Using felt is very ‘on trend’ tight now and being the trendy bunch that we are we thought we should use some too!<\/p>\n

Kassa<\/a>\u00a0transformed an old plank of wood into a beautiful piece of art!<\/p>\n

I die-cut the\u00a0Simon Says Stamp Black Spring Plush Wool Felt Sheets<\/a>\u00a0using\u00a0Tim Holtz Sizzix Mixed Media Thinlits Die<\/a>, the dimonds easily fell out of the die creating a beautiful texture to my background. \u00a0The felt looks cool coated with a thin, random layer of \u00a0Dina Wakley’s White Gesso<\/a>\u00a0, which when dry colorises perfectly with various shades of\u00a0Tim Holtz Distress Paints<\/a>. \u00a0I am in love with this\u00a0Tim Holtz Flower Garden Stamp\u00a0<\/a>which I’ve heavily layered and added stitches here and there.<\/p>\n

Andrea<\/a>\u00a0‘felt’ like making some cute little baby booties.<\/p>\n

Last time I followed a sewing pattern was when I was in junior high or high school and made one of those satin-backed floral vests that was all the rage in the 90’s.\u00a0 And even then, I did it totally wrong.\u00a0 Needless to say, it was terrifying to follow a pattern again!\u00a0 But I couldn’t resist trying to whip up some baby booties using white<\/a>, pink<\/a> and blue<\/a> felt along with some great die cut flowers<\/a> from Avery Elle.<\/p>\n

Anna-Karin<\/a> made a summery felt tag.<\/p>\n

We are showcasing the wonderful Simon Says Stamp Spring Plush collection<\/a> this week, but my parcel got held up somewhere along the way and didn’t arrive here in time (I bet I will get it today), so I had to improvise a bit. If you back it with paper, felt works great as an entire background for a card or, as in this case, a tag. I had fun combining felt and Sizzix Paper Leather<\/a> for my sunflower, die cut with the Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Radiant Sunflower <\/a>die. The paper was coloured with Prima’s Classics watercolour set<\/a>. You can die cut even detailed wafer-thin dies, such as words<\/a>, from felt.<\/p>\n

Barbara<\/a> has mixed paper, distress inks and felt!<\/p>\n

Simon Says Stamp Spring Plush<\/a> release is absolutely a sweet collection! It’s beautiful and well suited to those who like me is not really a specialist in sewing! For my card I used SWIRL FLOWERS AND LEAVES Wafer Dies <\/a>\u00a0: it’s amazing, very easy to do and beautiful to see. I also used a card from Simon Says Stamp SUZY’S WATERCOLOR EVERY OCCASION NOTES<\/a> painted with Distress inks in colors matched to the felt<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Cathie<\/a>\u00a0used household items to create the images on her felt background.<\/div>\n

I used a piece of Simon Says Stamp White Felt<\/a> \u00a0to create my background panel. I added interest using household items, ink and paints. For the flowers, I used the lovely Simon Says Stamp Plush Daffodil and Daisy<\/a>\u00a0wafer dies along with the Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers Hearts<\/a> die set to create the pretty flowers on my panel. The letters are made out of black card stock<\/a> using My Favorite Things Little Letters<\/a>.<\/div>\n

Cheiron<\/a> combined some felt hearts with a mixed media background to create her card.<\/div>\n

I used the Simon Says Stamp Pastel Felt Sheets<\/a>\u00a0to cut out a bunch a hearts using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Heartfelt die. I stamped my sentiment from the \u00a0Handwritten Thoughts set and created a background around the sentiment using gesso through a mini Stencil from the Mini Stencil 7 <\/a>set. I applied Distress paints using my fingers in Cracked Pistachio<\/a>, Squeezed Lemonade<\/a> and Dried Marigold<\/a> to color my background, then adhered the felt hearts to the card front.<\/p>\n

Kath<\/a>\u00a0decorated a calico bag with lots of die cut felt flowers as a gift for a girlfriend who’s a keen gardener.

