The Scoop_2

Hi, my name is Nina-Marie and I am so happy to be Guesting here at the Simon Says Stamp blog, which is one of the stops along the Newton’s Nook 2nd Anniversary blog hop!

For my project, I am sharing a fun shaker card that I’ve created, using the brand new Summer Scoops stamp set from the Newton’s Nook July release… I just love the mouth watering ice cream treats in this set, and paired with some bright, happy colors, this card is perfect for a celebration!

I stamped the ice cream cones all over a cardstock panel, colored them with Copic markers, and die cut a window to begin creating the shaker. A layer of acetate (stamped with a sentiment), followed by craft foam, makes a perfect well for my shaker elements.

My shaker elements are created using Pretty Pink Posh sequins and hearts die cut using the Newton’s Naptime die set (also brand new too!). I attached some of the sequins to my shaker backing (created with white cardstock), before piling all my other sequins in. Adhering some sequins to the cardstock backing helps make the design look more balanced so that not all of the sequins are laying in the bottom of the shaker when standing up.

I layered a scalloped circle frame around the outside edges of the shaker window, and attached my cat’s head along the bottom. The cat is from the Newton’s Antics stamp set, and is colored with Copics. Finally, I added some Wink of Stella clear glitter (because I just cannot get enough of anything that sparkles!) and covered the hearts and sprinkles with Glossy Accents.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing a fun way to use the brand new stamps and dies from the Newton’s Nook July release.

Happy hopping! :)
