Summer School with Kathy Racoosin!

Hello and welcome to another Simon Says Stamp Summer School lesson brought to you by Kathy Racoosin!

For today’s lesson, Kathy is going to show us a great way to cover up those accidental mistakes we sometimes make when working with stamps and ink. We’ve all been there… we almost have a card completed and then we’re horrified to discover that we accidentally got an ink smudge on the card base and we panic, thinking all we’ve created is pretty trash. Well don’t throw them out just yet, because Kathy has a great trick that can save those cards and make them look just as good as they would have without the little smudge! ;-)

Kathy created three amazing cards for us today:

Thinking of You

Wishing You the Most Beautiful of Beginnings

Wishing You the Most Beautiful of Beginnings

And believe it or not, one of these cards originally had a little ink smudge on it:

But since she had already done all of that amazing stamping, she didn’t want to have to start the card completely over again. So her advice?

Take the ink and line the edge of some extra cardstock so the extra layer shows. Then glue it over top of the smudge, trim off the excess and admire your beautiful card once again! ;)

Such a quick and easy way to cover up a mistake and no one will ever even notice that the extra piece of cardstock wasn’t originally planned to be there.

And we can’t end this post without mentioning the amazing detail Kathy adds to her stamped images by simply adding white dots for added dimension and texture. They make the flower images come to life and stand out so beautifully on her cards! Such a great technique that adds so much to her finished designs.
