Hi all and welcome to another week on the\u00a0Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge<\/a><\/p>\n

Thank you for joining us for the Trio of Colors Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.<\/p>\n

It’s Lorraine aka Lols<\/a> here and I am the new Design Team Leader for the challenge. We would like to thank May<\/a> for all of the fabulous work she has done setting up and \u00a0leading the challenge from the very beginning. I am looking forward to experimenting more with the more ‘artsy’ side of crafting and looking forward to seeing what you all create too.<\/p>\n

This week we are challenging you to<\/p>\n

STAMP AND PUNCH\/DIE CUT<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Whether you use a die cut with coordinating stamp, use a paper punch on a background stamp, or stamp a pre-made diecut shape or alphabet sticker this week we want to see your projects that feature a punch or die cut with a stamp!<\/p>\n

Andrea<\/a>\u00a0used house dies to provide a home for her embroidery floss.<\/p>\n

If I were trapped on a deserted island and could only take five dies with me (long shot scenario, I know), one of my top five would be Tim Holtz’s\u00a0Artful Dwellings<\/a>.\u00a0 I love popping this set into my\u00a0Sizzix Big Shot<\/a>\u00a0and seeing what little villages I can create.\u00a0 This time, I combined the houses with some great October Afternoon\u00a0Summertime<\/a>\u00a0paper to make some embroidery floss holders.<\/p>\n

ANNA-KARIN<\/a>\u00a0wanted to use some lovely new punches.<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

These are two of my favourite photos and I wanted to make a warm and textured layout for them. Tim Holtz new punches <\/a>are so fun and easy to use and I made layered golden flowers by using different flower punches together with Kraft Core Metallic paper<\/a>. The flowers were stamped with a ledger script stamp<\/a>, which I also used on the mixed media background.<\/p>\n

Ashli<\/a>\u00a0decided to get a head start on her Christmas Card making!<\/p>\n

Feeling inspired to get my Christmas craft on this week, I grabbed some\u00a0Embossing Powders<\/a>, a lovely\u00a0Flourish Stamp<\/a>, and some\u00a0acetate<\/a>! I then cut my heat embossing into\u00a0Stars<\/a>. A few little embellishments finish it off and\u2026Rejoice! A card is created!<\/p>\n

Barbara<\/a>\u00a0was inspired by the pop art of Andy Warhol and created a set of ATC’s using Tim Holtz \u00a0Bird Crazy Cling Stamp<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Coordinating Die Set<\/a><\/p>\n

I created a series of four ATCs, a bit psychedelic and very 70’s. \u00a0Distress Ink Pads<\/a>, in their most vibrant tones, have helped me to set the\u00a0right mood. I used a Tim Holtz\u00a0Bitty Grunge Cling Stamp Set<\/a>\u00a0to stamp the circles for the final\u00a0touch.<\/p>\n

CHEIRON<\/a>\u00a0is still going Bird Crazy.<\/p>\n

I can’t get enough of these Tim Holtz Bird Crazy stamps and Thinlits dies<\/a> and all their fun accessories. I used some fun hats and flowers from the Crazy Things set<\/a>\u00a0to make these “Crazy in Love” birds on this wedding card. I added a little sparkle with texture paste thru the Mesh Layering Stencil <\/a>and Rock Candy Distress glitter<\/a> to make my card extra festive.<\/p>\n

EMMA<\/a>\u00a0was inspired by a trip to her local interiors store.<\/p>\n

I adore spending time looking around interior design stores and find I’m always inspired by the different patterns and designs that I see and as soon as I saw the style of the Explore Nature Stamp and die se<\/a>t, it immediately reminded me of Eloise Renouf’s work. So, with this in mind I created a home decor panel combining retro colours against a textured background of paste applied through the\u00a0Mesh Layering Stencil<\/a>\u00a0and added to a canvas panel painted with the neutral tone of Hickory Smoke<\/a> and Pumice Stone Distress Paint<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lols<\/a> was inspired by the orange hibiscus flowers in her garden and made a card using a Simon’s Exclusive Flowers of Whimsy Stamp and Die Set<\/a><\/p>\n

I used a\u00a0Grid Cling Stamp<\/a>, inked with a Versamark Frost Dazzle Ink Pad<\/a> and then used a Tim Holtz Dot Fade Stencil<\/a> and\u00a0Embossing Paste<\/a> to create a textured background. A perfect backdrop for the bright sunshiny flowers don’t you think!<\/p>\n

MAURA<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0is going crazy over birds this week.<\/p>\n

A special young friend who loves owls has a birthday coming up, so I knew those\u00a0Tim Holtz Bird Crazy stamps<\/a>\u00a0would be perfect for this card. I am not a big die cut person, but when I saw the\u00a0Bird Crazy thinlets<\/a>\u00a0that goes with the stamps, I had to try them out, and they are great! The\u00a0Crazy Things stamp set<\/a>\u00a0adds the perfect touch of whimsy and humor for my birthday owl. I can\u2019t wait to see how my young friend likes his birthday card.<\/p>\n

\u00a0MEIHSIA<\/a>\u00a0created a tag with her favorite die and background text stamp.<\/p>\n

\"Meihsia<\/a><\/p>\n

I was inspired by our summer trip, and created a mixed media tag embellished using\u00a0Tim Holtz<\/a> Mini Old Jalopy Die cut with Impression Obsession Beauty Text<\/a> stamped on it. I colored the background of this tag with\u00a0Tim Holtz Distress Paints<\/a>\u00a0and distressed it using a\u00a0ColorBox Art Dauber<\/a>. Can’t wait for our next trip!<\/p>\n

MICHELLE<\/a>\u00a0used her Waffle Flower stamps to alter a bottle for a fun decor piece.<\/p>\n

I have always been an admirer of my teammate Emma’s Flowers, so I am taking the plunge and trying my hand at making my own. The Leafy Stamp<\/a> set stamped beautifully on paper colored with \u00a0Zig Kuretake Watercolors<\/a> and the Coordinating Leafy Dies<\/a> cut perfectly, making my leaves a great companion to dimensional flowers.<\/p>\n

Nicole<\/a>\u00a0is ready for Autumn.<\/p>\n

With Fall just around the corner I am definitely into my Autumn colors.\u00a0 I love this\u00a0Leaf Blueprint Framelit die<\/a>\u00a0and the ability to make all these great oak leaves.\u00a0 Who remembers the\u00a0Thankful Silhouette stamps<\/a>!\u00a0 The embossed wheat stamp is always a favorite layer when creating a background.<\/p>\n

SANDRA<\/a>\u00a0had lots of fun trying out watercolor

\nWatercolor is kind of new to me, as I see it everywhere, I decided to give it a go and make a background with Watercolor Cakes<\/a> and of course Watercolor Paper<\/a>. I browsed through my stamp + punch possibilities and knew that it had to be the Simon Says Stamp Scribble Flower set<\/a>. The sentiment is embossed with Metallic Pewter<\/a>. Love that charcoal look.<\/p>\n

\u00a0SUZZ <\/a>\u00a0 was thinking of the Tim Holtz bird punch<\/a> and a series of tags using the bird punch as a mini focal point.<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

I have the bird punch and thought it would be fun to use the negative space created from the punch on a series of tags.\u00a0 I ended up with a series of inpiraatioional tag inside of a tin.\u00a0 I used the Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Pocket Cards<\/a> to cover my tin and to create a series of tags.\u00a0 I mixed up my sentiments from the various Idea-Ology Remnant Rubs<\/a> and Idea-Ology Big Chat Stickers<\/a>.\u00a0 Now I have a tin of inspiration to send to someone as a quick pick me up.<\/p>\n
