Remember when\u2026 it\u2019s fun to walk down memory lane and whether you\u2019d like to create a classic vintage project, try a technique you used to use, or perhaps walk down memory lane we want to see how you\u2019re inspired by the good \u2018ol days.<\/p>\n

Sandra Mouwen<\/a> was inspired by Tim Holtz January 2014 tag<\/p>\n

I love industrial, steampunk and grunge. And when I was thinking about this challenge, Tim’s January tag<\/a> popped in my head. Perfect inspiration for making this art journal page. For the background I used Pumice Stone Distress Ink<\/a> and played with a lot of stamps, like the Retro Circles<\/a>, Checkered<\/a> and Numbers<\/a>. The Painted Industrial technique is such a great technique, love it! Makes the metal elements pop!<\/em><\/p>\n

Suzz<\/a> had thoughts of some of her favorite stamps that are the oldest in her collection.<\/p>\n

One of the many things I love about Simon Says Stamp<\/a> is that they have a great variety of stamps and many times if I see a stamp that may have been released previously and I love I can find it in the store. For this weeks challenge I decided to sort oldest to newest in the store for stamps to see what goodies exist. The Hero Arts Stunning Snowflake DesignBlock<\/a> is one of the good old stamps that I love and wanted to play with. I had a new technique I wanted to try with Wendy Vecchi’s Silver Embossing Paste<\/a> which made this card a perfect mix of old and new.<\/em><\/p>\n

Meihsia<\/a> created a vintage mixed media canvas with an old picture.

I loved this vintage photo when I saw it since it reminded me of my lovely brother and sister. I decided to create a mixed media canvas to display in my craft room using this photo. The canvas was colored with Distress Paints<\/a> on the background and attached with Prima Flowers Antique Frame<\/a> and Gear Resin Icons<\/a>. Gold Izink pigmenet ink<\/a> was randomly added on the embellishments for the final touch.<\/em><\/p>\n

Anna-Karin<\/a> took a walk down memory lane in an old scrapbooking album.

\n I had a look at the very first layout I posted online in the ‘good ‘ol days’ and was inspired by the grid design and a couple of other things. I used Tim Holtz stencils <\/a>and Rangers Texture Paste<\/a>, together with Distress Stains <\/a>for the different squares. The circles <\/a>were die cut from scrap papers and stamped with small images<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Michelle<\/a> was inspired by the fun shape of a new product.<\/p>\n

The new Sizzix “Labels”<\/a> set has so many fun shapes! I was delighted by a shape that reminded me of old-fashioned medals. The Prima Flair <\/a>fit nicely in an old bottle cap and added the perfect amount of color to my Vintage Inspired Prize Medals.<\/em><\/p>\n

Emma<\/a> was inspired by the beautiful, nostalgic imagery of Christmas past.<\/p>\n

I wanted to make a start on my Christmas crafting and not, as in past years leave it until the last minute and then go and buy cards from a store. So, when I saw this challenge I just knew this would be the perfect place for me to begin. I used the Victorian Carolers <\/a>images which I felt were the epitome of the good ‘ol days and placed them over the music score background from the Festive Sounds stamp set<\/a>. To complete the card, I added some crinkle ribbon dyed with Festive Berries Distress Stain<\/a> and a Snowflake adornment<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

I (May<\/a>) got to thinking about Grandma’s cabin in the woods.<\/p>\n

Something about this Tim Holtz texture fade <\/a>got me thinking about a special cabin in the woods, and about how Grandma used to always send me pinecone ornaments and things. This train of thought sent me down a nostalgic path that resulted in this tag, and I’m so glad! I love the colors and the pinecone stamp<\/a> and it will be a perfect topper for a special package this Christmas.<\/p>\n

Mona<\/a> was inspired to create a vintage themed layout featuring a photo of the gorgeous Eiffel Tower.<\/p>\n

I love most anything vintage especially beautiful vintage landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower. A piece of beautiful paper from the French Industrial collection<\/a> triggered my creativity to scrap a photo of the Eiffel Tower that my husband snapped while we were vacationing in France. After creating the collage background using other papers from the French Industrial collection<\/a>, I used various Distress Inks<\/a> along with the Harlequin stencil<\/a> to add a touch more color and design. I embellished the layout with various metal findings which I colorized using Gesso<\/a>, Vintage Photo<\/a> and Faded Jeans<\/a> Distress Stains.<\/em><\/p>\n

Andrea<\/a> considers cassette tapes part of the good old days.<\/p>\n

Oh how I remember sitting in my room, glued to the radio, waiting for my favorite songs to come on so I could hit the “record” button on my tape player. Timing was critical and you just hoped the DJ wouldn’t ruin your recording by talking over the beginning or end. Technology has come a way, but I decided to make a roladex of song memories: My Life’s Soundtrack. I adore the Cassette Tape Die<\/a> and matching Playlist Clear Stamps<\/a> that I used for this project.<\/em><\/p>\n
