Hi all and welcome to another week on the\u00a0Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge<\/a><\/p>\n

Thank you for joining us for the Time Out Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.<\/p>\n

This week we are challenging you to use an ombre technique on your project<\/p>\n

OMBR\u00c9<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n
Definition: Ombr\u00e9 is a French word for a color with a shaded tone or varying tones.<\/div>\n

An example of ombre is a color that fades from dark gray to light gray.<\/p>\n

As it is the first week of the month we are showcasing a particular brand\/designer. This week we are all using products from the fabulous Dina Wakley<\/a>! You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have them we would love to see them used!<\/p>\n

This week we are welcoming the lovely Alison Bomber aka Words and Pictures<\/a> back into\u00a0the Designer Spotlight. If you haven’t visited Alison’s blog before then you are in for a real treat! Please pop by to say ‘Hi’ :-)<\/p>\n

Alison’s<\/a> imagination was caught by the word “Ombre”, not only in the art sense of colour gradation but also in the French meaning of “shadow”.\u00a0 So in this journal spread there’s the subtle blue\/grey shading of the background, echoed in the houses, but also the shadows of the Scribbly Girlies<\/a>\u00a0future selves, hovering with some advice for them. She used several colors of Distress Inks\u00a0<\/a><\/span>and a few strips of Butterfly Design Tape<\/a> for the background.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Andrea<\/a> made some ombre circles for the backgrounds for her notebook makeovers.\u00a0 She used two Prima Traveler’s Journals (Passport<\/a> and Personal<\/a> sizes) and lots of fabulous Dina Wakley products like the Funky Silhouettes<\/a> stencil and the Text and Scribbles<\/a> stamp set.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Anna-Karin<\/a>\u00a0made an art journal page with an ombre background. She worked in Dina Wakley’s Media Journal<\/a> and colored the page with Scribble Sticks<\/a>. The birds are from the Scribbly Birds<\/a> and Scribbly Small Birdies<\/a> sets.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

<\/a>Barbara<\/a> created both backgrounds of her tags\u00a0 with Gel Printing by Ranger<\/a>! She used also two Dina Wakley’s stamps, Textures Media<\/a> and Weird is good<\/a>, Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks<\/a>, Tim Holtz stencils Dashes<\/a> and Dotted<\/a> and a lot of acrylic paints.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Cheiron<\/a>\u00a0created an altered tag using Dina Wakley Media Paints in Fuchsia<\/a>, Magenta<\/a>, Blushing<\/a>, Sky<\/a>, Turquoise<\/a> and Evergreen<\/a> to create her ombre background. She added stamps from Dina Wakley’s\u00a0Contour Figures<\/a> set to create her focal images. \u00a0She colored them in with Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks 1<\/a> and Scribble Sticks 2<\/a> and blended them with a wet brush.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Emma<\/a>\u00a0created a journal page in the\u00a0Dina Wakley Media Journal<\/a> and used Dina’s Media Acrylic Paints in Night<\/a>, Peacock<\/a>, Marine<\/a> and Buff<\/a> to create an ombr\u00e9 background. She added stamped images from Tim Holtz’s Entomology<\/a>\u00a0and Mail Art<\/a> Stamp sets to complete the layout.<\/p>\n

Kath\u00a0<\/a>created an Inspirational Words panel with a purple ombre background using Dina Wakley Cotton Watercolor Paper<\/a>, Scribble Sticks<\/a>, Printed Media<\/a>\u00a0and Washi Tape<\/a>, Collage Paper<\/a> and Collage Words<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Lols\u00a0<\/a>chose to decorate a couple of pages in her Dina Wakely Media Journal.\u00a0<\/a>For the burlap page she used Gesso<\/a> to paint a white area and then splattered with various shades of blue ink. She coloured the seahorse, from a Visible Image ‘Create Your Own Calm’ stamp set<\/a>, using Zig Markers<\/a> in shades of blue. For the underwater scene on the right she used Distress Oxide Inks<\/a> to create an ombr\u00e9 look, splattered with inks and then used a Mighty Wave Stencil<\/a> and Embossing Paste<\/a> to create some texture and then sprinkled with Seahorse Glitter<\/a>. She used a Dina Wakeley Scribbly Fishes Stamp Set<\/a> for the sea life.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Macarena<\/a> used Etcetera Small Tag<\/a> as her base and gave it a natural ombre color using Distress Paint Ground Espresso<\/a> and other shades of cream, beige and browns. The texture was done with Dina Wakley Guts stencil<\/a> and crackle paste. She put Dina Wakley Collage Words<\/a> inside her self-made frame.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Maura<\/a> headed to her Dina Wakley Media Journal<\/a> and pulled out her gel plate<\/a> along with the Dina Wakley Shape Mashup<\/a> and Mini Favorites<\/a> stencils to create her spring blues pages.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Meihsia<\/a> was inspired to create a mixed media tag using Dina Wakley Four Women Media Stencil<\/a> and Tim Holtz Distress Paint<\/a> to make the ombre effect on the background.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Sandra<\/a> went for an art journal spread, and she used the\u00a0Dina Wakly Gel Plate<\/a> with a few of the Dina Wakly Heavy Body Paints<\/a> along with the Dina Wakly Spaced Dots<\/a> to create her bold background.
\n\"\"<\/p>\n
