She has so many great tutorials and inspiring creations that we decided to make a whole challenge based off of her work. The challenge is simple &#8211; be inspired by one of Tammy&#8217;s projects or tutorials. You can of course run your own creative direction, you could try to more closely copy a project, or anything you so desire. There is a lot to be inspired by, and if you&#8217;re like me you might find yourself spending hours just admiring the beautiful photos of amazingly detailed projects that Tammy has created.<\/p>\n<p>We here at\u00a0the Monday Challenge Blog\u00a0are feeling lucky because not only is she inspiring our challenge this week &#8211; Tammy is going to join us as well! We encourage you to be inspired by one of her tutorials or projects and join in the fun this week.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cupcakescreations.blogspot.com\/2013\/10\/thanks.html\" target=\"_blank\">Mona<\/a> was inspired to create a fall <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-46967\/ISB35336-%2310-MANILA-CRAFT\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">tag<\/a> featuring an altered plate inspired by Tammy&#8217;s Tutorial: <a href=\"http:\/\/tammytutterow.com\/2011\/08\/tuesday-tutorial-distress-stain-on-metal\/\" target=\"_blank\">Distress Stain On Metal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2013\/10\/tutterow_mona.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"979\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>I love the way the altered<a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-15692\/tim-holtz-ideaology-hardware\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\"> plate<\/a> looks with just a few simple steps. After creating a fall inspired tag with lots of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-25878\/Tim-Holtz-Cling-Rubber\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">fall leaves<\/a>, I completed it with an altered frame using a combination of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-35214\/TDW31024-BUNDLED-SAGE-GREEN\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">bundled sage<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-35223\/TDW31017-BRUSHED-CORDUROY-BROWN\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">brushed corduroy<\/a> Distress Stains. Imagine the possibilities that you can achieve using this fab tutorial!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/snappingmonsters.blogspot.com\/2013\/10\/my-cards-and-tags-what-we-could-be.html\" target=\"_blank\">Andrea<\/a> couldn&#8217;t stop at just one of Tammy&#8217;s tutorials and took inspiration from a <a href=\"http:\/\/tammytutterow.com\/2011\/12\/tuesday-tutorial-stencil-transfers-with-the-crafters-workshop\/\" target=\"_blank\">stencil transfer tutorial<\/a> and a <a href=\"http:\/\/tammytutterow.com\/2013\/05\/petaloo-color-me-crazy-ranger-ink-challenge\/\" target=\"_blank\">flower-coloring tutorial<\/a> to create her beautiful card.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2013\/10\/tutterow_andrea.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"750\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Sometimes creative rebellion pays off and sometimes it just makes your project look ridiculous. I&#8217;ll be honest: as I was following one of Tammy&#8217;s tutorials, I went off on my own &#8220;here&#8217;s a great idea&#8221; tangent that did not turn out so great. Suffice it to say that I learned some memorable what-not-to-do&#8217;s on this week&#8217;s creative journey. But luckily, with Tammy&#8217;s excellent guidance and tips, I was able to correct my &#8220;whoop&#8217;s&#8221; moments and salvage my card by using these forgiving <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-42975\/557058-COCONUT-WHITE-PURE\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Prima flowers<\/a> and an inspiring <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-11380\/Change-is-to-give\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Tim Holtz stamp set<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/layersofink.blogspot.com\/2013\/10\/autumn-luminary.html\" target=\"_blank\">Anna-Karin<\/a> loves the techniques <a href=\"http:\/\/tammytutterow.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tammy<\/a> shares in her great tutorials and was inspired by two different tutorials when she created this autumn luminary.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-491\" alt=\"OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2013\/10\/5ddee-fallluminary1.