Barbara<\/a> loves playing with stamps and stencils in her art journal.<\/p>\n

Stamps and stencils are two of the “tools” of a crafter that I love most! This is the second page of my art journal and I played with Simon’s exclusive stencil <\/a>that I love very much and Tim’s stamps<\/a>! To add more fun to my work I used Distress paints<\/a> and Gelatos<\/a> in warm tones of yellow, pink, and orange, unusual shades for me! <\/em><\/p>\n

Emma<\/a> was in her element using stencils to create the background for her wall hanging.<\/p>\n

I had so much fun creating this piece, using a combination of embossing paste through the Zig Zag Dots stencil<\/a> and playing with the Distress Marker Spritzer,<\/a> misting Black Soot through the Latticework Layering Stencil <\/a>to give me a wonderful textural background set against one of my favourite colour palettes, Evergreen Bough<\/a>. I added the gorgeous Layered Dragonfly<\/a>, various Idea-Ology and finished the project with a stamped quote<\/a>.<\/em>

\nSandra Mouwen<\/a> always has lots of fun playing with stamps and stencils

\n I don’t know what I’ll do if I don’t have any stamps or stencils. They are such great tools to make a project amazing. For this page I started with a blanco sheet of Neenah Solar White<\/a> cardstock. And with the Harlequin stencil along with Tattered Rose<\/a> and Dried Marigold<\/a> Distress Ink, I began to build up the background. With lots of differtent washi tape I made the composition and to adhance those lines, I stamped along them with the Cartographer<\/a> stamp amongst other stamps.<\/em><\/p>\n

Ashli<\/a> was inspired to create some embellishments using a stencil this week…<\/p>\n

A super fun way to use a stencil is to make your own embellishments using Modeling Paste<\/a>. This week, I did just that for the cover of my notebook! Using the Simon Says Bouquet of Flowers Stencil<\/a>, and some Modeling Paste<\/a>, I was able to work up these embellishments in no time! Some Watercolors<\/a> and a bit of Mist<\/a> finish off the cover of my little journal.<\/em><\/p>\n

Anna-Karin<\/a> was in the mood for art journaling this week.

\nWith stamps, stencils and some paint and ink you can create anything you want to on a white piece of paper. I love the endless possibilties with these products. Here I used stamps <\/a>and stencils <\/a>together with Dina Wakley’s vibrant paints<\/a>, some ink <\/a>and Ranger’s Texture Paste<\/a>. This shade of pink is not a colour I use often, but I really liked the result. The page was finished with old dictionary paper circles and words.<\/em><\/p>\n

Michelle<\/a> created a scrapbook layout using stamps and stencils.<\/p>\n

I was excited to use the Waffle Flower “Be My Guest” Stamps <\/a>with my old photo to create this vintage inspired layout. Tattered Leaves <\/a>and Wendy Vecchi Gold Embossing Paste<\/a> transformed ordinary embellishments into Autumn treasures.<\/em><\/p>\n

Halloween is creeping up and Suzz<\/a> created a Treat of a tag.<\/p>\n

Halloween is such a fun time of the year and we love going out and seeing the clever, sweet, and funny costumes. I had this bit of stenciled inky background with some non traditional halloween colors that I thought would be fun to create into a Halloween tag for one of my older kiddos who doesn’t get to go trick or treating anymore. The trick-or-treat kids from Tim Holtz Halloween set<\/a> made the perfect border. My non traditional colors came from the Ranger Dauber Paint – Honey <\/a>and Ranger Dauber Paint – Salty Ocean. <\/a> Now I have a fun tag to put on a treat bag going off to my son at college.<\/em><\/p>\n

Meihsia<\/a> created an art journal page with her favorite stamp and stencil this week.

\n Stamps and stencils are essential for my art journaling. This week, I used my favorite Tim Holtz Rubber Stamp Brush Collection<\/a> and Tim Holtz Layering Stencil Harlequin<\/a> to create this art journal page. The background of this page was sprayed with Clearsnap Colorbox Pinkolicious Dye Ink Spritzer<\/a> and stenciled with Modeling Paste<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Mona<\/a> was inspired to create a mixed media style card using both stamps and a stencil.<\/p>\n

I love t0 create layers on my projects using both stamps and stencils. This week, I inked up a fun sentiment from Apothecary Labels<\/a> surrounded it with various flowers including die cut roses<\/a>. For the background, I combined a variety of Distress Inks<\/a> and added texture and design using the Latticework stencil<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Andrea<\/a> made a Color Book to stay inspired with all sorts of lovely shades and hues.<\/p>\n

Don’t report me to the hardware store police, but I made a color book out of more than my share of paint color swatches that I acquired from Home Depot and Lowe’s. I put my paint swatch acquisitions to good use by making a color book where I store notes and samples of various Distress paint, inks and stains. I made the cover using this great little Picture Wheel die<\/a>, a Rings and Puddles stencil<\/a> and this stylish bathing beauty that I cut out of the Fancy Pants Me-Ology paper collection<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

I (May<\/a>) think stamps + stencils are the perfect combination.<\/p>\n

Armed with my new Dina Wakley stamps <\/a>and one of my favorite Tim Holtz stencils<\/a> I set out to play with paste, distress, and generally just have a real good time with this week’s challenge. I love how stencils can help add texture and fun to my stamping projects!<\/p>\n
