Hi everyone! I’m excited to be here today and share a card with you using new products from the Hero Arts holiday collection.
I’m a huge fan of word dies, so I couldn’t wait to create with the Joy Stamp & Cut set!

I started out by creating a white plaid background on kraft cardstock using the Candy Stripe Bold Prints. I stamped the image once straight on the cardstock, then turned it 45 degrees and stamped it again. Such a simple and a fun way to stretch your stamps!

Next, I die cut the word “joy” from the plaid panel. Then I created a cluster of pine branches and leaves across the panel using the Winter Greens by Lia ink cubes and mounted the piece on a a panel of Simon Says Stamp Lipstick Red Cardstock. I also die cut the word “joy” from that same red cardstock and inlaid it into the stamped panel. To complete my message, I stamped and white heat embossed one of the coordinating sentiments from the Joy Stamp & Cut set.

I popped up the focal piece on a card base made from Simon Says Stamp Woodgrain Cardstock, which I thought coordinated perfectly with the pine branches. And then I added some random white dots with a white gel pen and covered the word “joy” with glitter using the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Marker.

  1. I’m going to be working on Christmas Cards with all the goodies I have in my craft room. It is so very cold in the Northeast, but don’t want to turn on the heat, so I heat up with new card making.

  2. DELIGHTFUL card Kelly!!!
LOVE your background stamping and all of your inky layers, you shimmering joy finishes it off PERFECTLY!!!
THANK YOU for sharing your BEAUTIFUL card and tutorial, I’m sure tempted to STRETCH my stamping limits :)

  3. What a lovely card! I should start making my Christmas cards for this year, but the tiny bit of crafting time I currently have goes into last minute birthday cards.

  4. Kelly’s card is wonderful! Love everything about it!
I’ve just finished a card last night with a hand drawn image. Hope it counts!

  5. Kelly, your card is unique and creative. I really like the way you put the plaid on the kraft paper, then added colored branches on top. I wondered how I could put a word die on a card without it being lifted off the paper. Thanks to you, now I know. I die cut the background paper and then lay the die cut word in the empty space. Yeah! I have the Joy die. I’m going to make a similar card to yours.

  6. Happy World Cardmaking Day. What a fun way to celebrate. I just linked a card I made last night. Is there a link limit? I am hoping to be inspired and make lots of cards this weekend LOL. Hugz

  7. Happy cardmaking day and thanks for this contest and for the chance to win such an amazing prize. For me cardmaking is the chance to give something that is personal for the recipient and I could never send a shop bought card again. Love the fabulous card Kelly made xx

  8. Oh my gosh, I can’t believe I actually linked up a card (my first time!) – sorry it’s a little blurry. I’ll get better. Happy Card Making Day to everyone!

  9. Joyful card with the wonderful background, colors & arrangement. I was not sure if the card had to be one created today or if it could be a former posted card because I saw some others had entered ones from Sept? Was not sure about limit? Please let us know here & I’ll ck back.
