We challenge you this week to get out your artsy stamps and play! Or &#8211; get any stamps our and join us in some artsy stamping fun!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/yayascrap.blogspot.com\/2014\/05\/simon-says-stamp-monday-challenge-artsy.html\" target=\"_blank\">Barbara <\/a>knows how much artsy stamps can add to her tags.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/05\/artsy_barbara.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"742\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Use the stamps of this kind for this challenge was very attractive. Their designs and their faces, possess something magical and antique at the same time. In my tag I tried to represent the phrase that I used up &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=73161&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">It&#8217;s all perspective<\/a>&#8221; and that is perfectly suited to the world of art and creativity. To do so, I used the gears and the magnificent face <a href=\"https:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=133187&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Stampers Anonymous Classics<\/a> colored blue, to break out. I added the heart, right inside the head, because I think that hearts and minds should always walking together!<\/em> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/craftaddicts-tracyevans.blogspot.com\/2014\/05\/bold-strong-spirited.html\" target=\"_blank\">Tracy<\/a> decided to incorporate an image from Dina Walkey with an inky background to create a tag card. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/05\/artsy_tracy.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"739\" \/> <\/p>\n<p><em>I decided that the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=134685&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Dina Wakley All The Gals<\/a> was the perfect artsy stamp to use along with an inky background. I incorporated one of the images along with Archival Reinkers <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=123856&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Cornflower Blue<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=133642&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Tree Branch<\/a> to create an inky artsy backdrop to coordinate with the quirky sketchy image. Adding several layers of interest adds to the artsy feel of the design adding into the mix a layer using the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=124567&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Cargo Layering Stencil<\/a>. I love these designs where you can add many layers but see each one clearly in the design. This was great messy fun to create!<\/em><\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"http:\/\/cupcakescreations.blogspot.com\/2014\/05\/live-everyday.html\" target=\"_blank\">Mona<\/a> was inspired to create a card featuring a Tim Holtz artsy image as the focal point on a paintmarbled background. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/05\/artsy_mona.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"837\" \/> <\/p>\n<p><em>I was so excited to ink up the fun butterfly image from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=45762\" target=\"_blank\">Fairytale Frenzy<\/a> with Archival <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=77872\" target=\"_blank\">Jet Black<\/a> ink for this challenge. The colorful paintmarbled background was created using a combination of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=118020\" target=\"_blank\">tarnished brass<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=118018\" target=\"_blank\">brushed pewter<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=118016\" target=\"_blank\">antiqued bronze<\/a> Distress Paints. All the drips extending from the butterfly image mimicking dripping wet paint screams artsy to me, how about you?<\/em> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/purplemailbox.blogspot.com\/2014\/05\/an-artsy-intro.html\" target=\"_blank\">Ashli<\/a> took inspiration from a Dear Lizzy die cut to put her new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=134687&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Dina Wakley stamps<\/a> to use&#8230; <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/05\/Ashli-Oliver-Simon-Says-Stamp-Challenge-Artsy-Stamp-14.a.jpg\" width=\"599\" height=\"556\" \/> <\/p>\n<p><em>I just love the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=135173&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Dear Lizzy 12&#215;12 Wood Veneer<\/a> and when I saw the new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=134687&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Dina Wakley Collaged Heart Stamps<\/a>, I knew they would be perfect to craft up my very own custom heart paper. Using the stamps, I created texture with both <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=135936&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Modeling Paste <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=57327&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">White Heat Embossing<\/a>. Some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=301231&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">watercolors<\/a> finished off this fun and personalized intro page to one of my albums!<\/em> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/madebysannie.blogspot.com\/2014\/05\/dare-to-be-artsy.html\" target=\"_blank\">Sandra Mouwen<\/a> went all artsy with her tag. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/dev.smouwen.nl\/blog\/include\/images\/blog_images\/%23SSSDT\/2014\/IMG_3876.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"985\" \/><\/p>\n<p> <em> I so adore the new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/search.aspx?Keywords=dina+wakley+stamps\" target=\"_blank\">Dina Stamps<\/a>, and enjoyed making this tag with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-65140\/SCRIBBLY-BIRDS-BIRD-MDR41320\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Scribbly Birds<\/a>. They are so artsy and wanted my tag to complement those cuties. I made lots of layers with stencils but leaving lots of white space. The first layer I made with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/servlet\/the-64479\/Tim-Holtz-Distress-Marker\/Detail\" target=\"_blank\">Distress Marker Spritzer<\/a>, the other layers I made with those stunning bright <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=93409\" target=\"_blank\">Dylusion Sprays<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"http:\/\/stickydots.blogspot.com\/2014\/05\/the-artsy-stamp-simon-says-stamp-monday.html\" target=\"_blank\">Emma<\/a> didn&#8217;t hesitate when it came to choosing the artsy stamp she wanted to use. