Hi all and welcome to another week on the\u00a0Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge<\/a><\/p>\n

Thank you for joining us for the So Glossy Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.<\/p>\n

Create Something Beginning With The Letter ‘N’\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

‘N’ is for \u00a0Naughty or Nice, Nautical, Navy, New, November, Neutral, whatever you can think of! We will be looking forward to seeing what ‘N’ you use for your crafty project!<\/p>\n

Andrea<\/a> was reminded of needlework with this adorable embroidery hoop die.<\/p>\n

My mom is brilliant with any sort of needlework.\u00a0 All my life, she’s embroidered beautiful tablecloths and has cross-stitched Christmas stockings and pictures that have turned our houses into homes.\u00a0 This Hoop Die<\/a> from Neat and Tangled reminded me of her, so I used it on two different styles of cards.\u00a0 I utilized a great new stamp set called Love You Mean It<\/a> from Concord and 9th for the “smile” sentiment and some of my favorite little birds from Technique Tuesday’s Chickadees<\/a> stamp set.<\/p>\n

Anna-Karin<\/a> made her December Daily journal this week.<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

I was inspired by ‘Noel’ and ‘Notebook’ and made a journal to document the month of December. I used Tim Holtz Journaler Worn Cover<\/a> as my base and decorated it with a die cut word<\/a>, ephemera<\/a> and idea-ology <\/a>pieces. On the inside, you’ll find stamping, and lots of tags and journal cards<\/a>. Now I am all set for journaling my December memories.<\/p>\n

Barbara<\/a>\u00a0this week has challenged herself using neutral tones!<\/p>\n

\"N2Simon\"<\/a><\/p>\n

N is for\u00a0 Neutral! I created this Christmas decoration using only neutral tones, without adding more colors. I love Burlap surface<\/a> as a background. Over it I used\u00a0Ranger VINTAGE Shiny Transfer Foil Sheets<\/a>. I love Tim Holtz’s Feathered Wings<\/a>, for this project I covered them with Distress Crackle Paint Clear Rock Candy<\/a>! To only use neutral tones was a difficult challenge to myself!<\/p>\n

Cheiron<\/a>\u00a0was inspired to use numbers on her art journal page.<\/p>\n

We recently found out that the house we have been renting for the past four years is going to be sold, and we will have to move. I made this art journal page with the number of the new house that we will be moving to using a Tim Holtz Plaquette<\/a>\u00a0and some Big Chat<\/a> to document some thoughts on moving.\u00a0Lots of great bright colors on this page too using the new Ranger Paint Dabbers in Blue Ribbon<\/a>, Caribbean Coast<\/a>, and Electric Lime<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Emma<\/a>\u00a0chose the letter ‘N’ for Never Forget!<\/p>\n

\"NIsFor\"<\/a><\/p>\n

For me the month of November is all about Remembrance and I chose to create a canvas panel in honour of heroes past and present! I applied texture paste through the Gothic Layering stencil<\/a>, adding it directly\u00a0onto my canvas before painting over the top with Distress Paints. As the focal point, I made two poppies using the Tattered Florals die<\/a> and the spiky flower punch<\/a> and attached these with a metallic gold plaque, using the Alphanumeric Thinlits die<\/a> to spell out the word ~ Remember!<\/p>\n

Lols<\/a>\u00a0was inspired by the letter ‘N’ to make a Navy Night card and tag<\/p>\n

I love these Tim Holtz Woodlands Dies<\/a> and thought it would be fun to make a card and tag, one using the ‘bits’ from the die cut to pop back into the main piece, the other tree I left hollow. I love that these dies are so versatile and can get a different look by using this technique. I created the snowy night background using Stormy Sky<\/a> and Peacock Feathers<\/a> Distress Inks and then using a Falling \u00a0Snow Stencil<\/a> and some White Embossing Paste<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Maura<\/a> is inspired this week by the Northern Lights.<\/p>\n

I thought my letter N was “night”, but once I started working, it morphed into the “northern lights”. The Northern Lights are so awe inspiring, I hope you have the chance to experience them! I started out in my new Dylusions Creative Journal Black<\/a>\u00a0and painted up my own magnetic storm of color with Dylusions paints in cut grass<\/a>, vibrant turquoise<\/a>, London blue\u00a0<\/a>and crushed grape<\/a>. \u00a0Ok, time for a cosmic journey.<\/p>\n

Meihsia<\/a>\u00a0was inspired to create an art journal page with a cute nerd girl.<\/p>\n

I really love the Simon Says Old School Sunglasses Wafer Dies<\/a>\u00a0so I decided to create an art journal page with a lovely girl to wear the glasses. After coloring the background with Distress Spray Stain<\/a> and Distress Paints<\/a>, I adhered the girl image that I drew and colored on the page using Tombow Glue<\/a>. Some Prima Flowers<\/a> and Tim Holtz Number Rubs<\/a> were added to finish off this project.<\/p>\n

Michelle<\/a> used her new<\/em> Sizzix Dies this week.<\/p>\n

\"Tim<\/a><\/p>\n

A bit of glitter, a touch of\u00a0glue<\/a>, and \u00a0my new Sizzix Village Dwelling Die <\/a>was all I needed\u00a0to create a miniature Winter Cabin. But it t wouldn’t be Winter without the snow, so the Village Winter Die<\/a> was a must-have as well. I am so pleased with my new purchases. This project was fun to create!<\/p>\n

Sandra<\/a> was inspired by the color navy for her art journal spread

\nI had lots of fun making this art journal spread. For this challenge\u00a0I wanted to use navy blue. A color I don’t often use. I’m more of the turquiose blue. But now I’m thinking I like the navy blue too. I started with a layer of Gesso<\/a>. With a brush and Chipped Sapphire<\/a> and Faded Jeans<\/a> Distress Ink I made the background. Love how it moves and dries\u00a0on Gesso<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Suzz<\/a> opened up the dictionary under the letter “N” and the word at the top of the page was “Navigate”.<\/p>\n

I decided to create a nautical project inspired by the word navigate.\u00a0 I had picked up this oar awhile ago at a flea market with plans for a makeover.\u00a0 To paint my oar I used\u00a0 Ranger Paint Dabbers: Fired Brick<\/a>, Fossilized Amber<\/a>, Blueprint sketch<\/a>,\u00a0\u00a0 and a nice coat of Dina Wakely’s White Gesso<\/a> as my base coat.\u00a0 I masked off areas to create my design and added some accents with a few layering stencils (Numbered<\/a>, Traveler<\/a>) and Wendy Vecchi’s white embossing paste<\/a>.<\/p>\n