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"746\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2013\/10\/5ddee-fallluminary1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2013\/10\/5ddee-fallluminary1-241x300.jpg 241w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>I always enjoy transfer techniques and wanted to try Tammy&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/tammytutterow.com\/2013\/05\/tuesday-tutorial-frosted-film-transparent-tag\/\" target=\"_blank\">Frosted Film Transfer technique<\/a>. I thought the technique would work great together with Tim Holtz brand new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-58882\/658721-3-dsh-D-LUMINARY-3D\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">3-D Luminary die <\/a>and made a luminary with four different <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-47072\/TH93048-frosted-film-frosty\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">frosted film <\/a>transfer windows, using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-52515\/4500639-FRENCH-COUNTRY-RED\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Graphic 45 papers<\/a>. To embellish the luminary, I used Tammy&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/tammytutterow.com\/2013\/06\/tuesday-tutorial-melt-art-tissue-wrap-jeweled-leaves\/\" target=\"_blank\">Melt Art Tissue Wrap Jeweled Leaves tutorial<\/a> and ended up with beautiful translucent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-40087\/Ranger-Melt-Art-UTEE\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">UTEE<\/a> tissue wrap leaves.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/craftaddicts-tracyevans.blogspot.com\/2013\/10\/seasonal-assemblage-clock.html\" target=\"_blank\">Tracy<\/a> was inspired by Tammy&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/tammytutterow.com\/2013\/08\/cha-tim-holtz-idea-ology-winter-assemblage-clock\/\" target=\"_blank\">blog post<\/a> showcasing a seasonal decorated <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-52737\/th93065-steampunk-assemblage-alarm\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Assemblage Clock<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2013\/09\/tammy_Tracy.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"615\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>I am keeping up with my personal challenge to create one seasonal piece each week so when I saw Tammy&#8217;s blog post showcasing a decorated Assemblage Clock inspiration struck instantly and I was keen to decorate one of my own. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-55938\/TDD36487-tarnished-brass-gold\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Tarnished Brass Distress Paint<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-16566\/card-art-craft-paper\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Ginger<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-16551\/card-art-craft-paper\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Mushroom<\/a> Alcohol Inks helped to give the clock an aged rustic feel and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-28896\/stash-Tim-holtz-idea-dsh-ology\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Seasonal Paper Stash<\/a> was perfect for a backdrop in my clock. This was one of those pieces that I fiddled with for ages and I struggled to stop, so much fun. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/candycreates.blogspot.com\/2013\/10\/a-sweet-vintage-style-door-hanger-using.html\" target=\"_blank\">Candy<\/a> loves Tammy&#8217;s work and her tutorials. She was inspired by <a href=\"http:\/\/tammytutterow.com\/2013\/04\/tuesday-tutorial-the-good-will-always-out-number-the-bad\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tammy&#8217;s tutorial<\/a> showcasing stamping on vellum to create dimensional pieces and also using a Silver Paint Dabber to create a resisted background.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2013\/09\/tammy_Candy.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"847\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>I have always admired Tammy Tutterow&#8217;s vintage style and her wonderful tutorials. She inspired me to create this sweet vintage door hanger. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-48756\/Darkroom-Door-Cling-Stamp\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Darkroom Door&#8217;s Window<\/a> stamp reminds me of old farmhouse windows, brittle with age and lack of paint. The dimensional potted summer flowers on the window sill are stamped onto <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-42212\/ISP32908-ranger-8.5%22-x\/Detail\">Specialty Stamping Paper<\/a> and also onto vellum, using Tammy&#8217;s tutorial idea to create dimensional objects.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/madebysannie.blogspot.com\/2013\/10\/tammy-inspired-distress-paint-linen.html\" target=\"_blank\">Sandra Mouwen<\/a> had a blast looking around on Tammy&#8217;s blog for inspiration for this challenge<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-CQdyxq4oPss\/Uhnihsuk4iI\/AAAAAAAAA1s\/p5XNX75FcwA\/s1600\/IMG_3051.jpg\"><img alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-CQdyxq4oPss\/Uhnihsuk4iI\/AAAAAAAAA1s\/p5XNX75FcwA\/s1600\/IMG_3051.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<em>Tammy Tutterow is so talented and it was really inspiring to look around on her blog for a fun technique. I love her technique Tuesdays, and there I found <a href=\"http:\/\/tammytutterow.com\/2013\/06\/tuesday-tutorial-distress-paint-linen-texture\/\" target=\"_blank\">the Distress Paint Linen Texture technique.