Here in my world, stamps and mists (color washes, etc) are two products that I can always use more often! Color sprays and stamps are also a great combination. You could emboss or stamp an image and spray over it. Use mist to \u2018ink\u2019 a stamp. Apply mist color with a paintbrush to a stamped image. So many possibilities! This week we want to see a project that features at least one stamp, and one mist or color wash\/spray.<\/p>\n

Maura <\/a> was inspired by the mists of Ireland to make a card.<\/p>\n

I went back through the mists of time to a wonderful trip I took with my mom and two sisters to Ireland. We stopped at an ancient monastery on a misty day. It was a magical moment seeing the Celtic crosses in the swirling mists. I knew I had to use a lot of greens since this is about the Emerald Isle! So much fun to play on my card with Prima\u2019s Emerald Color Bloom <\/a> and my new Twisted Citron Distress Spray Stain<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Emma<\/a> loves the shimmer and sparkle of a starry night.<\/p>\n

Inspired by clear summer nights and the twinkle of stars in a moonlit sky, I used my sprays and stamps to recreate this on my multi layered wall panel. I added a base of texture paste before spritzing the background with Brushed Pewter<\/a>, Black Soot<\/a> and Broken China<\/a> Distress Spray Stain and stamping with the circles from the Psychedelic Grunge Stamp Set<\/a> and the type stamp<\/a>. I continued building up the scene by attaching shimmery die cut gadget gears<\/a> onto a layer of micro beads<\/a> and completing the panel with a glittered die cut moon<\/a> and stars.<\/em><\/p>\n

Ashli<\/a> was inspired by some new paints this week!<\/p>\n

With the new Dylusions Paints<\/a> on my desk, I couldn’t wait to play! Lots of fun polka dot stenciling and blending on the Mixed Media Cardstock<\/a> provided the prefect background for my stamping! Using Dylusions White<\/a> and a Tim Holtz heart stamp<\/a>, I added some soft white stamping. With this mixed media play all cut up and stitched, I have the perfect handmade embellishments for my layout!<\/em><\/p>\n

Meihsia<\/a> was inspired to create a sunshine garden journal page.<\/p>\n

\nDistress Spray Paint<\/a> is one of my favorite art mediums to create mixed media projects. On this art journal page, I sprayed Distress Spray Paints on the page to create the misty background. The sentiment was stamped with Tim Holtz Rubber Stamp<\/a> and embossed with ColorBox Clear Embossing Powder.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

Anna-Karin<\/a> was inspired to use light coloured mists this week.<\/p>\n

When I use mists, I often end up with pretty bright projects, but this time, I wanted to use the lightest colours of mists I had at home, namely Distress Spray Stain Tattered Rose<\/a>, Tumbled Glass<\/a> and Antique Linen<\/a>. I made an Artist Trading Block using a Sizzix die <\/a>for my base. The Mariner Blueprint<\/a> stamps by Tim Holtz work great for many types of summer projects.<\/em><\/p>\n

Michelle <\/a>is experiencing Misty Memories.<\/p>\n

Mists don’t always need to be front and center. I prefer to leave them behind the stamps. A luscious Heidi Swapp Mustard Spray<\/a> makes a great background to highlight another stamp, such as a large Daisy<\/a> stamp. And since Heidi’s mists are acid-free, they’re great additions to scrapbook layouts.<\/em><\/p>\n

Andrea<\/a> incorporated one of her husband’s ideas into this week’s misty project.<\/p>\n

Whenever I hit a creative wall, I’ll ask my husband for some ideas. He’ll usually say something manly like, “Add some metal,” or, “Make a car.” When I made this background, I didn’t know what to do for a focal point and my husband said, “Add a paper airplane.” Instead of dismissing his macho suggestions like usual, I actually thought it was brilliant! And so my little airplane soars against a background made with Dylusions Bubble Gum<\/a> and Fresh Lime<\/a> sprays, along with some stamped wonky circles from the Simon Says Stamp Scribble flowers<\/a> set.<\/em><\/p>\n

Cheiron<\/a> used mists on her stencil masks and “stamped” the background of her journal page with them.<\/p>\n

I\u00a0love finding creative ways to use the products I\u00a0already have. I sprayed the masks from the\u00a0Dina Wakley Graphic\u00a0Shapes Media Masks and Stencils<\/a>\u00a0with different colors of Dylusions sprays and used them as stamps to create a background in my art journal this week. I used the same color sprays (and some white) to stamp on my background using\u00a0 Dyan Reaveley Basic Backgrounds<\/a> cling stamps.<\/em><\/p>\n

Suzz<\/a> was thinking pink this week.<\/p>\n

I was thinking pink and lucky enough to have the Ranger Distress Stain Picked Raspberry<\/a> and Dylusions Bubblegum Pink<\/a> along with the Ranger Distress Stain Picket Fence<\/a> to make up a pink ink background. After I had my pretty pink tag I decided I needed coordinating butterflies who flew through my misty inking and ended up matching their background.<\/em><\/p>\n

Stamps and sprays are two wonderful products Barbara <\/a>loves to use!<\/p>\n

Definitely among my favorites because you can always try new combinations! For this challenge, I chose to cut on cardstock , Tim’s die “Globe” <\/a>and I used it as a stamp. Instead of the ink, I used gesso <\/a>to create a resist- effect onto my tag. For my background I worked with Sprays<\/a>, inks, stamps and stencils.<\/em><\/p>\n

Sandra’s<\/a> art journal needed a little stamping and some mist.<\/p>\n

Playing in my art journal is so relaxing, for me it’s trying new things. I wanted to layer , but not too bulky. I created the colorful background with pigment powder, like Primary Elemants<\/a> from Luminarte, and a Mister<\/a> with only water. I didn’t prepare the surface only used Texture Paste<\/a> with the Jumbled Letters<\/a> stencil to create some depth.<\/em><\/p>\n
