You’re Very Special

Hi bloggers! Happy Sunday to you! Today I have 2 pretty & fun cards made with Derwent pencils, some SSS exclusives, & Hero Arts stamps!  We’re so pleased to have Ashley Stephens back as a guest designer today! I will let her fabulous cards speak for themselves and also leave you with some notes about each card from the designer.

Enjoy!

For this card, I used a watercolor technique with Derwent Inktense pencils. I wet my brush and swiped it directly onto the pencil, then let the water drip directly onto the paper. This gives a nice, rich color! I then brushed a single strip of each color to serve as the background for my stamp. I embossed the sentiment with distress ink, giving it a soft look. Then, I went over everything with glossy accents to make it appear that the paint was still wet.

I also used my Inktense pencils for this card, but instead I colored directly onto my embossed image, working in strips. I tried to layer the colors over each other so they would blend nicely. Then, I added water, painting back and forth, to create the watercolor look. Once everything was dry, I rubbed a damp cloth over the embossing to brighten it up again. With just a little twine for interest and an embossed greeting, this card was very easy to make!
