Hi all and welcome to another week on the\u00a0Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge<\/a><\/p>\n

Thank you for joining us for the Thanks\/Thanksgiving Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.<\/p>\n

This week the challenge is<\/p>\n

Gentlemen<\/span><\/h1>\n

It’s time to think of the men in our lives and create something for them, maybe a masculine canvas to hang in their den, or a notebook for their desk, whatever you create we will be looking forward to seeing it!<\/p>\n

Andrea<\/a> was inspired by the manly game of Bingo.<\/p>\n

When he was in his twenties, my gentleman of a husband enjoyed volunteering as a Bingo caller at an assisted living facility.\u00a0 There was one lively lady who got so super-excited when she won that my hubby may or may not have rigged the game a time or two in her favor!\u00a0 In any event, I enjoyed making these Bingo cards using a fabulous new stamp set from Concord & 9th called Let’s Chat<\/a> and a classic Dina Wakley stamp set that I love called Positive Women<\/a>.\u00a0 I also painted some Tim Holtz Bingo pieces<\/a> and added some Everyday Notebook Tags<\/a> from Jillibean Soup.<\/p>\n

Anna-Karin<\/a> made a Flip Frame panel featuring two gentlemen.<\/p>\n

I am in a Christmas mood and thought I’d make my son’s first meeting with the real Santa Claus into a decor piece. I made a partly translucent background with Frosted Film<\/a> and the Holiday Knit<\/a> die by Tim Holtz. It was decorated with a Christmas Typed Token<\/a>, Holiday Letterpress word<\/a>, and a Fragment<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Barbara<\/a>\u00a0has designed<\/span> a<\/span> Gentleman<\/span> in<\/span> a Christmas version<\/span> and<\/span> very<\/span> sparkly<\/span>!<\/p>\n

This time I\u00a0 literally\u00a0 interpreted the theme of our challenge! I thought about a gentleman<\/a>, one of my favourite stamps by\u00a0 Tim Holtz\u00a0\u00a0 !\u00a0 I’ve always loved this Gentleman with his vintage style and I wanted to try to make him sparkle with new Distress Glitter Dust Vintage Platinum<\/a>! A little\u00a0star<\/a>, a pretty ribbon<\/a> and\u00a0\u00a0now\u00a0 he is ready for the\u00a0 next Christmas!<\/p>\n

Cheiron<\/a>\u00a0was inspired to make an encouraging card for a gentleman she knows.<\/p>\n

It’s always so hard for me to come up with cards for the gentlemen in my life. The stamps from The Chemist<\/a> and the Life Quotes<\/a> sets were the perfect pair to create this inspirational card. Lots of Distress Ink and layering with the Stars<\/a>, Treads<\/a>, Splatter<\/a> and Dot Fade <\/a>Layering Stencils make a perfect background.<\/p>\n

Emma<\/a>‘s festive gent is arriving just in time for Christmas!<\/p>\n

I love taking household objects and giving them a new lease of life and this week, I altered a boring old black frame to create a piece of home decor ready to display for the festive season. I used the Festive Gent as my main focal point, covered in Black Soot Distress Glitter<\/a>, together with a touch of\u00a0Vintage Platinum Glitter Dust<\/a>. I then surrounded him with Holiday Greens<\/a> die cut from Metallic Kraft Core card stock<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lols <\/a>\u00a0thought a Gentleman might need a trinket box for his bits and bobs.<\/p>\n

I don’t like to discard patterned papers and the\u00a0\u00a0Tim Holtz Paper Mosaic Kit<\/a>\u00a0 is perfect for using up those snippets that you don’t want to throw away! I made a masculine trinket box where my Dad can keep his cufflinks and such. I have had the box in my cupboard for years and this was a perfect opportunity to actually decorate one! The box has a textured surface and I simply painted it with White Gesso<\/a> and then again with Pumice Stone Distress Paint<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Maura<\/a>\u00a0is thinking of gentlemen callers of long ago.<\/p>\n

I’m exploring the past this week with my gentlemen callers, and imagining what life might have been like in past centuries. Funny little thing about me, I do not like to talk on the phone, but I do like using Tim Holtz’s blueprint telephone stamp<\/a>\u00a0along with his Time Traveler gentlemen<\/a>. Add a little ChitChat<\/a> for some interesting conversation, and who knows what the gentlemen callers will do?<\/p>\n

Meihsia<\/a> was inspired to create a masculine tag.<\/p>\n

I was inspired to create a masculine tag with a metallic color scheme this week. After embossing the background of the tag with Tim Holtz Steampunk Embossing Folder<\/a>, I colored it with Distress ink pad<\/a> and added a glossy layer with\u00a0Faber-Castell Glaze<\/a>. Some Metal Word Band<\/a> and resin\u00a0Gears<\/a> embellishments were attached for more interest.<\/p>\n

Michelle<\/a>\u00a0knows that Gentlemen prefer beer.<\/p>\n

\"Stamped<\/a><\/p>\n

I’m always trying to figure out ways to personalize my holiday gifts. It’s fun to add something unexpected to the outside of the gift. So in lieu of a bow, I made \u00a0gift embellishments that included some unusual items….beer bottle caps! The Scribbly Christmas Stamps<\/a> have to greatest Holiday fonts, but the stamped gentlemen in the\u00a0Sizzix Framelets set<\/a>\u00a0looked as if they were in need of a little fun.\u00a0How about an imported brew to make the party merry?<\/p>\n

Sandra<\/a> just started experimenting with Brusho<\/a>

\nBrusho<\/a> pigment powder is so much fun! I love playing with those. I need to learn and experiment lots more, and I will! I started out with stamping the wings of the Regal Flourish<\/a> with Faded Jeans<\/a> Distress Stain onto Watercolor Paper. And after spraying some water over it I applied the Prussian Blue Brusho<\/a>. Love that color! I added more water and stamped over it with Chipped Sapphire<\/a> Distress Ink to pump up the blue.<\/p>\n

Suzz<\/a> just received the industrialist stamp and thought of him immediately for the Gentlemen challenge.<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

“Peace on Earth and Goodwill to Men” was running through my mind when I started this card with the dapper gent.\u00a0\u00a0 The lovely\u00a0\u00a0 colors of Heidi Swapp’s Color Shine Citron<\/a> and Navy<\/a> made a lovely shimmery mix. The earth was cut from the Sizzix Thinlit Globe Die .<\/a><\/p>\n
