<\/a>. I used a\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Tim Holtz Sizzix Mini Bird Crazy Stamps & Thinlits Dies<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Tim Holtz Sizzix Framelits Birthday Blueprint Stamp<\/a>\u00a0to create a party. I finished with<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Abandoned Coral Distress Spray\u00a0<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and stained\u00a0<\/span>Ideaology Crinkle Ribbon<\/a>. I think the cupcake l<\/span>ooks good enough to eat!<\/p>\n

Andrea<\/a> made an altered tin assemblage featuring a classy wish-catcher.<\/p>\n

I got to thinking about wishes and what happens to all of the ones that get lost in the fast-paced big city.\u00a0 So I made a “wish catcher” girl to gather up any stray wishes and make sure they get answered.\u00a0 The girl is from Tim Holtz’s Occasions Found Relatives<\/a> card set and her dress is covered with polka-dot<\/a> and striped Washi tape<\/a> from Doodlebug.\u00a0 The city background is made with a very cool double stamp\/stencil set from Stampendous called Urban Scribble<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Anna-Karin<\/a> made a scrapbooking layout this week, full of wishes.<\/p>\n

\"make_a_wish-Layers-of-ink\"<\/a><\/p>\n

My boys’ birthdays are close to each other and this layout is about making wishes and following your dreams. I had fun doing a mixed media scenic background using Tim Holtz dies<\/a>, stamps<\/a>, stencils and Distress Paint<\/a>. I had been waiting for the Wildflowers<\/a> dies and was happy to use them here. I also used some of Tim’s mini stencils, featuring two of my favourite designs, from set 8<\/a> and set 9<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Barbara<\/a> loves to have wishes!<\/p>\n

I interpreted this challenge in a very personal way, I wanted to express something that is very important for me: keep the same curiosity and the same wishes that \u00a0all kids of the world have! \u00a0To make \u00a0this I used one of the photos from Found Relatives \u00a0Portraits<\/a> and I created a canvas using Tim Holtz Idea-ology FRAMED PANEL <\/a>. For my background Tim Holtz Sizzix CROSSHATCH Frameworks <\/a>cut on \u00a0Core’dinations Metallic Cardstock<\/a>\u00a0 painted with Alcohol Inks<\/a> lights my work. To complete the dreamy atmosphere I used stars<\/a> and butterflies<\/a> in subtle colors.<\/p>\n

Cathie\u00a0<\/a>created a colorful tag with stars raining down representing many wishes.<\/p>\n

I created my background using several different colors of Distress Spray Stains<\/a>. The stars were applied with the Heidi Swapp Confetti Stencil<\/a> along with Ranger Gloss Transparent Texture Paste<\/a>. I applied several stamps from the Tim Holtz Ultimate Grunge<\/a> set along with a couple of his single clear stamps, Umbrella Man<\/a> and Weathered Clock<\/a>. My flowers were created using the Tattered Florals Bigz die cut out of corrugated paper and sprayed with more distress spray stains.<\/p>\n

Cheiron<\/a> created a wish tag with a reminder to keep wishing.<\/p>\n

I made this little tag this week as a reminder to keep on believing. I started off by painting two tags with Distress Paint in Mustard Seed<\/a> and Victorian Velvet<\/a>, and cutting one with the Mixed Media 2<\/a> die and layering them together. I added Alphanumeric Marquee<\/a> letters, some remnant rubs<\/a>, big chat and a mirrored star. I finished the tag up with some Crinkle Ribbon colored with Distress Stain and a spritz with my marker spritzer.<\/p>\n

Kath<\/a>\u00a0made a notepad to jot down all the items on her crafty Wish List<\/p>\n

I removed the clip from the Idea-ology Mini Clipboard <\/a>and painted it with Ranger Black Gesso<\/a>. I created the notepad using papers from the Wallflower Paper Stash<\/a> trimming them slightly smaller than the clipboard and scoring 3\/4″ down from the edge. I created a collage for the front of the notepad by layering small pieces of Wallflower papers and fixing them in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte<\/a>. I created a shadow around each piece using the Walnut Stain Distress Crayon<\/a> and highlighted with the Sharpie White Extra Fine Point Marker.<\/a> I used Tim Holtz Sizzix Writing Desk <\/a>die to cut the feather from the Idea-ology White Substrate Sheet<\/a> inked the edges with the Hickory Smoke Mini Ink Pad <\/a>and stamped Ledger Script<\/a> with Black Archival<\/a>. I die cut the inkpot from Tim Holtz Co’redinations Kraft Core<\/a>\u00a0sanded lightly, decorated with a Vial Label<\/a> and coated in Glossy Accents<\/a>. I added Pen Nibs<\/a>, stars from Christmastime Remnant Rubs<\/a>,\u00a0Chitchat Stickers<\/a> and Alpha Tiles<\/a>. To finish off I applied Ranger Vintage Transfer Foil<\/a> Cream and Gold to highlight the edges, the pen nibs, the feather and the clip.<\/p>\n

