Today is 5\/5, and since the day and month are very rarely the same number I\u2019ve got a special kind of challenge in mind!<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a pick-your-adventure kind of challenge.<\/h3>\n

A) You need to \u201cpick five\u201d things TOTAL to create your next project. (and yes, picking something like \u2018copic markers\u2019 would count as one thing but you could use multiple colors)<\/p>\n

or<\/p>\n

B) You need to use five of something (papers, buttons – anything!) on your project<\/p>\n

or<\/p>\n

C) be inspired by the number five<\/p>\n

Let’s see what the team came up with!<\/p>\n

Mona<\/a> challenged herself to create a greeting card using five main products.<\/p>\n

Since this card is rather simple without a lot of “fluff”, I made it for my husband for our upcoming wedding anniversary celebration. I pieced pretty patterned paper from the Tim Holtz Wallflower<\/a> collection, stitched it on to a piece of Tim Holtz Kraft Core<\/a> cardstock, adhered a couple of distressed die cut mini hearts<\/a> along with a beautiful rose charm<\/a> and completed it with a hashtag<\/a> sentiment. I have to hide this from my husband for a few months!<\/em><\/p>\n

Ashli<\/a> chose to put her embossing folders to good use this week!<\/p>\n

For this layout, I pulled out 5 of my favorite embossing folders<\/a> and put them to good use for my grid design of journaling pockets. A little watercolor,<\/a> and some tags finish off the foundation of this page all about the silly things my daughter does and says right now!<\/em><\/p>\n

Anna-Karin<\/a> thought it was a real challenge sticking to her five products.

\nI picked out five different products: Simon Says Stamp dye inks<\/a>, Simon Says Stamp Falling Hearts stencil<\/a>, a stamp set by Wendy Vecchi<\/a>, Kelly Purkey washi tape <\/a>and heart dies <\/a>also by Simon Says Stamp. The only thing I added was paper. This page was done on Ranger’s Specialty Stamping Paper<\/a>, which gave the dye inks a really vibrant look. I also used a tiny piece of old book paper.<\/em><\/p>\n

Meihsia<\/a> loves to have some angels on her spring garden art journal page.

I don’t usually put many dimensional embellishments on my art journal but I really love these five Prima Flowers Resin Angels<\/a> and have to let them stay on my spring garden journal page. After watercoloring the background with Izink inks<\/a>, I created the raindrops with Prima Flower Raindrops stencil<\/a> and modeling paste<\/a>, and the brick pattern with TCW Mini Brick Template<\/a> and Color Shine.<\/em><\/p>\n

Dan<\/a> decided he was going to use 5 stamped images on his arty card this week.<\/p>\n

While making this card I put stamp to paper 5 times, can you spot them all? It’s not as easy as it might at first seem! Once again I played with some of the newer Tim Holtz releases this week, “Daydream<\/a>” and “Purveyor<\/a>“. The background started out as a panel from the “Laboratorie<\/a>” card stash.<\/em><\/p>\n

Michelle<\/a> created a set of Five tags with Five products.<\/p>\n

The Hero Art stamp that I used is named “Three Smiles”, <\/a>but I got five of these lovely ladies to grin. I used the Avery Elle Simply Tags <\/a>die to cut five tags which were watercolored with Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils.<\/a> I added fun embellishments from BasicGrey Spice Market Die Cuts and Transparencies<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

I (May<\/a>) am having a creative fiesta with my five distress favorites!<\/p>\n

My background is created with five bright, fabulous, and totally FUN colors of distress<\/a>! Paired with some new washi tape<\/a> and a classic flower die <\/a>and this card was nearly as fun to make as it will be to send to a special crafty friend.<\/p>\n

Tracy<\/a> opted for an artsy card this week incorporating numbers 1 through to 5 in her quirky design.<\/p>\n

I knew I wanted to incorporate numbers in my design this week and I decided that Tim Holtz Numeric Stamp Set<\/a> combined with the Bird Feather Stamp Set<\/a> make a perfect combination. I used the numbers 1 through to 5 in my background masking the bird to add the background stamping. Tones of grey were key in this design using Weathered Wood Distress Ink<\/a> and Watering Can Archival Ink<\/a>. This is one of those designs that I was really pleased with the outcome!<\/em><\/p>\n

Sandra Mouwen<\/a> made this tag using her 5 favorite tools

\nI made this tag for my colleague, who is just operated, to go on it’s present we got him. I used 5 tools to create it. The first one I used is the Ink Blending tool<\/a> to make the background, the second is a Stencil<\/a> to create more interest and dimension. With the first stencil I used the third tool the Distress Marker Spitzer<\/a>, love that new tool. For the second stencil I used a Palette Knife<\/a>. And last but not least, my favorite tool of all, my favorite Stamp<\/a>!<\/em><\/p>\n

Emma<\/a> challenged herself to use no more than five main products on this tag covered in butterflies.<\/p>\n

I love using texture and dimension on my projects and carefully chose my five products to use alongside paper and card, to create my springtime tag. Once I’d inked the tag with my first product, Distress Inks<\/a>, I then embossed it using the Regal Flourishes Texture Fade<\/a>. I attached the stamped Tim Holtz quote<\/a> together with Idea-Ology<\/a> items, including Crinkle Ribbon and a Heart Charm. The final product that I used was the Butterfly Frenzy die<\/a> to create an array of butterflies.<\/em><\/p>\n

To Suzz <\/a> the number five makes her think of her family.<\/p>\n

When I heard the challenge of five I couldn’t image how I could only use five items on a project so I thought about what was significant about the number 5 and thought of my family. The inspiration was to create a set of houses reflecting each of my family in a house. I used the Impression Obsession House Frame Die<\/a> to frame out my houses. Then the fun began as I searched all my stamps and papers to see what would fit the personalities of my family. The Graphic 45 Good Ol’ Sport collection<\/a> really helped me out with the men in the house.<\/em><\/p>\n
