Beulah<\/a>\u00a0decided to add\u00a0to her collection of tags this week!<\/p>\n

\"Embrace-Simon\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I put my sewing machine to good use this week and stitched a piece of\u00a0Eclectic Elements<\/a>\u00a0fabric? to a manila tag then stamped it with tiny butterflies from Prima (Noble Darling Royal Menagerie<\/a>). A mini box made from cardboard was lined with an old dictionary page to frame a\u00a0Journaling Ticket<\/a>\u00a0embellished with a butterfly cut from\u00a0Wallflower Vellum<\/a>\u00a0along with some text stamping (Ledger Script<\/a>) and a Small Talk sticker. A button,\u00a0Lace Trimmings<\/a>\u00a0and string dyed with\u00a0Black Soot Distress Ink<\/a>\u00a0helped to emphasize the textile theme.<\/p>\n

Andrea<\/a> flew straight to her new Seth Apter products to make this beautiful butterfly card.<\/p>\n

I really like the gritty look of Seth Apter’s products, but I wondered what would happen when grit met Spring!\u00a0 It was a combo I had to try and I loved experimenting with his Drip Drop<\/a> and Coffee Ring<\/a> die sets, along with his Gridiron embossing folder<\/a>.\u00a0 And of course I got my butterfly on with a border die from Memory Box called, Blissful Butterfly<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Anna-Karin<\/a> made some clay butterflies for a shadow box.<\/p>\n

I wanted to try out Prima’s paper clay<\/a> since I hadn’t used clay for quite some time. The butterflies were made with the WOW Butterfly Trio<\/a> silicon mold and painted with Distress Paints once they were dry. I also made a big heart from clay and stamped it with two stamps from the Iron Orchids<\/a> set. The shadow box was distressed with Rust Paste<\/a> and I also embellished with metallic butterflies<\/a> by Finnabair.<\/p>\n

Barbara<\/a> has always loved butterflies for their incredible colors!<\/p>\n

I always loved butterflies: they are ethereal and colorful at the same time and for me have always represented freedom! This week I created a mixed media canvas \u00a0playing with \u00a0Distress crayons<\/a> ,Texture paste transparent gloss<\/a> \u00a0and Tim holtz’s \u00a0stencils.<\/a> Among all the butterflies of every shape and size that I own, I chose Tim Holtz\/Sizzix Layered Butterfly<\/a> for its size and for its versatility! I colored with Distress sprays<\/a> and I highlighted the reliefs with the powder Stampendous Aged black. New display hanger \u00a0by Idea-ology made my project \u00a0perfect to be hung!<\/p>\n

Cathie<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0loves adding butterflies to her projects because their beauty captures a spirit like no other<\/p>\n

Detailed Butterflies<\/a>\u00a0by Sizzix\u00a0along with the Butterfly Frenzy<\/a> decorative strip are perfect examples of this beauty when paired together. Combining these two die sets is like walking into a butterfly garden with butterflies of all shapes and sizes. \u00a0I perched my butterflies on the Bird Branch<\/a> die from Sizzix and topped off my project with twine string<\/a>, a crinkle bow, an adorable Heart Charm<\/a> from Idea-ology and cut out my sentiment from the Alphanumeric Thinlits<\/a> die set from Tim Holtz.<\/p>\n

Cheiron<\/a> used one of her favorite butterfly stamp sets to create her tags.<\/p>\n

I used this challenge to have some playtime with one of my favorite stamp sets from Dina Wakley, Scribbly Insects<\/a>. \u00a0I made the tag backgrounds by smooshing some watered down Dina Wakley Media paints<\/a> and added some texture with the Mini Favorites<\/a> and Bendy Pinwheels<\/a> stencils. I painted my butterflies loosely and cut them out and added some coordinating sentiments from the Handwritten Quotes<\/a> stamp set.<\/p>\n

Emma<\/a>\u00a0can never resist the beauty of butterflies!<\/p>\n

\"EmmaButterfly\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Butterflies are such magical creatures and I always enjoy creating projects that incorporate the images, especially when the image is as beautiful as this stamp from the Perspective stamp set by Tim Holtz<\/a>. I watercolored my stamp with Distress Marker Pens before adding it to a canvas background created using Distress Crayons<\/a>. I added texture to the background using the Industrial<\/a> and Splatters<\/a> Layering Stencils and Texture Paste before completing the project with a Quote Band<\/a>, crinkle ribbon bow and a Dapper Fastener<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kath<\/a>\u00a0couldn’t resist some more Distress Crayon playtime with Detailed Butterflies<\/p>\n

\"SSS\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I used Textile Surfaces<\/a> to create a panel which could be used as a wall hanger or the cover of an album. I used the flourish die from Mixed Media 2 <\/a>and paper from Regions Beyond Mini Stash<\/a> to create the centre panel. I applied Texture Paste <\/a>through the Brick Stencil from Mini Stencil Set 3, <\/a>applied a coat of Distress Collage Medium Matte<\/a> and coloured \u00a0with the Spiced Marmalade Distress Crayon<\/a> from Set 1<\/a>. I die cut the Detailed Butterflies<\/a> and coloured with the Spiced Marmalade and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Crayons<\/a>. Applied Texture Paste <\/a>through the Bubble Stencil<\/a> from Mini Stencil Set.<\/a> I added flowers die cut from Regions Beyond paper and Core’dinations Kraft Core using Wildflowers Thinlits<\/a>. \u00a0Added a Crinkle Ribbon <\/a>bow coloured with Broken China Distress Spray Stain<\/a>, Big Chat Stickers<\/a> and Idea-ology Alpha Dic<\/a>e<\/p>\n

