How will you use white this week? Will it be with gesso? ink? pen? Or perhaps you will transform simple white cardstock\u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/michellezerull.blogspot.com\/2014\/06\/white-waffle-flower-tags.html\" target=\"_blank\">Michelle<\/a> likes mixing white with other neutrals.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/06\/michelle_white.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"677\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>When combined, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=80070&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Picket Fence <\/a>white stain and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=131760&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Simon Says Stamp Khaki Ink <\/a> create a classic Summer color palette. Together, they are reminiscent of a crisp. white linen shirt and a wide-brimmed straw hat. It was this color combination that inspired me to create tags with the new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=302594&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Waffle Flower Circles Stamp Set<\/a>. I love the retro inspired graphics of this set. They remind me of Summer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/\/cupcakescreations.blogspot.com\/2014\/06\/a-patriotic-layout.html\" target=\"_blank\">Mona<\/a> was inspired to create a patriotic themed layout with an all white background.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/06\/mona_white.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"576\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>I love the texture and dimension of the embossed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=50333\" target=\"_blank\">star<\/a> studded background! I wanted the patriotic images from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=109350\" target=\"_blank\">Mini Blueprints 2<\/a> to standout as well, so I stamped and heat embossed the images using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=134161\" target=\"_blank\">super fine embossing powder<\/a> then applied white chalk to create a chalkboard appearance.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This week <a href=\"http:\/\/dan99.blogspot.com\/2014\/06\/all-white-on-night.html\" target=\"_blank\">Dan<\/a> decided to decorate a plain white mirror frame.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/dan99crafter\/photo-album\/sssWhite1.jpg\" width=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>I&#8217;ve had this mirror kicking around for a couple of years, staring at me sullenly from a pile of neglected items waiting to be altered. When I saw the theme for this week I knew that it&#8217;s time had finally come! Among the products I used were the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=195030&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Laboratorie paper pad<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=112183&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">French Industrial Salvage Stickers<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=92859&amp;c=0http:\/\/\" target=\"_blank\">Commute Tissue Tape<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/snappingmonsters.blogspot.com\/2014\/06\/my-other-creations-wish-gift-card-tin.html\" target=\"_blank\">Andrea<\/a> relied on classic white Gesso to create this wonderful gift card tin.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/06\/andrea_white.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"700\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>I am a total color-aholic, so a &#8220;white&#8221; challenge posed challenging indeed! I decided to use <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=133654&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">white Gesso<\/a> as my base for this gift card tin, which I highlighted with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=111470&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Spun Sugar Distress Paint<\/a>. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=88491&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">apothecary jar<\/a> added just the perfect touch for this I-left-as-much-white-as-I-possibly-could project!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/layersofink.blogspot.com\/2014\/06\/white-acetate-card.html\" target=\"_blank\">Anna-Karin<\/a> made a card this week, using mainly white.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/images-blogger-opensocial.googleusercontent.com\/gadgets\/proxy?url=http%3A%2F%2F3.bp.blogspot.com%2F-V7-KGenjCs0%2FU6RNueXv7tI%2FAAAAAAAAPWE%2FjQPKLKUaoRI%2Fs1600%2Fwhite%2Bacetate%2Bcard%2B-%2BAnna-Karin.jpg&amp;container=blogger&amp;gadget=a&amp;rewriteMime=image%2F*\" width=\"600\" height=\"737\" \/><br \/>\n<em>I like the look of white together with just a touch of another colour, in this case green. Here I used a bunch of fun <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/search.aspx?f15=381\" target=\"_blank\">Simon Says Stamp Exclusive dies<\/a>. The cardbase is a piece of folded acetate, on top of which the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=116274&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Bubbles Background <\/a>looked great, adhered with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=80467&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">foam dots<\/a>. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=120778&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">little tree<\/a> was die cut from cream cardstock and I used <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=77896&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Archival Ink Sap Green <\/a>for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=108129&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">stamping<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/yayascrap.blogspot.com\/2014\/06\/simon-says-w-is-for-white.html\" target=\"_blank\">Barbara<\/a> began with white papers to inspire her nautical piece.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1677\" alt=\"barbara_white\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/06\/barbara_white.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"537\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/06\/barbara_white.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/06\/barbara_white-300x268.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>White is a color far away from my &#8220;comfort zone&#8221; and it was not easy for me to find a way to use it in my project! The holidays are really near and the white has reminded me the sea, the waves and the sand, so what better than to use Tim Holtz&#8217;s stamp set <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=133163&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Nautical<\/a>? For the background of my card I used the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=104912&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Core&#8217;dinations Whitewash cardstocks<\/a> that I adore for their versatility! My last white inspiration is the fabulous <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=123147&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Distress Watercolor paper <\/a>to color my stamp.