It’s Yainea here and I’m so happy to be here again as a guest designer! I’m playing with the new Avery Elle Summer release and I made a card using the Tweet Tweet stamps and dies.

First, I cut a piece of white Neenah cardstock and stamped randomly the leaves of the set to use them as feathers. Then I stamped the rest of the images and colored the bird and feathers using Prismacolor pencils with Gamsol (I LOVE this technique!).

The next step is die cut a white rectangle using Wonky Borders, those stitches look great and add something extra to the card. I stamped the sentiment with Versafine ink and die cut the bird and cage.

We have everything ready, just assemble everything together: I used Tombow glue to adhere the feathers panel to an Avery Elle Aquamarine notecard and foam adhesive to adhere the wonky panel, bird and cage.

As a final touch, I tied some Lawn Fawn twine to the cage and added a little bow. I hope you like my project! Thanks so much to the people of Simon Says Stamp for having me today. Have a great day!!

  1. What an adorable card! I really like the design, from the wonky border and the twine to the “feathers” on the background piece. Great coloring as well!

  2. Ahh…. A leaf stamp as a feather! One just needs to look outside the box for new things to do with our stamps.

  3. Awwww…..sweet lil birdie. Darling card. Beautiful coloring. Would not have guessed pencils
could blend so well. Gamsol is on my list to try. Lovely card-thanks for sharing your talent.
Love how you added the thread to make the bird look like he is dangling.

  4. I need more cute sentiments like this and my next mission in my growing stamp collection is getting some more sentiments and animals. This would help launch me towards that mission.