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/05\/artsy_emma.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"659\" \/> <\/p>\n<p><em>I absolutely adore the art of Brett Weldele and when I saw the title of this challenge, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=112004&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Time Travelers stamp set<\/a> was definitely my first choice. The image is stamped onto <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=137733&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">water colour card<\/a> and coloured with<a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=123151&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\"> Distress Markers<\/a> using a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=92733&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">water brush<\/a>, then added to an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=111978&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">embossed<\/a> metallic background, surrounded by alcohol inked die cut <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=56524&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">gadget gears<\/a>.<\/em> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/suzzstampingspot.blogspot.com\/2014\/05\/mother-nature.html\">Suzz<\/a> created a tag featuring her version of Mother Nature this week. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/05\/artsy-suzz.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"1043\" \/> <\/p>\n<p><em>Mother Nature ended up on my tag today inspecting her children. I hardly ever use faces in my art but was inspired by the lovely face from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=134878&amp;c=0\">Stampers Anonymous Dreamers.<\/a> The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=133781&amp;c=0\">Wendy Vecchi Beauty<\/a> flower is not only the flower being looked over by her Mother but it also creates the crown.<\/em> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/meihsia.blogspot.com\/2014\/05\/i-just-love-this-art-journal.html\" target=\"_blank\">Meihsia<\/a> enjoyed the creative process of stamping and coloring with two artsy stamps. <\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7452\/14175097901_e00284c413_o.jpg\" \/> <\/p>\n<p><em>I believe that happiness is simple and life doesn&#8217;t have to be perfect to be wonderful. So on my art journal pages this week, I stamped <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=112020&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Tim Holtz Cling Stamp Way with Words<\/a> since I just love that saying. There is another artsy stamp &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=298247&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Prima Flower Paige Bloom Girl<\/a> was colored with<a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=301231&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\"> Loew Cornell watercolor<\/a> and adhered with Prima Flowers and Prima metal embellishments on this art journal page.<\/em> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/michellezerull.blogspot.com\/2014\/05\/artsy-doodle.html\" target=\"_blank\">Michelle<\/a> likes to doodle. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/05\/michelle_artsy.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"604\" \/> <\/p>\n<p><em>A die to cut <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=123525&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Journaling cards<\/a>? No, add a tab and they become fun and artsy tags. They were a snap to make with the help of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=117618&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Paper Artsy JOFY Mini 16<\/a> stamp. When stamped on top of the artistic <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=301138&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Prima Free Spirit papers<\/a>, the doodles came to life.<\/em> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/dan99.blogspot.com\/2014\/05\/tell-your-story.html\" target=\"_blank\">Dan<\/a> decided to use some of the arty stamp designs by Brett Weldele for Tim Holtz. <\/p>\n<p><img class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/dan99crafter\/photo-album\/sssArty1.jpg\" width=\"600\" \/> <\/p>\n<p><em>The stamping world abounds with images of women in all kinds of styles and looks but it&#8217;s much more difficult to find good images of men other than reproductions of old engravings. That&#8217;s why I appreciate these hand drawn images by Brett Weldele which are part of the Tim Holtz line with Stampers Anonymous. The stamp sets I used were <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=111552&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Simple Sayings<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=123640&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">The Chemist<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=133147&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Cracks and Specks<\/a>.<\/em> <\/p>\n<p>Inspired by beverage, <a href=\"http:\/\/snappingmonsters.blogspot.com\/2014\/05\/my-cards-and-tags-tea-bag-tags.html\" target=\"_blank\">Andrea<\/a> created Tea Bag Tags this week. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstampblog.com\/mondaychallenge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/05\/andrea-artsy.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/> <\/p>\n<p><em>There are some things in life that I find to be undeniably cute. One is little kids in puffy winter coats, another is mountain goats and a third is tea bags. I know, there&#8217;s no logic or pattern, but there you have it. Since it would be hard to work with kids in coats or mountain goats, I decided to focus on tea bags this week. I adore their little strings and mini tags. But I wanted to give these tea bags a bright bold look and for that, there is nothing more perfect than Dina Wakley&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=134687&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Collaged Hearts<\/a> stamp set, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=80921&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">black Gesso<\/a>, and stencils like the Crafter&#8217;s Workshop&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simonsaysstamp.com\/product.aspx?id=94907&amp;c=0\" target=\"_blank\">Mini Cursive Alphabet<\/a>.<\/em> <\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t miss <a href=\"http:\/\/layersofink.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Anna-Karin&#8217;s <\/a>tutorial on Wednesday, when she will get inky with some very artsy stamps.
