Hi, all! Kristina here with another card and video featuring products from the January 2013 Card Kit. :)

Today’s card is nearly a one-layer card since it’s pretty flat. I love creating cards like this because they are so easy to mail. No extra postage needed. :)

The sentiment comes from the Very Special stamp set that’s included in the January Card Kit. I embossed it over a blended background made with Distress Inks. If you’ve never tried embossing over Distress Inks, you’ll need to make sure the Distress Ink is SUPER dry. Like bone dry. Distress Inks stay wet a bit longer than other dye-based ink, so you’ll want to be cautious with them when it comes to embossing over the top.

In my case, I used a combination of a heat tool and the EK Success Powder Tool to really draw out all the moisture of the ink. In the end, it worked pretty well!
