House Mouse Summer Soak Up

It’s Lorraine, aka, Lols here to share my love of all things House Mouse!

House Mouse and Friends Stamps were one of my first loves in card making. The little critters all have such lovely characters and get up to all kinds of mischief.  The artist behind them, Ellen Jareckie, is also a Wildlife Rehabilitation Specialist, and cares for injured and abandoned animals. Her intimate contact with these tiny creatures  is reflected in the attention to detail in her creations for House Mouse Designs and almost brings her artwork to life!

For the first card I am sharing today I used a Stampendous Watermelon Mice Cling Stamp. DSC01766

Maxwell, Amanda, Mudpie and Amanda are enjoying a lovely ripe watermelon and are all happy and content with their full tummies. Mudpie is the naughty one spitting out the seeds. I colored with Copic Markers and then added some extra depth of color with Prismacolor Pencils. I kept the whole design fairly simple, just adding some Star Dust Stickles and finishing with a wrapping of  May Arts Burlap String.

Next up is a card made using a Stampendous ‘Share A Sip’ Cling Stamp.

What nicer way is there to spend a hot summer’s day than sharing a cool glass of lemonade with a friend!  Of course this could also be a gin and tonic, a mojito, or even a glass of plain old water with a squeeze of lemon! Just look at the expression of bliss on the little mouse’s face, he is really enjoying that drink! :-)

I colored with Copic Markers and added some sparkle with a Wink Of Stella Clear Brush and some Star Dust Stickles. I wrapped with Hemptique Aquamarine Natural Hemp Cord and finished with a Simon’s Exclusive Cheers Craft Die Cut.
