Hi all and welcome to another week on the\u00a0Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge<\/a><\/p>\n

RAY OF SUNSHINE<\/span><\/h2>\n

After the long winter months we are looking forward to summer!<\/p>\n

We are showcasing Dina Wakley Products<\/a> this week, you don’t have to use them, but if you have them we would love to see them used!<\/p>\n

Andrea<\/a> made some sunshine-bright yarn holders using Dina’s Collaged Hearts<\/a>, Scribbly Holiday Birdies<\/a> and Scribbly Women<\/a> stamp sets.<\/p>\n

Don’t get me wrong- I love me some winter, but bring on the sunshine and flowers, too!\u00a0 And what better artist to remind us of bright happy colors than Dina Wakley?\u00a0 I think her style is fabulous and I enjoyed incorporating her Collaged Hearts<\/a>, Scribbly Holiday Birdies<\/a> and Scribbly Women<\/a> stamp set images into my house-shaped yarn holders.<\/p>\n

Anna-Karin<\/a> did an art journal page with paint, stamps and stencils.<\/p>\n

I am very inspired by Dina’s art journaling and use of colour. On this page, I challenged myself to draw a body for one of her Positive Women<\/a> stamps. The background is painted with Dina’s paints<\/a> and I used four different stencils to add texture and details, such as the Alphabetic stencil<\/a>. For some extra sunshine, the page has quite a lot of yellow<\/a>\u00a0paint.<\/p>\n

Barbara<\/a> \u00a0has used a lot of stamps and stencil by Dina mixed with Distress Paints!<\/p>\n

I love so much Dina’s style and this week I was very happy \u00a0to create with her wonderful products! It was \u00a0really fun to mix Dina’s stamps <\/a>and stencils <\/a>\u00a0with Distress Paint<\/a> ! Scribbly birds<\/a> are absolutely cute! I left my comfort zone and I \u00a0just \u00a0 used \u00a0my hands \u00a0without thoughts , this is the result!<\/p>\n

Cheiron<\/a> wanted to make a card for her sunshine and used a\u00a0Dina Wakley\u00a0Handwritten Heart<\/a>\u00a0set<\/p>\n

I love heart stamps and this big bold one from the Dina Wakley Handwritten Heart<\/a> set is fabulous. Instead of the normal red, I colored it with tones of gold and yellows using Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic Paints<\/a> and some gold paper from the Tim Holtz Core’dinations Metallic paper stack<\/a>. The sunshine rays were made using the rays from the Basics Media Masks and Stencils.<\/a><\/p>\n

Emma<\/a>\u00a0mixed Dina Wakley with Tim Holtz to create a ray of sunshine on her card!<\/p>\n

I love creating my own backgrounds and for my card, I combined Dina’s Lemon Heavy Body Acrylic Paint<\/a> and the beautiful Daisies stencil<\/a> with Distress Inks and texture paste<\/a> to create a background for my multi layered card project. I added layers of embellishments including a Stacked Hearts<\/a> die cut, a Vintage Photobooth<\/a> image and fussy cut flowers from the Wallpaper Stash<\/a> and completed the card with a die cut feather<\/a> dipped in gorgeous Platinum Glitter Dust<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lols <\/a>used a\u00a0Dina Wakley<\/a>‘s\u00a0Scribbly Bird<\/a>\u00a0set to make a colourful sunny card<\/p>\n

I am looking forward to the long sunshiny days of summer and used the colours of the beach for my card. I recently bought some Mixed Media Cardstock<\/a> and wanted to use it to create the background and for the image and I love how the colours absorbed into the card so evenly. I coloured the Scribbly Bird<\/a>\u00a0with Cracked Pistachio<\/a>, \u00a0Twisted Citron<\/a> and Picked Raspberry<\/a>. The background was inked with Distress Inks<\/a> and I made a mask using a Scribbles and Splatt Die <\/a>and used that to create the ‘Sun’ with Embossing Paste<\/a> and a sprinkling of Mustard Seed Distress Glitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Maura<\/a>\u00a0 is dreaming of a moon garden and used\u00a0Dina Wakley’s\u00a0Moon Face stencil<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Woodcut stamps<\/a><\/p>\n

Sometimes when you start digging through your stash looking for certain products, you get inspired and put together things you might never have paired, like Dina Wakley’s Moon Face stencil<\/a> and Woodcut stamps<\/a>. The fun really begins for me once I start playing with the colors, like Dina Wakley\u00a0Heavy Body Paints<\/a>. I tried Dina’s Clear Gesso<\/a> for the first time, and I loved how I could use it to prep the canvas, and later build layers with it. The rays of sun are raising the moon flowers in the garden!<\/p>\n

Meihsia<\/a> created an art journal page with beautiful sunshine on it.

\nI always love creating with bright colors. On this art journal page, I first stenciled the background using Dina Wakely Leafy Stencil<\/a> and Prima Flowers Modeling Paste<\/a>. The image was stamped with Tim Holtz Stamp Pen and Pencil<\/a>, and Memento Black Ink<\/a>. The beautiful sunshine was created with Distress Paint<\/a> and water mixture.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s so fun to try new things and styles to find new ways to expand your own. I love Dina Wakley’s<\/a> style, her color use is amazing. I tried to apply her style and mix it with my own to create these tags. I used a few Dina products like her Magenta<\/a>, Turquiose<\/a> and Lime<\/a> Paint along with\u00a0her Leaves<\/a>\u00a0and Plastic Canvas<\/a>\u00a0stencil.<\/p>\n