\nI used Taylored Expressions Felt Peach<\/a>\u00a0Green<\/a>\u00a0and Pink<\/a> Bundles\u00a0along with the Plush Blooming Heart<\/a> die from Simon Says Stamp Spring Blush release to create the border, flowers and leaves. I created the decorative stitching using contrasting colours of floss<\/a> and added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Cupped Sequins<\/a>\u00a0for a bit of girly bling. I created the tag from Ranger Natural Sticky Back Canvas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lols<\/a> made a ‘Welcome Banner’ for her garden<\/p>\n

I have been thinking about making a banner for my garden for quite a while and when this theme came up I thought it was a perfect opportunity to get on with it! I used a Lawn Fawn Stitched Party Banners Die<\/a> to cut scraps of cream colored fabric\u00a0then stamped the rings using Aquamarine Archival Ink<\/a> and a Tim Holtz Halftone and Rings Cling Stamp<\/a>. I cut the letters out printer paper using a Silhouette Cameo<\/a> and used them as a pattern for cutting the felt. I used a pack of Simon Says Stamp Pastel Felt<\/a> and the bright pink sheet from a Lipstick Party Felt Pack<\/a>. I used the same colors of felt and a Tattered Florals Die<\/a> to make a decorative finish.<\/p>\n

Macarena <\/a>felt a strong temptation to go out her comfort zone!<\/p>\n

This project is my very FIRST adventure with felt, ever!\u00a0This canvas panel is so far away from my comfort zone!\u00a0Anyway, please take a look and maybe it inspires you somehow.\u00a0Take a canvas panel, cover it randomly with\u00a0White Gesso<\/a>, let it dry.\u00a0Smooth the background with\u00a0Distress Stains<\/a>, spray with water and blend colors.\u00a0Put randomly sone colors of\u00a0Distress Inks<\/a>\u00a0through the\u00a0stencils<\/a>. \u00a0Stamp any patterns with\u00a0Black Jet ink<\/a>, moderate with\u00a0White Gesso<\/a>.\u00a0Splash with\u00a0Black<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0White Paint<\/a>, paint the edges with\u00a0Black Paint<\/a>.\u00a0Apply a layer of White Paint on the top of a bottle and stamp some circles.\u00a0Accent the circles with a\u00a0Black Chameleon<\/a>\u00a0and here you have the ackground!\u00a0Cut out a heart from\u00a0White Felt<\/a>.\u00a0Spray\u00a0Dylusions<\/a>\u00a0on the mate and dip it in each color randomly.\u00a0Cut the heart into two, make holes and pass the twine through them.\u00a0Stamp\u00a0Ponderings<\/a>\u00a0on clear acetate with\u00a0Emossing Ink<\/a>\u00a0and cover with\u00a0White Embossing Powder<\/a>. Adhere with clear double sided tape.<\/p>\n

Do you have supplies in your stash that you haven’t used in forever? Well, I know I do, and when rediscovered, it’s playtime for certain. I pulled out my Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks<\/a> to play with on Yupo Paper<\/a> and boy, did I have fun! I used my Simon Says Stamp Plush Daffodil and Daisy die<\/a> to cut some flowers out of Simon’s Pastel Felt<\/a>. Then, I hung it in my Tim Holtz Flip Frame<\/a> which I love. Ah, a breath of spring.<\/p>\n

Meihsia<\/a> loves to experiment with different materials on her art journal.<\/p>\n

\nI always love to experiment mixed medias and colors. This week, I had so much fun to die cut and sew these felt<\/a> hearts on my art journal using these Heart Wafer Dies<\/a>. Some Tim Holtz metal embellishments<\/a> and Big Chat Stickers<\/a>\u00a0were attached on this page.\u00a0To create a vibrant color scheme, I dabbed\u00a0Distress Paints<\/a>\u00a0on this page.<\/p>\n

\nFelt is so trendy right now, so I love that we’re challenge to use it in our projects. I used it like I normally would use cardstock, or another type of material like cork or burlap. I’ve used White Felt<\/a> along with the Big Hugs Die<\/a> from Simon Says Stamp. The background I’ve made with the Simon Says\u00a0Stamp\u00a0Leaves Mask<\/a>, Faded Jeans<\/a> Distress Ink and Prussian Brusho<\/a>. The explosion of color effect of the Brusho is so pretty.<\/p>\n

Zoey<\/a>\u00a0used Simon Says Stamp Plus Puffy Clouds<\/a> to make a bookmark<\/p>\n

I added color to the Manila Tag<\/a>\u00a0blending a bunch of Distress Crayons<\/a> together – I die cut the top and two smalls rain drops with the Simon Says Stamp Plush Puffy Clouds<\/a>\u00a0and then I decorated the tag with stamps and tissue tape. I also die cut the same Puffy Clouds with Simon Says Stamp Wool Felt Black<\/a>\u00a0and glued it down in the top to create a Bookmark!<\/p>\n