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/craftaddicts-tracyevans.blogspot.com\/2014\/06\/spread-your-wings.html\" target=\"_blank\">Tracy<\/a> decided on a classic black and white theme to create her dimensional piece of art.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/06\/tracy_white.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"712\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>I have not created anything in black and white for a long time and this made a refreshing change, I love how crisp and clean and classic black and white is in art. Bold black imagery was used from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=133137&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Tim Holtz Nature Walk<\/a> stamp set combined with a more delicate backdrop created using the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=133173&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Latticework Layering Stencil<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=32832&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Black Soot Distress Ink<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=77872&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Black Archival Ink<\/a> were key in this project along with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=111516&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Black Soot Distress Paint<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=95125&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Snowflake Fresco Finish Paint<\/a>. Bold imagery and a delicte backdrop give my piece a real crisp classic feel!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When <a href=\"http:\/\/suzzstampingspot.blogspot.com\/2014\/06\/lace-angel.html\">Suzz<\/a> thought of ivory and white she thought of her large lace trim collection.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/06\/suzz_white.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"1072\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>I have been wanting to up-cycle an old dish soap bottle that I cleaned out and the thought of all that lace trims had me thinkng of how I could dress it up like a dress form. After I had dressed up my bottle I decided she needed wings which the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=35395&amp;c=0\">angel wings stamp <\/a> with some lovely<a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=91352&amp;c=0\"> white ink<\/a> on kraft cardstock provided.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/purplemailbox.blogspot.com\/2014\/06\/white-on-white.html\" target=\"_blank\">Ashli<\/a> was inspired to create a mixed media piece full of white this week.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/06\/Ashli-Oliver-soapHOUSEmama-Simon-Says-Stamp-Monday-Challenge-From-White-1.jpg\" width=\"599\" height=\"878\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>I love the look of white on white, on top of more white. The varying shades give such a subtle and lovely dimension to a piece. With lots of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=133654&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Gesso<\/a>, scrap papers, and a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=135040&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Crate Paper Embellishment<\/a>, this tone on tone piece is all ready to hang!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/madebysannie.blogspot.com\/2014\/06\/its-all-white.html\" target=\"_blank\">Sandra Mouwen<\/a> went all white in her art journal<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/dev.smouwen.nl\/blog\/include\/images\/blog_images\/%23SSSDT\/2014\/1402775178620a.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><br \/>\n<em> For this challenge I made all white pages. White is such a serene color. It&#8217;s tricky to make it monochromatic like this, because then it&#8217;s all about the texture and composition. I have a thing for doiley dies at the moment, such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=115093&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Documented For The Record<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=115083\" target=\"_blank\">Note To Self<\/a>. In the back I also made a doily with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-51357\/Wendy-Vecchi-WHITE-EMBOSSING\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Embossing Paste<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=123850&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Doily Elements<\/a> stencil.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/stickydots.blogspot.com\/2014\/06\/w-is-for-white-simon-says-stamp-monday.html\" target=\"_blank\">Emma<\/a> chose to use plenty of white space as a feature on her card.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/06\/emma_white.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"705\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>I had many ideas for this challenge and my first thought was to do an all white piece but then I thought again, and I chose to use something I don&#8217;t do very often and that&#8217;s to incorporate white space within my work. So, I transformed a piece of plain white card using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=111472&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Picked Raspberry<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=127048&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Ripe Persimmon<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=111494&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Broken China<\/a> Distress Paints and allowed them to drip down the card. I stamped one of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=134689\" target=\"_blank\">Dina Wakley&#8217;s Face In The Crowd<\/a> images and messages onto the background, painted it with more Distress Paint and then mounted the finished piece onto a second piece of white card, and added white <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=95898&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Crinkle Ribbon<\/a> tied into a shabby bow.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Check back on Wednesday to see how<a href=\"http:\/\/meihsia.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Meihsia<\/a> created her mixed media wall decor with various shades of white.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3855\/14205604359_b24478acba_o.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For more inspiration click on our design team&#8217;s blog links so you can see more photos (and full supply lists) for their projects.
