Hello everyone! It is Anna-Karin <\/a>here with a winter scene tutorial, using mainly Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Stencils<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I worked in my Ranger Small Creative Journal<\/a>, but the techniques work just as well for cardmaking, tags or maybe to create a scene in a scrapbook. I love making my own scenes, using stamps, dies, stencils and more. This week, I decided to focus on stencils, since I wanted to use the new Christmas Scene <\/a>stencil.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Ink the snowy hills, carefully holding the stencil in place. I used a Colorbox Stylus Tool<\/a> for my inking, with an oval blender foam tip<\/a>. It gives great control. Start with the lightest shade of blue (Tumbled Glass) and continue with Stormy Sky and then Faded Jeans. Move the stencil to complete the hills.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I love the trees on this stencil, and there are many of them too, so you can create a varied scene. Ink them with the same colours as used on the hills, making the trees towards the front a little darker.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I wanted some clouds in the sky and used the Make a Scene <\/a>stencil and Tumbled Glass ink. You don’t need a lot of ink for the clouds to show.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

For snow, use the Falling Snow <\/a>stencil and Tumbled Glass ink for the snow in the sky, but Stormy Sky for the snow on the ground, to make it stand out better.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

To add another element to the scene, I reached for the wonderful Mod Tree <\/a>Simon Says Stamp die. It was die cut three times from white cardstock using the Sizzix Magnetic Platform <\/a>and Big Shot <\/a>machine. Cut two of the trees shorter.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Stamp sentiments from the Peace on Earth <\/a>set using Jet Black ink and add a little bit of journaling.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The mix of blues, soft inking, rolling hills and varied trees makes for a peaceful page, great for winter time.<\/p>\n
