You’re My Best Friend

Laurie - Friend die(detail)

Hi readers! Happy Sunday to you! I’m pleased to have another card for you featuring the always inspiring Laurie Schmidlin, using some fabulous Paper Smooches stamps & dies!

Enjoy!

Laurie - Friend die

To create my card I started by layering on some patterned diagonal striped patterned paper.  For the background, I stamped four of the sentiments from the Bosom Buddy set onto a coordinating piece of patterned paper (I chose one with a very subtle pattern so that the stamped sentiments would still be seen).  For the focal image, I die cut the Big Friend die twice and then adhered them together so that the bottom layer was peeking out from under the top layer.  I adhered the friend word to some vellum and then attached it to my card.  For embellishment, I tied a simple bow and added some enamel dots.

  1. Oh I love how you layered the word ‘friend’. You can just see the silver ‘cut out’ peaking out from underneath. makes for a great accent to the card.

  2. I love this card for a few reasons…one is it can be a card from a dog to its owner ( with help of course) and obviously to your friend.. The background is really cool but can be changed to watercolor with all different colors….etc. All kinds of possibilities. Thank you sincerely for sharing this card. Appreciate it. Great inspiration for me personally.

  3. I like that larger friend die and the way you did two layers so that the bottom one peeps out. Very nice!!
