Winter isn\u2019t just coming – it\u2019s fully here! With the holidays behind us and spring seeming so far away, let\u2019s focus on the season at hand. Will you stamp a snowy scene? Try a new use for a snowflake stamp? Perhaps be inspired by the colors of winter in your ink choices\u2026 however you decide to get stamping, we hope you\u2019ll join in the challenge and share.<\/p>\n

Winter is the season that Barbara<\/a> prefers!<\/p>\n

I like everything: the snow, the cold and sunny days, the colors. For this challenge I am in my comfort zone, I chose red and aqua for my color palette, a little unusual, a little vintage, as the stamps that I used. To create my little diorama I used an Ikea frame, and it was a real fun work! To change its look I used my favorite acrylic, Distress Paints and the last born in the family of Distress, the new sprays<\/a>! Reindeer<\/a>, snowflakes and a touch of glitter<\/a> have completed my winter landscape!<\/em><\/p>\n

Yes, I do love winter themed projects, but I’m so not a fan of winter weather! Although making a snowman is lots of fun. I made the blue background based on a Tim Holtz tag<\/a>. I loved that technique and wanted to play with it again. The Snowman <\/a>is cut out of Kraft cardstock<\/a> and colored it in with a few Distress Markers<\/a>. On top of that I used Wink of Stella Glitter Pen<\/a> to make it sparkle like snow.<\/em><\/p>\n

Suzz<\/a> created angel wings of snow.<\/p>\n

I have been coveting the Sizzix Textured Fades snowflake die<\/a> and was lucky enough to find it among my Christmas gifts. I love the feathery edges and effect with the embossing which inspired my angel wings. I layered gesso with Ranger Distress Stain Sprays – Milled Lavender<\/a> & Brushed Pewter <\/a> to give a soft color to my wings. I turned it into a wall hanging for my daughter to hang in her room for inspiration.<\/em><\/p>\n

I (May<\/a>) was inspired by a wintery blue color palette in my art journal this week.<\/p>\n

This crafty girl stamp<\/a> got me thinking… is she a winter crafter? Does she (like me) get more done in the winter months in her studio space? Thinking about this idea got me journaling for sure,\u00a0and the combination of my Dina Wakley paints <\/a> and my new Finetec watercolor paints<\/a> was really\u00a0fun here! I love the results- and I’m inspired to try more projects with this lovely stamp of mine.<\/p>\n

Michelle<\/a> is reminded of a winter tale by Hans Christian Andersen.<\/p>\n

I associate winter with cold. Bitter cold. I remembered the story of the Little Match Girl, and created matchbook notebooks with my Martha Stewart Scoring Board<\/a> and my Tiny Attacher<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Meihsia<\/a> was inspired to create a winter scene with a snowman on her art journal page.<\/p>\n

I wanted to create a snow scene on my art journal page since there was no snow this winter in Dallas and I really missed it. I watercolored the background with Distress Spray Stain<\/a>, and stamped the snowman using Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamp Halftone Christmas<\/a>. Then I created the snow using Modeling Paste<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Ashl<\/a>i was inspired to scrap her daughter’s birthday.<\/p>\n

What better way to start on a layout all about a Frozen themed birthday party than with some winter stamping? To begin, I used some Hero Arts Chalk ink in blue <\/a>to stamp on some lovely Birch Trees<\/a>. I followed this up with a touch of Gold<\/a> and then finished things off with some Maggie Holmes Chipboard<\/a>. I love the way the winter stamping accents my theme!<\/em><\/p>\n

Emma’s<\/a> winter wonderland came to life after watching the movie Frozen.<\/p>\n

With the song “Let It Go” stuck in my mind, I knew that I wanted to capture an icy blue, frosty feel to my tag and began by stamping an embossed white background using the Tim Holtz Holiday Knit stamp<\/a>. I built up my winter scene by stamping the Blueprint Snowman<\/a> and colouring it with Distress Markers<\/a> before surrounding it with die cut Holiday Greens<\/a> and adding a Flash Card<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Andrea<\/a> stamped on a dis-assembled snowman die to make some snazzy polka dots.<\/p>\n

I have always loved the wonky lines of Tim Holtz’s snowman die<\/a>, so I thought I’d re-purpose the snowman into polka dots to decorate a notebook. Hopefully the snowman doesn’t mind taking on another form! I covered his snowy whiteness with some text stamps (Purely Random<\/a> and Paper Artsy HP 1211<\/a>), and added some black gesso<\/a> for that extra bit of oomph.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n This week I wanted to make a cold winter night time scene using Hero Art’s gorgeous Forest stencil <\/a>and Ranger’s Texture Paste<\/a>. The background is painted with Dina Wakley’s acrylic paints<\/a>. For a finishing sparkly snow touch, I used Prima Frosted Mica Flakes<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Mona<\/a> was inspired to stamp a winter wonderland on a picture frame.<\/p>\n

I love to alter home decor pieces and this challenge inspired me to do just that. I collaged tissue wrap<\/a> to the frame to create a base then from there, I applied stormy sky Distress Paint<\/a> followed with randomly stamped \/ heat embossed Grunge Flakes<\/a>. For added interest and design, I used Texture Paste along with the Latticework stencil<\/a>. A die cut crackled<\/a> Stacked Snowflake<\/a> was added to complete the project.<\/em><\/p>\n
