That\u2019s right! It is time to cut loose and go for it with our first \u201canything goes\u201d challenge of 2015! The standard (must be new project, etc) rules apply, but other than that the theme this week is whatever you’d like to make it! Cut loose and have some fun.<\/p>\n

Ashli<\/a> has been wanting to put an often forgotten supply to use.
\n\"anything_ashli\"<\/p>\n

I just love the Butterfly Die and Texture set from Tim Holtz<\/a>! But, I don’t use it enough, So, for this “anything goes” challenge, I decided to dust them off! Taking advantage of the lovely tone on tone effect that a white embossed shape can give, I simply lined the butterflies on top of my page. A fun and wonky stack of layered papers from Amy Tangerine<\/a> and Studio Calico<\/a> completes this little page about my three little ones.<\/em><\/p>\n

Emma<\/a> is always looking for note paper, so decided to make her own memo holder.<\/p>\n

I can never find that all important pen and paper just when you need it to write a message and with this in mind, I decided to create my own memo older using the Tim Holtz Cabinet die <\/a>as a basic shape. I used Distress Paints<\/a> to create a verdigris look to the Riveted Metal<\/a> embossed panels and added rusty coloured hand crafted flowers<\/a> and an Ornate Plate<\/a> as embellishments.<\/em><\/p>\n

Meihsia<\/a> always has fun to create mixed media canvases to decorate her craft room.<\/p>\n

Although I love all the seasons I really wish spring would be here already. This week I decide to create a mixed media canvas with Prima Flowers<\/a> and butterfly to display on the wall of my craft room. I made the texture with modeling paste<\/a>, and added some sentiments with Tim Holtz Chitchat Stickers<\/a> and metal embellishments<\/a> on this canvas.<\/em><\/p>\n

Mona<\/a> was inspired to create a mixed media home decor wall hanging.<\/p>\n

I love to decorate my home with various homemade projects so I took advantage of this challenge to create a mixed media wall hanging featuring a crackled<\/a> Caged Bird<\/a>. Using a variety of Distress Stain Sprays<\/a>, I created an inky Trellis Framework<\/a> textured background. I embellished with a trio of die cut Tattered Pinecone<\/a> blossoms and Garden Greens<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Sandra<\/a> made herself a new notepad to write down her groceries in

\n My previous one had no more sheet to rip out, so I needed a new one that matches the new colors I decorated my new home with: teal and mint. I love the contruction with the canvas boards I used in the past. I applied the washi tape and I wanted to add some Classic Teal<\/a> colored Embossing Paste<\/a>, but was not sure with which stencil. When I saw the Stripes<\/a> one, I knew. Perfect fit for this notepad cover.<\/em><\/p>\n

Anna-Karin<\/a> had tons of fun altering and decorating this bird house.

\n I have a thing for houses and birds and Prima’s Altered Bird House Frame <\/a>called my name. The Bird House was altered with paints and various mediums<\/a>. I also used Prima’s Glass Beads <\/a>and the wonderful Moth Wings <\/a>and Butterfly Wings<\/a>. Inside the house you can find another bird<\/a>, die cut gears<\/a>, corked vials<\/a> and other bits and pieces. It has now become one of my favourite home decor pieces.<\/em><\/p>\n

Suzz<\/a> decided to pick up the leftover items in her catch all tray and mix up some Mail Art.<\/p>\n

I have a little antique brass tray on my desk and as I am doing laundry, cleaning the house or even in the car I pick up bits and pieces of metal that is left behind. I decided to use a Simon Says Stamp #10 Button & String envelope<\/a> as my canvas. I love these envelopes as they are the shape of a large tag and all you have to do is apply a layer of gesso<\/a> and start building up the objects you want to incorporate. I used Zip Dry<\/a> to add my embellishments and then another layer of gesso before I worked with the Ranger Distress Stain Sprays<\/a> to add color. I love that I now have a beautiful funky envelope to slip a card, gift card or note in and give to a friend.<\/em><\/p>\n

Michelle<\/a> took “No Rules” quite literally.<\/p>\n

“No Rules” is the perfect excuse to take one thing and turn in it into something entirely different. For instance, the Sizzix Mug and Spoon Die<\/a> creates a spoon shape that reminds me of a spoon doll. The sweet little faces were stamped with tiny face stamps<\/a>, but their clothes came from an unusual place; party hats from the Winnie & Walter Party<\/a> stamps!<\/em><\/p>\n

Andrea<\/a> decided to fully fill her folio.<\/p>\n

You know I’m a big fan of Tim Holtz’s folios<\/a>, so I decided to focus all of my crafty oomph on the inside of the folio. I have always loved the Lost and Found<\/a> paper collection, which I incorporated a lot, and I also utilized that fabulous trellis frameworks die<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

I (May<\/a>) decided it was time to decorate my art journal.<\/p>\n

I never bother decorating my art journal<\/a> covers as a rule, but then this challenge came along and I thought “why not?” and off I went! Armed with some distress spray stains<\/a>, a cute sticker<\/a>, and some gesso I was off and running. Avoiding my actual work and to-do lists? You betcha. It was great creative fun and I’d do it all over again too!<\/p>\n
