The rain clouds might seem dreary to some, but I love the clean smell and lovely sound of rain. Of course a lone fluffy cloud on a sunny day, or the view of the world from an airplane window above the clouds are equally lovely! This week we challenge you to wander up in the air for your inspiration. Whether you are inspired to create a light and fluffy piece, use sky blue, create an art journal or quote about clouds, or any other interpretation of our challenge we invite you to go soaring among the clouds with us this week.<\/p>\n

Mona<\/a> was inspired to create a cloud like background on her layout.<\/p>\n

I scrapped a photo that was taken while hiking the Swiss Alps. For a backdrop, I attempted to create a fluffy cloud like appearance using Texture Paste<\/a>. For a splash of color, Stormy Sky<\/a> and Brushed Pewter<\/a> Distress Stain Sprays were randomly added.<\/em><\/p>\n

A Simon Says Exclusive Die set served as Ashli’s<\/a> inspiration this week!<\/p>\n

I love pretty much anything clouds and the Simon Says Stamp Chevron Clouds<\/a> are no exception! With lots of lovely clouds cut, I simply layered them up with my photo and some Webster’s Pages Patterned Paper<\/a>. A little watercolor<\/a> and a hand written title finish things off!<\/em><\/p>\n

The sky was the limit for Emma’s<\/a> journal pages.<\/p>\n

I built up the background for my journal pages using a combination of Postale Tissue Wrap<\/a> and various shades of blue Distress Paints<\/a> to create the blue sky. I then added touches of Picket Fence Distress Paint<\/a> to capture the look of a cloudy sky before stamping the beautiful bird in flight from the Bird Feather stamp set<\/a> and adding the wording using Deco Type Industrious Stickers<\/a> and Chit Chat stickers.<\/em><\/p>\n

Sandra Mouwen<\/a> made a baby card inspired on a Dutch saying

\n My colleague has a cute baby daughter and I had to make a card for her! We have been saying in Dutch, a cloud of a baby. That’s literally translated, which means an healty beautiful baby. I wanted to make a super bright and fun card, and with Neon Pink<\/a> I’m sure it’s bright enough. In combination with Teresa Collins Stencil<\/a> I started making the background. The Cloud<\/a> is an exclusive from Simon Says Stamp.<\/em><\/p>\n

Suzz<\/a> decided to take to the sea with a cloudy background.<\/p>\n

I decided to catch the trade winds and paint a stormy scene. The stormy scene was divided into two different projects. A layer of gesso<\/a> on mixed media paper<\/a> was a great base for a mix of paints <\/a>and the DarkRoom Door – Sail Away <\/a>to create a few different scenes. I created this card for a male friend taking on a new challenge.<\/em><\/p>\n

Anna-Karin<\/a> likes to think of different ways to depict clouds.

\n I like to add clouds on my projects and it is fun to try out ways to imitate their fluffy nature. Here I inked through a stencil<\/a>, heat embossed and used Prima Mica Flakes <\/a>for my clouds. The cloud stencil and dies<\/a> are by Simon Says Stamp. The background is natural sticky-back canvas<\/a>, misted with Distress Spray Stains<\/a>. Finally, I added some stamped sentiments <\/a>and a lovely die cut tree<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Meihsia<\/a> was inspired by the rainy day and created an art journal page this week with some die cut clouds.<\/div>\n

\nI love rainy day so on this art journal page, I punched out the clouds using Fiskars Cloud Large Easy Squeeze Punch<\/a>, and stenciled the raindrops using Prima Flowers RainDrops Stencil<\/a>. The watercolored background was inspired by the rainy day through the window.<\/em><\/p>\n

Michelle<\/a> is feeling positive and created a card to share.<\/p>\n

It’s a new year, and things are looking up! Hopefully, my card will have the recipient walking on clouds. With the Avery Elle sentiment<\/a>, I can spread the sunshine. A fresh watercolor<\/a> background is pretty-in-pink peeking through the flat-bottomed clouds<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Andrea<\/a> made some day planner cards to keep her mind from being too far up in the clouds.<\/p>\n

Were you ever that kid in school who daydreamed a little too much and had your thoughts in the clouds? Yeah. That was me…especially in math class or anything that ended in -ology. I still need all the help I can get to stay “mentally grounded” in terms of what I need to get done. I decided to make some day planner cards using Studio L2E’s Plan It<\/a> stamp set, Waffle Flower’s Planner: Stay Focused <\/a>stamp set, and some great Flea Market<\/a> paper.<\/em><\/p>\n

This week I (May<\/a>) was so in the clouds, I forgot the theme.<\/p>\n

I was having so much fun creating on camera, and playing with the new Simon Says Stamp kit<\/a> that well, I forgot to stick to the theme! I’m hoping you can forgive me, as it is ‘up in the clouds’ after all! Some gold paste <\/a>and oh boy – I was really off and playing. Here’s hoping I can pull my head out of those creative clouds and stay focused next week!<\/p>\n