Lols<\/a>\u00a0had fun making\u00a0a colorful spring tag!<\/p>\n

I love the Tim Holtz Melange Tissue Wrap<\/a> and used this as the base for my tag. I glued a piece to a plain white piece of card and then die cut using a \u00a0Framelits Tag.<\/a> I then used Squeezed Lemonade<\/a>, Spiced Marmalade<\/a> and Picked Raspberry<\/a> Inks before splattering with White Linen Ink <\/a>and stamping with some Wildflowers<\/a>\u00a0finishing with a die cut Wildflower<\/a> Silhouette.\u00a0 I used a Butterfly Duo<\/a>\u00a0die and cut the butterfly out of corrugated card<\/a>. I added some Bubblegum<\/a>, \u00a0and Glacier White<\/a> Paints at random and splattered with Black Ink<\/a>. I stitched the edges and finished with a strip of \u00a0Industrious Borders<\/a> and Small Talk<\/a> Stickers.<\/p>\n

Butterflies and dragonflies are my fave nature miracles, I love this challenge! My canvas is very natural with neutral background colors and colorful popping butterflies. I\u00a0cut some\u00a0Casual Trees<\/a>\u00a0in a heavy cardboard. \u00a0I tore some pieces from an old french book and adhered them to the canvas with Mod Podge<\/a>. Then put the diecuts and treated with Mod Podge<\/a> as well.\u00a0Covered all the surface with a thin layer of\u00a0White Gesso<\/a>.\u00a0Blended\u00a0Distress Inks<\/a>\u00a0randomly on the surface, spritz with water touching the wet drops with a tissue to obtain irregular colors.\u00a0Stamped stitches arround the canvas with\u00a0Archival Ink<\/a>\u00a0and put the\u00a0Black Soot Distress Ink<\/a>\u00a0through the\u00a0Organic Matter Mask<\/a>\u00a0randomly.\u00a0Outlined the edges of diecuts with Black Chameleon Pen.\u00a0Cut out\u00a0Butterflies<\/a>\u00a0from a watercolor paper, stamped them randomly, colored with Distress Inks and outlined the edges.\u00a0Cut a\u00a0Handwritten Love<\/a>\u00a0word from a heavy cardboard and heat\u00a0emboss<\/a>ed\u00a0it.\u00a0Covered the letters with\u00a0Crackled Texture Paste<\/a>\u00a0and let them dry.\u00a0After that put the same natural Distress colors as for the background. The Spring is in the air!<\/p>\n

Maura<\/a> is having a hard time resisting butterflies this week.<\/p>\n

It’s all about cards for me this week, that is Heidi Swapp Butterflies Mixed Media cards<\/a>! The resist designs make it easy to create a beautiful card. I used the Tim Holtz Distress inks like Picked Raspberry<\/a>, Twisted Citron<\/a>, and Wilted Violet<\/a>\u00a0to add color to the butterflies. I added some fun finishing touches like the Tim Holtz pen nib\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0and Fleur de Lis<\/a>\u00a0from the Tim Holtz French Flight set to cover up some mistakes, and now the cards are ready for the mail.<\/p>\n

Meihsia<\/a> created a mixed media tag with many beautiful butterflies.<\/div>\n

For this week’s challenge, I decided to cut out some butterflies from the patterned paper in Tim Holtz Paper Stash Crowded Attic<\/a>. After the tag was embossed with Texture Trades Embossing Folder<\/a>\u00a0and Distressed with Distress Ink Pad<\/a>, I adhered those butterflies on the tag with Tombow 3D Foam Adhesive<\/a>. I really enjoy creating these butterflies flying in the beautiful sunshine on this tag.<\/p>\n

\nThis butterfly stamp from Tim Holtz Perspective<\/a> stamp set, is the most beautiful butterfly stamp I own. It’s big and bold, and I love it! I knew this would be my starting point of the card.\u00a0When I stamped it, I\u00a0masked it off and mixed some Vibrant Turquiose Paint<\/a> through the Texture Paste<\/a> and applied it with the Simon Says Stamp Diamond Circles<\/a>. I colored the butterfly in with Peacock Feathers<\/a> and Cracked Pistachio<\/a> Distress Markers.<\/p>\n

Zoey<\/a>\u00a0is always fascinated by butterflies…<\/p>\n

I simply love butterflies. I love their magical wings and beautiful colors. I wanted to make a TAG<\/a> to celebrate their beauty and I used a bunch of Distress Sprays<\/a> to color the background. The Prima Marketing White Sand Texture paste<\/a> was perfect to add texture through the Tim Holtz Layering Stencil ZigZag<\/a>\u00a0that I highlighted with a touch of Distress Paint.<\/p>\n
