Hello and welcome to the last day of summer school! I can’t believe how quickly the past week went! We hope you enjoyed all of the inspiration and ideas that our amazing teachers shared all week! There were so many great ideas of fun ways to use the new Teacher’s Pet collection! I can’t wait to make lunchbox notes and teachers cards this year!

Before we say goodbye to another year of summer school, we have one more amazing teacher with us today. Please welcome Mrs. Debby Hughes to the class to share an awesome school themed project with you!

Hi, Debby here and so excited to be joining you today for Summer School! I’m delighted that my youngest son will have a male teacher for the coming school year so I wanted to give today’s project a masculine edge. The new Hey Teacher stamp set and Teacher dies were just perfect for keeping things clean and simple – just like the guys like, right?

The main focus of the card is a blackboard created using the new Frames dies from the recent This is The Life release. The Frames dies cut a centerpiece and also a great little frame edge too. I cut the smallest frame in the set from Khaki and Black card and white heat embossed the ‘World’s Best’ from Hey Teacher before giving it the chalkboard look with some Unicorn ink. The ruler from the Hey Teacher set is stamped in Memento tuxedo black, Copic colored and trimmed out and acts as a base for the fabulous Teacher die-cut, which was cut from Lipstick Red card. The Frames dies came into their own again to cut two patterned paper pieces to mat to the Khaki card base.

To accompany the card, I made two more frames and added one to a ruled Moleskine notebook and the other to a humorous book on children’s silly written mistakes (Blackboard Blunders). I must admit that the blackboard cover of this book drew me to it but it is also a fun read.

I can’t believe that the schools here go back in little over a week so I better crack on with all those jobs that need doing before then and getting the school uniform up to date is top of the list; I’m sure the summer sun makes them grow a few inches each year! Have fun and enjoy what’s left of your summer although if you are like me then secretly you look forward to the new school year and all those brand new jotters and cute stationary!

I actually made a video of my project, gasp I know LOL. I really should make more videos and I’m glad that for today I managed to get my act in gear. ;)

Summer School wouldn’t be complete without the chance to win some crafty school supplies, right!?

Supplies

  1. Great job! My son’s 3rd grade teacher was a man and it was a good year for my son. I love what you did here. That tiny frame you pulled off with washi tape was a big surprise to me! Have I been missing something? hhmmm!

  2. I think my best memory was accidentally signing up for German class…ten years later I’m living in Germany and met the man of my dreams….hmmm who would of thought that happy accident changed my life! Thanks for the chance at the giveaway. I love SSS!

  3. I loved the new binders and papers and all the school supplies that came with a new year. A new year meant a new exciting start!

  4. Debby is always so creative–love the cards!! One of my favorite memories was my 5th grade teacher who was from Sri Lanka (now part of India). At recess he would hold up some money and ask, “Who will bring me 5 bags of potato chips?”…..it was hysterical! Whoever he chose got to go to the teachers’ room and buy 5 bags of potato chips from the vending machine!

  5. I mad many posters for teachers when I was assigned to the library after breaking my ankle in gym class. The librarian and the teacher made me feel so special.

  6. This is a super classy card!! Love it! One memory…well, my oldest just started fourth grade, and as we were standing there on back-to-school night, it suddenly brought back all these memories I had long forgotten. I loved my fourth grade teacher so much!! She was so awesome that I still remember her name! I remember I used to write little notes to her when the other kids we’re mean to me…which they were, a lot, unfortunately, especially that year. I was a toe-walker as a kid, and I had my first surgery at 15 months old. But then I had to have surgery again, on both legs, during fourth grade! I was out of school for 6 weeks (or 8?), while in a wheelchair. When I returned, I had half-leg casts on, and was using braces. The kids had teased me for years for being a toe-walker, but now they just looked at me like I was a freak. Thank God for Mrs. Braksick! She helped me not only survive that year, but thrive through fourth grade!

  7. Lovely cards!
I adored my first grade teacher & I thought it was so sweet when she stopped me in the hall a couple years later to tell me how disappointed she was not to have my sister in her class!

  8. What a masculine card using my favorite two pieces from this release! One of my best memories from school is receiving my first chapter book from the school librarian in Kindergarten. She really helped inspire my love of reading and I am forever grateful! The Castle in the Attic will always be one of my favorites!

  9. One of my favorite parts of school were new school supplies–and I still love them. Of course when I was in school, the supplies weren’t NEARLY as cute and colorful as they are today.

  10. Love this masculine card and gift ensemble, what a lucky teacher! My favorite memory of school was changing schools in the first grade and my new teacher, Mrs. Johnson, making me feel welcome and part of the class. Thanks for the chance to win the SSS supplies!

  11. My favorite memories from school revolved around just spending time with my very best friend in the world (who is still my best friend almost 30 years later!). What a good and silly time we had!

  12. I have no kids in school anymore – but have to admire those beautiful cards and envy the teachers getting them.

  13. I always cried the first day of school, and every year an awesome teacher teacher was there to make me feel secure, safe and important (new one every year).

  14. Loving what you did with the card! I taught school myself for 30 years and I was always excited about getting my room ready for my students: preparing bulletin boards that would catch their attention. My memory of school was in the first grade because when we went out to recess I got turned around and could not remember which entrance to go back in. I think my teacher was as nervous as I was once I found my way back :-)

  15. My first grade teacher was wonderful! She made me want to grow up and be a teacher! I love the new frames and using the ruler for the base of the word teacher so it isn’t floating in space!

  16. Love all of your creative ideas! One of my fondest memories is of Mrs Ruby who in 3rd grade gave up her lunch period to teach several young girls how to knit! Our teachers are like gardeners, they plant seeds and water and in time we bloom and flourish! Thank you teachers!

  17. My favorite teacher in school was a social studies teacher who always surprised us with completely original introduction to class! from wearing a kilt to having us listen to gregorian music. I wish I knew where to send him a card to thank him for being such an awesome teacher.

  18. I will never forget my third grade teacher, Mr. Swenny. He has this crazy walk that made my day. He was also a great person.

  19. Dear friends, I hope you are doing well. I am facing a challenge – I have an important report to submit and I am looking for your help. If you have any tips, techniques, or useful resources that will help make the report writing process more efficient, please share them. Thank you for your support!

  20. I am not a fan of agonizing with writing articles or term papers, so I decided to seek help. I discovered this site and have never looked back. If you are interested, you can get the details. It has made my life a lot easier and given me more free time. Every time I place an order, I get quality work done on time.

  21. My memories of school are mostly related to homework. I usually didn’t manage to do my homework on time and that got me into trouble. I hope that students now have an opportunity to make their student life easier.

  22. As a student, I understand how challenging it can be to tackle complex essay assignments. That’s why I’m glad to have found https://assignmentgeek.com/philosophy.html . Their philosophy experts have been a great help in providing well-crafted and well-researched essays. If you’re struggling with your homework, I recommend giving them a try to experience the benefits of their professional assistance.

  23. Homework challenges during school days are a universal experience. Personally, my college journey involved its fair share of difficult assignments. When facing tough problems, searching online for specific services can be a lifesaver. Personally I recently ordered exel homework via https://cwassignments.com/excel-homework-help.html site. They provide help with many other tech subjects, so highly recommend to check!