Lols<\/a> is wishing her brother a Happy Birthday!<\/p>\n

The Tim Holtz Birthday Blueprints Cling Stamp Set<\/a> is one of my all time favourites and perfect for both feminine and masculine cards. I stamped the cupcake with Jet Black Stazon<\/a> and coloured with Peacock Feathers<\/a>, Squeezed Lemonade<\/a> and Antique Linen<\/a> Distress Inks, I then masked the image and splattered with Dylusions\u00a0Fresh Lime <\/a>and Vibrant Turquoise<\/a> inks. \u00a0The Peacock Feathers Ink coordinates beautifully with Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue Card Stock <\/a>so I used that for layering and then found a scrap of lime plaid to do down the edge. I finished with Washi Tape, Tim Holtz Paper String <\/a>and a few dabs of Star Dust Stickles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Macarena <\/a>wishes for a colorful starry summer nights!<\/p>\n

For my background made on\u00a0Watercolor Paper<\/a>, I used\u00a0Dylusions Sprays<\/a>\u00a0then I put\u00a0Clear Embossing Ink<\/a>\u00a0through the\u00a0Prima stencil<\/a>\u00a0and heat embossed with\u00a0Clear Embossing Powder<\/a>\u00a0by Simon Says Stamp. After that I covered the page with\u00a0Dylusions Black Paint<\/a>\u00a0ans the colors popped up from underneath the black.\u00a0Between the black and blank space I used dark blue and purple\u00a0Distress Inks\u00a0<\/a>to get an effect of an irregular night sky. I die cut two lines of houses from a heavy cardboard, covered with\u00a0gesso<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Dylusions Sprays<\/a>. Finally gave\u00a0Glossy Accents<\/a>\u00a0which brighten the colors and made them vibrant. After that I stamped some details with\u00a0White Ink<\/a>, put the stars and to give a final touch of night shining sky, I adhered randomly\u00a0Gold Foil by Prima<\/a>.\u00a0Finally I cut out the sentiment with\u00a0Alphanumeric Dies<\/a>\u00a0which I just love!<\/p>\n

Lots of birthday wishes are happening at Maura’s<\/a> house this month.<\/p>\n

I was inspired to make this little birthday card after watching a video on the Simon Says Stamp You Tube channel. I took out my Distress Crayons<\/a> and started coloring, and then used the Tim Holtz Honeycomb stenci<\/a>l to add some texture with my Ranger Heat tool<\/a>. I love the sweet little images from the Simon Says Stamp Baby Party Animals<\/a> and Cuddly Critters <\/a>(from the My Favorite collection)\u00a0stamp sets. I’m happy I tried this new technique!<\/p>\n

Meihsia<\/a> was inspired to create a mixed media tag this week.<\/p>\n

Tags are always one of my favorite projects to create. On this tag, I embossed the background with Tim Holtz Stamp<\/a>, Clearsnap Inkpad<\/a> and ColorBox Embossing Powder<\/a>. To make the sentiment, I pasted the Alpha Parts letter stickers<\/a>\u00a0“wish” after colored them with Distress Paints<\/a>. Some Prima Flowers<\/a> and Tim Holtz metal embellishments<\/a> were adhered on the tag using Tombow Mono Glue<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nThese months are for me kind of a\u00a0birthday card season. And I’m so glad that this challenge came along. I made a boy and girl version of the card. I used the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Frame<\/a> die as my base and used lots of Washi tape<\/a> to stick it down and build up my card. For the background stamping I chose Read To Me<\/a>\u00a0stamp with Archival Ink Jet Black<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Zoey<\/a>\u00a0altered a Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Vignette Panels<\/a>\u00a0to create an unique ATC<\/p>\n

I love these little Vignette Panel<\/a>s and altering them was super easy – I used a bit of Tissue Wrap Paper<\/a> and a mix of Tissue Tape<\/a>\u00a0that then I covered with a bit of Gesso.<\/a>\u00a0I used Distress Crayons<\/a> to add color and the Tim Holtz Distress Paint Metallic Shades<\/a> to add some light! For the decoration…well..everything is easier when you mix and match Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Ephemera Pack<\/a> , Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Photobooth <\/a>and the Tim Holtz Stickers!<\/a><\/p>\n