<\/a> I put my own spin on it, such as I used the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-52906\/Flourish-564278-6-x\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Flourish Prima Marketing Template<\/a> with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-47048\/EMB34162-RANGER-INDUSTRIES-ONLINE\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Emboss it Dabber<\/a>, instead of using a more solid background stamp. It&#8217;s absolutely magic when you lift off the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-25164\/ranger-ink-industries-embossing\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Clear Embossing Powder<\/a> with the iron and some plain paper.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/michellezerull.blogspot.com\/2013\/10\/tutterow-challenge.html\" target=\"_blank\">Michelle<\/a> loves kraft paper and was eager to try Tammy&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/tammytutterow.com\/2013\/06\/tuesday-tutorial-pastel-background-on-kraft\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pastel on Kraft Tutorial<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2013\/09\/tammy_mcihelle.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"804\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>I love creating tags. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-41415\/pound-Stock-writing-Cardstock\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Neenah Desert Storm <\/a> Cardstock is my favorite kraft paper and I was curious to know if it would support wet mediums. It did! Through trial and error, I made a set of tags with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-59957\/BAS-dsh-4333-METALLICS-METALLIC-SILVER\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">gold enamel dots <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-60011\/PRS-dsh-4337-persimmon-orange-blue\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">gold paper feathers<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Rather than being inspired by a specific tutorial, I (<a href=\"http:\/\/mayflaum.com\/2013\/10\/06\/challenge-with-special-guest\/\" target=\"_blank\">May<\/a>) was inspired by Tammy&#8217;s layered cards.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-466\" alt=\"046\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2013\/10\/046-600x530.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"530\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2013\/10\/046-600x530.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2013\/10\/046-300x265.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2013\/10\/046.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I am always so drawn to Tammy&#8217;s way of making detailed and layered <a href=\"http:\/\/tammytutterow.com\/gallery\/cards\/\" target=\"_blank\">cards<\/a> and I always wish I would take the time and really put more detail work into\u00a0a card now and then. So I took this week&#8217;s challenge as an opportunity to do just that as I used <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-60953\/TDD38580-ripe-persimmon-orange\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">paints<\/a> and water to color this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-59027\/blue-print-halloween-blueprints\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">pumpkin stamp<\/a>\u00a0on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-61387\/tim-holtz-th-labels\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">fabric<\/a>, and add lots of touches from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-54230\/Tim-Holtz-Core%27dinations-KRAFT\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">layered cardstock<\/a> to gold stitching.<\/p>\n<p>There are so many awesome tutorials on Tammy&#8217;s blog, <a href=\"http:\/\/purplemailbox.blogspot.com\/2013\/10\/inspired-by-tammy-and-seeing-stars.html\" target=\"_blank\">Ashli<\/a> had a hard time choosing&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2013\/09\/tammy_ashli.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"602\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Yep! Tammy&#8217;s blog is FULL of inspiration, after a good look-see, I finally settled on <a href=\"http:\/\/tammytutterow.com\/2013\/08\/cha-tim-holtz-idea-ology-sizzix-merry-and-bright-card\/\" target=\"_blank\">her use of vellum and stars from her Merry and Bright card<\/a>. I couldn&#8217;t wait to put the stitched and then torn <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-44741\/Bazzill-WHITE-21-LB\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">vellum<\/a> to use on the background of my layout. Then, after layering up my photos and paper scraps, I embellished with loads of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-44763\/Sizzix-Bigz-Die-diecut\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">die cut stars<\/a>. It was so fun to put these techniques to use for a Fourth of July page!