Lipstick Red is the lighter and brighter of our two red card stocks and ink. It’s the perfect Summer red. Consider it a primary element for your stash, it goes with everything especially with other brights such as Orange Peel and Sunshine card stocks!

I found a lot of embellishment type product to go together, from Doodle Bug Pixies to sequins and papers. There was so much to choose from. I’ve put together a video of the walk through and a little explanation of my card. Enjoy!

I decided to go with a patriotic theme for my card since the 4th of July is right around the corner. I started building up layers of papers from the Pebble Inc. Americana pack. From there I stamped some stars using the Simon Says Stamp Lots of Stars set and scattered them around. I cut out the little calendar from the Simple Stories Just Basics and added it to a Doodlebug Pixies mini pick.

I love the look of the stamped stars on the pattern paper, especially to highlight the 4th on the calendar.

I finished things up by adding a few Kelly Purkey red sequins for a bit of sparkle!

I’ve got a Blog Candy Alert for you today! Be sure to follow our blog via email and comment on this post for a chance to win a special blog candy!

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you have a great week-end!

  1. Love the red, white and blue and that you stamped the stars on patterned paper! These items are a fabulous assortment to use with the lipstick red paper and ink. Thanks, Shari, for the video!

  2. I love how you incorporated today’s red collection into a 4th of July card. I also like the idea of using the straw to hold the July calendar to mimic a flag.

  3. Yep, everything looks very good, from the paper packs to the sequins! Very patriotic card, love the stars on the woodboard paper. Makes me want to sing America the Beautiful right now!!

  4. These posts are really helpful. Shopping on line it’s not always easy to tell what items will coordinate well. Now you do all the coordinating for me.

  5. I love reds, but they can be tricky to combine sometimes. Some of your supplies looked pink rather than red (cardstock and letter stickers) but that may be a trick of the light. All the more reason to pick your colours in the daylight or using a daylight lamp LOl.

  6. Red is my FAVORITE color. Growing up the theme color in my bedroom was red. Love this card. So cute!

  7. Love all your choices for the Lipstick Red collection and loved how you used them for your card.

  8. ANOTHER GREAT POST! This is such a great resource for those of us who have very little luck in matching our colors! Thanks.

  9. Wow! I just love the color coordinates. This red really pops! Thanks for all the inspiration and the great products.

  10. BOLD & BEAUTIFUL!!!
FABULOUS card too … just in time for my birthday, yes, the entire USA celebrates my day :)
THANK YOU for sharing your Lipstick Red coordinates and card Shari!!!
