Matchy Matchy Easy Easy

Hi readers! Happy Tuesday! I’m excited to share this fun post with you where Sandy Allnock shows you the perfect coordinating Copic Markers to use with our newest ink & cardstock release! Enjoy!

Hello everyone! It’s Sandy, back again with a Copic post that’s just a little different! I tried to combine several things: matching Copics to the colors in the recent Daybreak release – and showing you how you can get just a little bit of dimension using just a single Copic marker. (GASP! Yes! One marker!)

First, the Copic matching…this was fun, but a challenge! I made this pretty little chart to photograph…I provided some alternate options for the greys, since I know lots of folks don’t own the T and N series. (They don’t come in the standard Papercrafts A and Papercrafts B sets, which are most common among our type of users….but the C and W markers do appear in those sets.) The lighter colors of the petals that are at the inside of the flower (beside the blue center) are the colors with just a little Copic marker; the outside edges have several layers of the color, so they’re darker.

In the video, I’ll show you how I layered colors to create just a little dimension on the flowers – with just one marker for each one.

Mod Window die in the video….for those who have patience, I hope you try it – the detail is just yummy! I die cut pieces from several colors, put scotch tape on the back of the outline, then put the pieces back in like a puzzle.

  1. Great video. I started to do the shadows like this when I discovered how it worked since I don’t have nearly the amount of Copics Sandy has. Thanks for showing this was a good method.

  2. Thanks, much for the color matching — ALWAYS a nice reference to have. Love, love, LOVE the mod window die and the sample cards. So much so that the die just jumped onto my wish list — and not at the very bottom either. :)
