Hi there crafty friends! It’s Cheiron Brandon here with my monthly post using Tim Holtz products. I don’t know about you, but I love to walk around home decorating stores especially around the holidays. This year, I have been seeing plenty of signs around with words like Noel or Joy where the letter “O” is swapped out for a holiday object like a wreath or snowflake. I thought it would be fun to take this idea and make some cards from it.

I combined the Tim Holtz Sizzix Christmas Minis along with letters from the Alphanumeric Varsity Thinlits dies to create some clean and simple cards with holiday words. These cards are super easy if you simply cut the letters and objects from paper and adhere them. They can also get fancier by popping up the letters with foam tape and adding a little sparkle.

To begin, I decided on three words that I wanted to create: PEACE, JOY and HO HO HO. I cut these words out of different cardstocks (including the Tim Holtz Kraft Stacks in Warm and Cool and the Holiday Backdrops and decided for each one what letter I wanted to replace and with what die from the Christmas Minis. For the peace card, I used a tree. For the joy card, I used a wreath and for the Ho Ho Ho card, a Santa of course.

I put each word onto a white notecard, and popped up the letters with foam adhesive. I cut each of my dies from the Christmas Minis and added a little glitter cardstock and a mirrored star to the snow on my tree and some Distress Mica Flakes to Santa’s hat. Then I added each panel to a coordinating piece of the Backdrops paper. It’s a simple as that! Hope you enjoyed these cards, keep in mind that you can do this with any letter and small dies that you have on hand, and it’s a great way to use up those scraps you have been saving too!
