This week the challenge is<\/p>\n

EMBOSS IT<\/span><\/h2>\n

This week we are using embossing folders, heat embossing and using embossing pastes. If you can think of other ways to emboss we would love to see your techniques too!<\/p>\n

Kassa<\/a>\u00a0used a\u00a0Tim Holtz Sizzix Dragonfly Die with Texture Fades\u00a0<\/a>as\u00a0the focal point of this page<\/p>\n

\u00a0I colored the dragonfly with\u00a0\u00a0Distress Paints<\/a>\u00a0and used\u00a0\u00a0Ink Shiny Transfer Foil Sheets<\/a>\u00a0and a\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Newsprint & Type stamp<\/a>\u00a0for the wings.\u00a0I also used a \u00a0Tim Holtz Sizzix Typewriter & Keyboards Embossing Folder<\/a>, I\u00a0cut out the ‘buttons’ once embossed to add more interest and dimension. For the background I\u00a0used\u00a0Distress Crayons<\/a>\u00a0blended over\u00a0Ranger Inks Frosted crystal embossing powder<\/a>, I\u00a0love the colorful effect this technique gives.
\n<\/span><\/div>\n
To finish I used black cotton thread,\u00a0Tim Holtz Ideaology Occasions Small Talk Stickers<\/a>\u00a0a few color coordinated \u00a0Sequins<\/a>\u00a0and paint splatters.<\/span><\/div>\n

Andrea<\/a> used embossing paste<\/a> to add tantalizing texture to her house tin.<\/p>\n

Nothing gets me more giddy than cute tiny tins just begging for a revamp!\u00a0 I used some of Wendy Vecchi’s White Embossing Paste<\/a> on the background of my tin, which I stamped patterns into and then sprayed with Distress Stain<\/a>.\u00a0 I layered on some paper embellishments cut with Tim Holtz’s Sizzix Mixed Media 3 die<\/a>.\u00a0 I also used the Hero Arts 3D Fancy House die<\/a>, which I cut in half, to make my happy little house for the focal point of my tin.<\/p>\n

Anna-Karin<\/a> was inspired by some magnets she made years ago, to play around with UTEE<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"UTEE-board\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I recently found a bunch of magnets covered in layers of Ranger’s Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel<\/a>, which I made\u00a0over ten years ago. These two mini panels were made from the smallest of Dina Wakley’s Media Boards<\/a>. They were stamped with lovely stamps<\/a> by Wendy Vecchi and coloured with Distress Crayons<\/a>. Finally, they were coated with layers of UTEE<\/a>, adding a few coloured embossing powders to the last layer to create even more depth.<\/p>\n

Barbara <\/a>has chosen the sea as a theme of her tag because it works perfectly with embossing powders technique!<\/p>\n

You know I love the sea theme!The\u00a0<\/a> Tim Holtz\u00a0Sand and Sea Die<\/a>\u00a0is perfect for this challenge! I love to \u00a0mix embossing powders. For my project I used\u00a0Stampendous Enamel Embossing Powders<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0Shabby White<\/a>, \u00a0Aged Ivory<\/a> and a \u00a0little pinch of Aged Copper<\/a>.\u00a0My background was created with the Paper mosaic<\/a> technique: it seems to really look like the ocean!<\/p>\n

Cathie<\/a>\u00a0used three different embossing techniques on her mixed media piece.<\/p>\n

For my piece, I created three different backgrounds using a Tim Holtz Postcard<\/a> embossing folder, Harlequin stencil<\/a> and the Mini Stash Collage paper<\/a> collection. Embossing die cut elements with Distress Embossing Powders<\/a>, like I did on my Caged Bird<\/a> and Bird Branch<\/a> is so much fun. It’s exciting to sprinkle the powders in random areas and see the final results after heating.<\/p>\n

Cheiron<\/a> created an embossed frame colored with Distress Crayons to highlight her stamped image.<\/p>\n

For my project this week, I used the Ornate Frame 2 Sizzix Die<\/a> to highlight my stamped image from the Tim Holtz\u00a0Evolution<\/a> set. I stamped my image and placed the frame where I wanted it to be then, traced a pencil line inside the framed area and painted over the area outside the line with Distress Collage Crazing<\/a> medium. I then colored over the crazing with Distress Crayons<\/a> and rubbed them in with my fingers. I embossed the frame with Ranger Black Embossing Powder<\/a> and also went over the frame with Distress Crayons for some colorful texture.<\/p>\n

Emma<\/a>\u00a0used a beautiful Tim Holtz Crosshatch Frameworks Die<\/a>\u00a0to create an embossed panel on her canvas!<\/p>\n

