With Valentine\u2019s Day next week my mind is on hearts, but what else could this letter inspire in your crafting this week? From hexagons to heat embossing, Hero Arts to Heidi Swapp there are plenty of ways to let this week\u2019s letter challenge inspire you!<\/p>\n

With new Cracked Pistachio goodies now in stock<\/a> – I’ve got to thank Mr. Holtz for giving me inspiration for this challenge! Combined with some metallic distress paint<\/a> I’m sure loving the Mardi Gras feel of this tag! <\/p>\n

Ashli<\/a> was inspired by a new supply this week!<\/p>\n

A brand new set of PrismaColors<\/a> just landed on my desk and I couldn’t wait to use them! After lots of experimenting, I found a fun technique using my White Pitt Pen<\/a> to blend the colored pencils. And, since “H” is for heart, I played with some little heart doodles of my own. With those all set on the page, I layered up some Studio Calico<\/a> and Amy Tangerine<\/a> papers to complete this page.<\/em><\/p>\n

Emma’s <\/a>home is where the heart is!<\/p>\n

For me, there really is no place like home and I made this wallhanging to proudly display in my home. I painted an 8″ square canvas using Distress Paints<\/a> to create the background before adding a large die cut heart made from the Petal Drop Die<\/a>. The focal point of the canvas is made using a smaller die cut heart<\/a> placed in the centre of the stamped and die cut compass<\/a> and surrounded by various pieces of idea-ology, including the gorgeous Letterpress<\/a> blocks.<\/em><\/p>\n

Mona<\/a> was inspired to create piece of home d\u00e9cor.<\/p>\n

We love to travel but we always look forward to returning home. I created a wall hanging to share my fondness of our happy home featuring a couple of pieces from Wendy Vecchi’s Residences<\/a> which I added lots of texture and detail to using the Basically Bricks<\/a> stencil along with Crackled Texture Paste<\/a>. To express my sentiments in words, I combined fun Big Chat stickers<\/a> with Remnant Rubs<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Anna-Karin <\/a>went with a heart theme on this mixed media canvas panel.<\/p>\n

I was first planning something a little more for Valentine’s Day, but the project took on its own life. I made this for my son’s room and he picked some of the elements out. I had fun playing with Ranger’s Texture Tools<\/a> and Texture Paste<\/a> to create the background and used Tim Holtz stamps <\/a>as my main elements. The hearts were stamped<\/a> and hand drawn and there is also an Idea-ology Heart Charm<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Meihsia<\/a> was inspired to create an art journal page with a home theme.<\/p>\n

I made this art journal page because H is for home to me. “H”eidi Swapp Mustard Color Shine<\/a>, my favorite spray, was used on the background along with Distress Paint<\/a> after I covered this page with Gesso<\/a>. I glued some Tim Holtz metal embellishments<\/a> and Prima Flowers die<\/a> cut flowers to decorate the page.<\/em><\/p>\n

Suzz<\/a> inked it up to show off her hearts.<\/p>\n

I love mixing inks and creating backgrounds. I found this background already cut and ready to go in my folder of scraps. I loved the soft oranges, pinks and reds. I decided to use this as a base for a valentine card featuring my “H” this week.. hearts. I used a set of heart dies to trace my outline of my heart with watercolor pencils. I had plenty of pretty soft pastels in my background made with a mix of Ranger Disress Stain Sprays – Picket Fence<\/a>, Picked Raspberries<\/a>, and Sun Dried Marigold<\/a>. I used the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Alphabet<\/a> to stamp my message. I had a card finished already for my hubby but really like how this turned out so he may be getting two cards this year.<\/em><\/p>\n

Andrea<\/a> decorated her folio with a row of happy houses.<\/p>\n

Oh how I never get sick of using houses in my projects! Maybe the iconic house shape will always be tender to me because of the happy home memories I’m fortunate enough to have. I made my street of houses using Tim Holtz’s Artful Dwellings<\/a> dies on his Wallflower<\/a> paper.<\/em><\/p>\n

Sandra<\/a> was very happy to play in her art journal for this H challenge

\nI was inspired by the big Hugs die<\/a> from Simon Says Stamp. It’s so big, it’s perfect for in my art journal. I wanted to make a grungy distressed page because I love contrast, not only in color. I started with applying a thin layer of Gesso<\/a> with a palette knife on some Neenah Cardstock<\/a> and played with a few Gelatos<\/a> and a bit of water to make that drippage effect. With the Honeycomb<\/a> stencil I began to make some depth.<\/em><\/p>\n