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/meihsia.blogspot.com\/2013\/10\/love-inspired-by-tammy-tutterow.html\" target=\"_blank\">Meihsia<\/a> loves to use melting pot and UTEE. After reading <a href=\"http:\/\/day-tutorial-melt-art-tissue-wrap-jeweled-leaves\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tammy&#8217;s Tuesday Tutorial: Melt Art Tissue Wrap Jeweled Leaves<\/a>, she decided to make a home d\u00e9cor featuring the melting technique.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7315\/9741194865_3d74167ccc_z.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"274\" \/><br \/>\n<em>I found a piece of chip d\u00e9cor at local craft store and it&#8217;s just the right size to hang on the wall in front to my craft desk. I&#8217;ve always loved the beautiful effect of melted <a href=\"http:\/\/ranger%20melt%20art%20utee%20clear%208%20oz%20ultra%20thick%20embossing%20enamel\/\" target=\"_blank\">UTEE<\/a> so on this chip d\u00e9cor, I applied various medias such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-12738\/claudine-hellmuth-ranger-ink\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">GESSO<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/liquitex%20modeling%20paste%20gel%20acrylic%20medium\/\" target=\"_blank\">Modeling Paste<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-30217\/Smooch-Spritz-8-ARTSY\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Sprays<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-43706\/faber-dsh-castell-faber-castell-castle\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Gelatos<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-9659\/tim-holtz-ranger-adirondack\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Acrylic Paints<\/a> on the background, then covered the surface with UTEE. Being inspired by Tammy&#8217;s tutorial, I randomly dabbed the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-9614\/tim-holtz-ranger-adirondack\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Ranger Adirondack Acrylic Paint<\/a> on melted UTEE and I love the beautiful texture and shiny result.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/dan99.blogspot.com\/2013\/10\/inspired-bytammy-tutterow.html\" target=\"_blank\">Dan<\/a> was inspired by the multi-layered background created by Tammy in her <a href=\"http:\/\/tammytutterow.com\/2013\/03\/tuesday-tutorial-let-me-count-the-ways\/\" target=\"_blank\">Let Me Count the Ways<\/a> tutorial.<br \/>\n<img class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/dan99crafter\/photo-album\/sssTutterowcombo.jpg\" width=\"600\" \/><br \/>\n<em>There is so much cool stuff on Tammy&#8217;s blog that it took me quite some time to focus in on just one inspiring tutorial. One thing that cropped up for me repeatedly during my perusal of Tammy&#8217;s blog was an admiration for her multi-layered, multi-media style and her love of manila tags (something we have in common). I took <a href=\"http:\/\/tammytutterow.com\/2013\/03\/tuesday-tutorial-let-me-count-the-ways\/\" target=\"_blank\">her tutorial<\/a> as my starting point and set off down my own path creating this multi-layered tag with paints, inks, gesso and stains. Among the products I used were the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-52713\/french-industrial-shabby-chic\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">French Industrial paper stash<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-52621\/cms159-paris-memoir-memories\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Paris Memoir stamp set<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-12738\/claudine-hellmuth-ranger-ink\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Claudine Hellmuth Gesso<\/a> and a range of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-ALL\/keyword\/distress-stain\/s\/1\/Categories\" target=\"_blank\">Distress Stains<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/suzzstampingspot.blogspot.com\/2013\/10\/foil-muslin.html\" target=\"_blank\">Suzz <\/a> had fun searching through all of the inspiration on <a href=\"http:\/\/tammytutterow.com\/\">Tammy&#8217;s blog<\/a>. She found a <a href=\"http:\/\/tammytutterow.com\/2013\/07\/tuesday-tutorial-watercolor-on-foil\/\" target=\"_blank\">watercolor foil technique<\/a> that inspired her to try something new.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2013\/09\/tammy_suzz.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>The foil technique was something I hadn&#8217;t tried before and I love my watercolor pencils so this seemed a perfect technique to try. With a few basic ingredients <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-31576\/ISF30010-Ranger-METAL-FOIL\/Detail\">Metal Foil Tape Sheets<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-55765\/PP00915-HOPE-CHEST-CREAM\/Detail\">Pink Paislee Hope Chest Paper<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-45613\/Paper-Artsy-Stamp-HOT\/Detail\">PaperArtsy Hot Pick 1009<\/a> I was able to learn something new.