For my project this week, I decided to create a playful canvas full of texture, dimension and embossing. I began by using the Crosshatch Frameworks Die<\/a>\u00a0to die cut four panels from chipboard which\u00a0I then attached to my canvas to create a raised, embossed area. I used Distress Crayons and Distress Paints to add colour to my background before creating further texture by embossing metal foil tape panels, using the Bullseye Texture Fade<\/a>,\u00a0die cut with the Mosaic die<\/a>,\u00a0to create pieces that could be layered onto my background, together with idea-ology Gear Findings<\/a>, vintage ephemera<\/a> and a Found Relative photo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kath<\/a>\u00a0created a card using a favourite Texture Fade, Distress Crayons and lots of embossing powders<\/p>\n

For this week’s project I used the Postale Texture Fade<\/a> to emboss white cardstock, coloured with Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Peacock Feathers from Distress Crayons Set 1<\/a>.I applied Distress Collage Medium Matte<\/a> with the Distress Collage Brush<\/a> to seal the surface ready for stamping and embossing.\u00a0I inked the Halftone Stamp<\/a> with Versamark Ink<\/a> and embossed with Ranger White Embossing Powder<\/a>. I die cut the flowers from black cardstock and Distress Woodgrain<\/a> card using the Sizzix Tim Holtz Wildflowers Thinlits<\/a>. I sprinkled a mixture of \u00a0Chunky White<\/a>, Shabby Green<\/a> and Aged Black <\/a>Stampendous Frantage Embossing Enamels randomly over the card and heated from underneath until set.\u00a0I tore a strip of vellum<\/a> and embossed with the Postale wording before fixing across the bottom of the card. I coloured the Idea-ology\u00a0Crinkle ribbon<\/a> with Picked Raspberry Distress Spray Stain<\/a> to create a double bow.<\/p>\n

Macarena <\/a>is chasing happiness in colors and textures!<\/p>\n

First I sprayed all the base with\u00a0Dylusions Ink Sprays<\/a>.\u00a0After that I put the\u00a0Embossing Ink<\/a>\u00a0through the\u00a0Prima stencil<\/a>,\u00a0sprinkled with\u00a0Clear Embossing Powder<\/a>\u00a0and melted with Heat Tool.\u00a0I covered all the surface with\u00a0Black Paint by Dylusions<\/a>.\u00a0Stamped randomly\u00a0Rough It Up<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Stitched<\/a>\u00a0stamps,\u00a0covered by\u00a0White Powder<\/a>\u00a0and heated.\u00a0I cut some\u00a0Wildflowers<\/a>\u00a0dies out form a cardstock\u00a0misted with\u00a0Dylusions Sprays<\/a>.\u00a0Using the same sprays I colored a piece of cardstock and cut\u00a0Happiness<\/a>.\u00a0All the die-cuts were fixed with 3D foam dots.\u00a0Finally I splashed all the card with\u00a0White Paint<\/a>.\u00a0It’s my first time using this great technique with clear embossing but I love it!<\/p>\n

Three “little” birds have a birthday this month at Maura’s<\/a> house.<\/p>\n

Well, none of us are really little birds, but we are a little crazy, so of course I had to use Tim Holtz’s Bird Crazy stamps<\/a> on my Ranger tags<\/a>. I painted my tags with Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Acrylic paints in Zesty Zing<\/a>, Yellow Submarine<\/a>, Limelight<\/a>, and Beach Hut<\/a>, then embossed them. My birds are all dressed up and ready to party with their Tim Holtz Garden Flower<\/a> party hats!<\/p>\n

Meihsia<\/a> was inspired to create \u00a0a wall hanging with both heat embossing and dry embossing.<\/p>\n

I decided to use both heat embossing and dry embossing on my mixed media canvas wall hanging for this week’s challenge. After applying some Modeling Paste<\/a> to create texture on the background of the canvas, I pasted a piece of card stock embossed with Tim Holtz Bingo Embossing Folder<\/a>\u00a0on the canvas. The edges and corners of this canvas were colored with Distress Paints<\/a> and heat embossed with ColorBox Clear Embossing Powder<\/a>.<\/div>\n

Most of the time I only heat emboss sentiments, but for this card I wanted some texture made with it, instead of using a stencil with texture paste. This is more subtle. I used the Halftones & Rings<\/a> stamp set along with Versa Mark<\/a> and Black Embossing Powder<\/a>. I couldn’t resist to also heat emboss the sentiments with White Embossing Powder<\/a> on the balloons I cut out with my Silhouette Cameo<\/a>.ZoeySo now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start creating! I loved to decorate these colorful life reminders with Ranger Dylusions Paints Bubblegum Pink<\/a> and Lemon Squeeze<\/a>\u00a0, then I added some touches of interest with the Tim Holtz Idea-Ology postale tissue wrap paper <\/a>and Prima Flowers D0n’t forget to fly stamps set<\/a>..and everything was made texturized with the awesome Tim Holtz Sizzix Bubble & Honeycomb fades embossing folders!<\/a><\/p>\n
