Flora Fauna Feature

Hi! This is Lara from Flora & Fauna. We are a new clear set and die company and so excited to be guests on the Simon Says Blog. Today we are sharing a cute card from our new line Under the Sea along with our Octagon Die. We originally designed the octagon to work as a greenhouse and we thought it would be cute to hold plants and other vegetation. But today we are using it as an aquarium which is so fun as well.

To make this card we die cut the Flora & Fauna Octagon Die out of black paper. We then stamped the fish onto a white A2 card using Versafine Black Onyx so it didn’t smear and shaded them with Prismacolor pencils. To make the water in the aquarium we painted the background in shades of blue using the Sakura Koi Watercolor Set.

Next we adhered Judikins window plastic behind the Octagon Die and sprinkled gold sequins from Pretty Pink Posh for a sparkle effect. We stamped the mermaid from the Under the Sea set on a separate paper and colored her in with the Prismacolor Pencils and gave her some sparkle using the Nuvo Glitter Drops in Honey Gold.

We cut her out and attached her to the card using 3-D foam mounting tape. To complete the card we stamped our typed greeting hi there in the Versafine Black and then used the Nuvo Glitter Drops in Silver Moondust to create the bubbles coming out of the tank. Such a simple but fun card. Thank you so much for having us here today to share one of our latest creations from our new line.
