Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the New Something Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week we would like you to recycle something! Maybe use some ribbon or twine from a gift you received or decorate a carton or jar, there is so much ‘rubbish’ that we can alter into something beautiful and help to save the planet at the same time!
The lovely folks over at Simon Says Stamp are generously giving away a FABULOUS $50 voucher to shop at the Simon Says Stamp Store! All you have to do is take out your crafty supplies, make something following this week’s prompt, and add a link in the Inlinkz at the bottom of this post! You can join 5 times so you could have 5 chances to win! How AWESOME is that!! All winners are chosen randomly, so everyone has an equal chance to win! Woo Hoo!! Good Luck to everyone! The Design Team is looking forward to seeing your crafty packages and will pop around to visit you ASAP!
Remember to click on the person’s name to see all of the details of how we made these creations and leave these wonderful girls some comment love
Wendy has recycled a wooden embroidery hoop as a sun-catcher to hang in her kitchen window using Tim Holtz Botanical Collage Paper, Bouquet Findings, Funky Florals #3, Ruler Pieces, Adornment Butterflies and Mixed Media Thinlits.
Andrea was about to toss her 2018 mini wall calendar, but collaged over it instead. She used some classic Tim Holtz products such as paper dolls and the lowercase cutout alphabet, along with a Color Wheel background stamp from Inky Antics.
Anna-Karin made a tag using almost only recycled materials, and some bits and pieces found on her desk. The hearts were die cut with Simon Says Stamp Windows to my Heart die, and the title comes from the Big Happy set.
Barbara has created a perpetual calendar recycling scrap of paper and some packages by Tim Holtz Idea-ology. She used Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Inventor 1, Tim Holtz Layering stencil Plus , Tim Holtz Sizzix Gadget Gear, Idea-ology Paper Dolls and Ranger Perfect Pearls.
Cheiron used a colorful page from one of her magazines in the recycling pile and turned it into into sparkly patterned cardstock. She cut a rectangle out of manila cardstock with with a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die and then applied Distress Collage Medium and sprayed it with the Stampers Anonymous Glitter Duster to make it sparkle. She added a sentiment using the Simon Says Stamp You’re Doing Awesome die.
Emma had plenty of cardboard boxes that needed to be recycled and put them to good use by using a piece as a background on her canvas panel. She added some rips and tears to the cardboard before applying Floral Collage Paper over the top and adding a the stamped Entomology image, sitting on top of some recycled twigs and showcased in a Vignette Frame.
Kath recycled some corrugated packaging from a Christmas delivery to cover an Eileen Hull Wrapped Journal and decorated the cover with Tim Holtz Idea-ology Ephemera, Sizzix Tattered Poinsettia and Simon Says Stamp Outline Clustered Leaves dies.
Lols used some packaging card and leftover pages from school exercise books to create a notebook. She used a Visible Image Ahead Of Our Times Stamp Set for the focus and a Tim Holtz Grid Cling Stamp and a Mini Stencil Set 5 for the background.
Macarena recycled clothes’ labels and made a set of notes and a card using Tonic Misted Mauve Nuvo Expanding Mousse and a lot of Tim Holtz Ground Espresso Distress Spray with some touches of Ranger Bone Mixed Media Powder.
Meihsia was inspired to create a mixed media tag using the recycled bubble wrap, book page, wire and cardboard, and decorated it with Tim Holtz Rubber Stamp Opportunities and Idea-Ology Quotation Metallic Stickers.
Sandra made another spread in her art journal using an old stamp set packaging, she also added the Simon Says Stamp Deco Diamonds stamp, Clear Gesso, Nuvo Shimmer Powders and Texture Paste to her page.
