Just kidding and April Fools! This week we are going with a no rules,\u00a0just create approach. That is right – anything goes!<\/p>\n

Anna-Karin<\/a> made a tag without much planning for this anything goes challenge.<\/p>\n

I just sat down and started taking out some Tim Holtz products to make a tag. The background is covered with Eclectic Elements fabric<\/a> strips, stitched down. I layered ephemera<\/a>, an alpha card<\/a>, die cuts <\/a>and an Alpha Part<\/a> together for the focal point. Here and there flutter tiny die cut butterflies <\/a>and I also used a Film Strip Ribbon <\/a>and Industrious stickers<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Meihsia<\/a> had fun playing various mixed media elements on this chipboard decor since it is anything goes this week.

Since it is anything goes this week, I wanted to play anything on my work desk and have fun. This 16″ X 6″ chipboard key was covered with Heidi Swapp Serendipity paper<\/a> using Gel Medium<\/a>, and distressed with Mix’d Media Inx. I embossed the background with ColorBox embossing powder<\/a> and colored the background with Tim Holtz Distress Paints<\/a>. To add a final touch on this project after the embellishments were attached, I randomly dropped some Heidi Swapp Color Shine<\/a> on it.<\/em><\/p>\n

Andrea<\/a> made a magnetic inspiration board onto which anything can go!<\/p>\n

You know if it’s an “anything goes” challenge that I’m going to whip out the fabric scraps! Fabric is my go-to medium and this time I combined it with white gesso<\/a> and Tim Holtz Distress inks in Wild Honey<\/a> and Peacock Feathers<\/a>. And because my board is magnetic, I can attach all sorts of inspirational scraps and notes to it. I’m starting to think I’m obsessed with memo boards, but that didn’t make this one any less fun to create.<\/em><\/p>\n

Sandra Mouwen<\/a> needs to take notes more often, like writing her groceries down

\nIf you know me, you’ll know that I use little note papers for everything. So I needed a better way to stay a bit more organized. Why not make a notepad? I used small 4 x 6 inches canvas board as covers. I covered it with Gesso<\/a> and stamped the word NOTES with the SSS Sketched Alphabet Stamp Set<\/a> on some tissue paper and with a brush and Multi Medium Matte<\/a> a collaged it onto the canvas board. I made my own cork embellishment with the SSS Large Hearts Die<\/a>, Adhesive Cork<\/a> and the SSS Diagonal Stripe Stencil<\/a>. Decorated it some more and bind it all together with my Cinch<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Suzz<\/a> was thinking of spring flowers and warmer weather.<\/p>\n

I have been thinking of spring and anxiously awaiting the first flowers of spring. I bought the beautiful Indigo Blue Live, Laugh, Love<\/a> set of stamps with flowers, butterflies and sentiments and I created my own warmer weather on a card. I decided a pop of red for my flowers using Ranger Archival ink – Vermillion<\/a> and added a touch of texture to the center with Stampendous Gilded Mica Flakes.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

Emma<\/a> created a gift box with a drawer filled with chocolates from the Easter Bunny.<\/p>\n

I love to make homemade gifts for special times of the year and for my Easter box, I used Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments<\/a> papers to cover a box that I created from chipboard and painted with PaperArtsy Fresco Finish<\/a> Nougat paint. The flowers are die cut using the Tattered Florals die<\/a> and inked with Wild Honey<\/a> and Shaded Lilac<\/a> Distress Ink. To complete my box, I added the gorgeous die cut bunny from the Easter Elements die<\/a> which stands proud on top of the box and then used the Tapered Fringe<\/a> die to create my grass.<\/em><\/p>\n

Michelle<\/a> used this time to play.<\/p>\n

No matter how old you are, new toys are always a joy to play with. I recently received a Crafty Cutts Fancy Oval Slider Box Die <\/a> from Simon Says Stamp<\/a>. I had so much fun using it to create a miniature little fantasy world! I used whimsical, colorful papers from the BasicGrey Fresh Cut <\/a>line. I also used some coordinating Fresh Cut transparencies <\/a>to add extra dimension. The pretty young woman from PaperArtsy’s Mini 13 Postage Stamps <\/a>looked like a fun gal, so she took up residence in my imaginative little world, where there’s always crazy weather.<\/em><\/p>\n

This week Dan<\/a> gave a favorite stamp of his a new look.<\/p>\n

You know when you see someone and think to yourself “that hair is just way too 16th century”? I know, it happens all the time, right? Well, I took steps to address that with one of my favourite stamps<\/a>, giving him a much more up-to-date look. Ok, so Kojak is from back in the 70s, but I’m not a miracle worker! This is a page for my art journal inspired once again by a piece of music I listened to while I worked. Among the stamps I used were the School Desk<\/a>, Psychedelic Grunge<\/a> and Bitty Grunge<\/a> sets.<\/em><\/p>\n

Mona<\/a> took advantage of the creative freedom of not having any rules and created a page in her art journal.<\/p>\n

I stepped outside the perimeter of an A2 size card and created a page in my art journal. I applied many layers of a variety of Ranger Distress Paints<\/a> and randomly stamped fun flowers from the Dyan Reaveley How Does Your Garden Grown<\/a> stamp set. I wanted additional design, so I randomly added stenciled designs using both the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Diamond Circles stencil<\/a> and the Tim Holtz Bubble Stencil<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

No rules gave Tracy<\/a> the opportunity to indulge in her love of texture.<\/p>\n

My fellow team member Andrea inspired me to use the Prima Flowers Lorrena Doll Stamp<\/a>, something I have had in my collection for a while and I wanted to try and use it in an artsy way. Lorrena has been clothed with Tim Holtz Fabric Documentation<\/a> and I have added an eclectic mix of embellishment to add texture. This piece is so tactile!<\/em><\/p>\n

I (May<\/a>) made a new page in my art journal.<\/p>\n

Anything goes – what direction shall I run? Well, I decided to play in my art journal. My favorite tools lately are stencils<\/a>, dylusions<\/a>, and gesso<\/a>. Simple, fun, and colorful to be sure! What I love about art journaling with quotes is that it becomes a motivational and uplifting visual for me to look through as needed.<\/p>\n

Ashli<\/a> was excited to play with some Kraft Glassine<\/a> this week.<\/p>\n
