Flight: Art Journal Page

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday!!!

I’ve got an art journal page for you. I had a happy accident on this one (my tape stuck to my Eiffel Tower) and  tried out a couple new techniques. I went with a little more Shabby Chic style with this which is one of my favorite looks.

I started out using Dina Wakley Turquoise paint… and then the layering began!

I added Texture paste and layered more paints on top till I had the look I wanted.

I cut out the Leaf Cluster Die from Sticky Back Canvas, then colored with Distress Paints. The texture on this page makes me happy!

I’ve shot a full process video, and had to speed it up quite a bit to fit in the time allowed. I have all the supplies listed below if you have any questions.

I’ve got a Blog Candy Alert!! Follow our blog via email and comment on this post for a chance to win a special blog candy!

  4. Shari, this is WONDERFUL!!! I LOOOOVED seeing you at work! :D Each time you’d add another layer, I thought, it already looked “good!” LOL WHAT A FABULOUS JOB you’ve done!!! :D

  5. I love living like an artist, vicariously, through watching your art journal videos! Love all the layering and texture on this one. How do you decide when the project is “done?”

  6. So much texture! This is a different size than your other journal pages. Are you starting a new one?

  7. I am always amazed by your creations, Shari! This journal page is among my favorites you have done because I have a “thing” for the Eiffel Tower and Paris, in general!!

  8. You always create such stunning layouts. LOVE and adore this “FLIGHT” as well. Great texture and lovely video !! Thanks a lot for sharing your creativity !!!

  9. Watching this image unfold was like beholding a butterfly emerge from its crysalis. So amazing and lovely! I just love to watch a Shari Carroll video any day, any time. So great.

  10. You show that a journal page does not have to fit within a space predetermined by a bound volume. All the layers built the foundation for a delicate statement about freedom – I love every bit of it.
