Hi, Simon Says Stamp friends, welcome to STAMPtember, the most magical month of the year at Simon Says Stamp! Today, Meihsia Liu<\/a> is here to share the design of an art journal cover using Faber-Castell Gelatos and Stamper’s Big Brush Pens.<\/em><\/p>\n

I’ve been enjoying creating using Faber-Castell products for years and loving the gorgeous effects they achieve. So, here are some fun techniques and steps to make this project using my stamping all-stars.
\n\"\"<\/p>\n

Cut a piece of patterned paper from Graphic 45 A Lady’s Diary collection and paste it on the chipboard cover using Gel Medium.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Spread some Light Modeling Paste around the edges using Palette Knife.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

After making some patterns using Light Modeling Paste, Heidi Swapp stencil and Palette Knife, dry it with a heat tool. Mix the Gelatos and water in a small container. Apply the color mixture on the edges of the cover using a brush pen. I usually use this method to color a big area on a project.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

You may also mix the Gelatos and water on the craft sheet using a brush pen to paint a small area.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The Gelatos can be also applied directly on the project and use a wet brush pen to achieve the water color effect. Here I use the Gelatos to highlight the edges.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Apply the Gelatos on the stamp, mist with water using misting bottle, then stamp the images on the cover.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

You may also use Stamper’s Big Brush Pens\/ PITT artist pens as an ink to stamp the image. Here I use a PITT artist pen in black to stamp the sentiment and some small images.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Use Stamper’s Big Brush Pens in various colors to stamp more images on the background.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The Blending Chisel is perfect to make the distressed look after I applied the Gelatos to highlight the edges.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Use Drip Dropper to drip the color mixture on the background and tilt it to let the mixture run.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

After attaching Prima Flowers and 7 Gypsies Industrial Gears using a hot glue gun, add some Gesso randomly on these embellishments and background using a brush pen as a final touch.<\/p>\n
